Sinclair

Apologies if this question has already been asked. I'm doing my first job for Sinclair on Monday and I wondered what they're like to work for. Thanks in advance!

I really liked working for them but with the reduction in fees I will no longer do the shops. The forms are reasonable and I like the schedulers
I am confused...are we talking about a MSC or the client Sinclair????

Shopper and auditor since March 2012.
Cover all center/north Oklahoma and south Kansas.
I have worked for Sinclair over the years. Some of their shops have disappeared, and others have seen decreased fee/reimbursement, making them less desirable.

Sinclair provides good training, communication, and pays according to stated terms. Their reports are straightforward, and easy enough. It may take a week or so before receipt status is confirmed, but payment hasn't been delayed.
I worked for Sinclair about 15 yrs. ago and they were my first MSC. I really liked them. They do not have any shops in my area that I've found all though I signed up with them.
I used to do several shops a month for them and liked them. However, the fee reduction really turned me off.
If this Sinclair Metric, I do a few a month. The shops I do are simple, but the pay is low. It only worth it because I want what the shop has to offer.
Sinclair is mediocre in my book. They have a famous mall shop that people enjoy doing, but other than that, they have very few opportunities in my area (central Illinois).

As others have already commented, Sinclair's pay is, again, mediocre. I found their editors to be fair. Their shops require a lot of writing, especially for what the shopper is being paid.
I used to do TONS and TONS of banks for them and this just dissapeared about 6 months ago..

The shops are "salsa based" now and not much more...Oh, sometimes the "stoneware" shops come up and once in a while a "boat shop" but they do not have the volume that they used to...
I signed onto 2 retail shops on a w/e a while back. Since they have a very generous schedule that offers a long range I thought it would not be a problem to reschedule for Mon. Weekend, so of course I hear nothing. And then mon. polite email saying sorry, but your shops have been given to another shopper.
So I guess, do not try to reschedule. And now I do not hear from them.
Oh well.
I like Sinclair a lot. They are very good to work with. But yes, they don't have much going on. Their "salsa shop", the home goods shops, and the snack shops are few and far between in my area. I wouldlove to do more with them if the opportunities come up.
Lower fees from 12 to 8 makes this less desireable for the one shop, with the other remaining the same....not much to buy for the low reinbursement, I still manage to find something cute or usable or a gift. I work for them now only when jobs appear in my mall (which I live at anyway).

Live consciously....
I really like working with them, especially my scheduler, Gina. I also used to do more shops for them, but they don't have many available that I can do due to their rotation schedule. The ones they do have are way out of my typical routes and do not pay as great as they used to. If you have an opportunity to shop for them and are good with the pay, go for it.
I have worked for Sinclair for years and I am disappointed about the lowered pay and enhanced reporting criteria. I have noticed that assignment postings that used to disappear immediately now sit for several days or even weeks, as they should.
Oh no! Someone just called me for a shop. It is bonused but the scheduler was very nice and I just accepted a shop with Sinclair. I hope it is at least interesting.
I used to do Sinclair shops on a regular basis, but haven't seen any in my area for over 3 years. Don't know what's up, but I wish there were shops in my area.

I am not sure why this is an oh no. Most of the complaints are centered around the lowered fees that happened earlier this year. The shops aren't bad and the reporting is easy on their shops.

My only issue with Sinclair is the low pay, and over the past year, it's gotten worse. Compensation has decreased on a few of their more desirable shops.

It's an "Oh no!" because I found out the shop is actually purchase and return, which
I consider two shops, thus the fee is lowered, even with the bonus. That confirms the low fee stated
in this thread.

I hope that is satisfactory.

I have now declined it because it is actually far from me and I was told at first, there was a small purchase
but no return.

Oh I can understnd that - I have never done a purchase and return for them. I do the pretzels and the bulk type grocery for them. They lowered the fees for the grocery and I decided not to do it at that price and a few weeks later it went back up. I have even done it for a bonus. The pretzel - yeah I am not thrilled with the lower fee but I am at the mall and I am buying a pretzel and I NEED my Diet Coke anyway so I will still do that.

Yep. The same shop you declined was undoubtedly one that used to be one visit, purchase only. The fee was about half of what it is now, but there was an allowance for a purchase, in one instance, a fairly generous one. I did those from time to time, but now, no more.
I think the fee used to be $10-$12 and the allowance was $7 for a single visit with no return. Now the fee is $15 with no allowance and a required purchase and return. Shoppers are required to wait one hour before the return.
I just looked at my records, and the fee for one of them was $7.00, with a $10.00 reimbursement. I think that here, the fee for the one with the heftier reimbursement was $8.00.

Truly, the new fees are pretty ridiculous!
Sinclair has a new pizza client. The pay is $5, plus "up to" $10 reimbusement for specified menu items. This also requires uploads and photos.
Did a few shops last month. Nice working with them. Was easily able to get in touch with the scheduler.
I receive the notices daily just after 6:00am est. By the time I check my email just before 8:00am est, the shops are already gone. Wish they'd vary the times the notifications go out. Oh well!

Oh well! On a good note, the few shops I have performed for them were great. Guidelines clear, reports easy.
Try signing in before you go to bed and other odd times. I have definitely found available shops without relying on email notifications.
I am happy as a clam to have a dining shop through them for my favorite restaurant -- and self-assigned, too! I figured I'd be battling with all their regular old reliable shoppers to get this restaurant but click, click, and it was mine! Taking my BF out for dinner. I don't care if it's no pay, it's a great meal on someone else's dime.

I pray it does not occur that the last thing I did before I died was vacuum the house or eat broccoli.
I grabbed a few of their new pizza shop. What happened to their Mexican shop? I loved them. I like their high end store, which is not the purchase/return one. The pretzel ones are my favorite as well as the bulk food store. This msc is in my top 10 for sure.
