I have done them in the past and they were easy. Not sure how you could have looked at the report before taking the shop on the sassie software.

That questionnaire is proprietary and should not be posted on a public forum. Regardless of how you feel about GFK, please respect Jacob and this forum by editing your post and removing all of that information. In addition to violating the posting guidelines, that is a major violation of your ICA.

I do not understand what the problem is with posting the questionnaire. I remember applying for one of these cell phone shops, and I was shocked at the number of questions they were asking. I thought it was supposed to be easy. After looking at the number of questions they expected me to answer, I immediately cancelled the shop. Isn't this what the forum is all about in trying to help other shoppers?
Thank you for removing that information.

GFK is notorious for having many extra questions designed in that manner. They also are some of the worst with the concept of question 10 and 10.1 and 10.1a, 10.1b, etc. It is very misleading.

cactus56, other shoppers can be helped without jleetw1 violating their independent contractors agreement. Those questionnaires are the property of the mystery shopping company and/or client and publishing it here could have resulted in legal action. The questionnaire also contained the name of the client and it is against forum guidelines, and most ICAs, to reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies.

I've found those shops and reports to be very easy. The report looks very long at first glance but as you fill it out, many questions disappear because of your answers (i.e. all questions about a second phone will disappear if one answers that only 1 phone was mentioned, all questions about features will disappear if one answers that features were not mentioned, etc.). The answers are all multiple choice and there is no narrative.

The OP dropped the shop before attemtpting to complete the report. Had the report been completed, the OP might have seen that it was not nearly as daunting as it looked.

Don't stay away. These are easy shops with an easy, though a bit long, report.
I did a shop for them and was denied nethy to the facility because they do not sell to the public. When I returned home I called the scheduler and told I was not allowed entry and the person who opened the door told me so. He told me to submit with the information and to also submit required photo.
I also was denied payment.
Not sure that was fair and I did respond to the questions they had regarding the non payment. However, I was still not paid. Not sure I want to do other shops for them.
This post doesn't specifically address cell shops for the MSC, rather the company in general.

I accepted a shop in 2005, but wasn't able to complete the work due to a scheduler refusing to reply to my request for assistance. MY next job was this yr. and the problem was payment. Receiving no acceptable resolution from the scheduler, I phoned the company and spoke with Donna Goodwin; my pay arrived in 2 wks. I requested and was granted de-activation, as, at this stage of my life, I refuse to be aggravated for a few dollars.
Well, well, well. When did you get back?

If this was a warehouse club location, you can either choose to ask for a day pass or tell them you need to go to the pharmacy. The pharmacy bit has something to do with not being able to deny you access to the pharmacy by federal law.

I feel this way after this afternoon. I spent more than an hour trying to pass the Cell Shop Quiz. Failed it twice in a row by one question. I'm not an idiot, I have a college degree and I have had successful cell phone shops with other companies in the past several years. I know it said to contact the scheduler before taking it a 3rd time but I just gave up. It only pays $11 and I had already spent more than an hour on just reading the shop guidelines and trying to pass what should be a simple 16 question quiz. I only do mystery shops on the side and there are plenty of other shops out there.

Still working my way through all the postings here on the Forum.

For those shopping a pink cell a rep told me you are flagged instantly if you do not produce ID to check your credit. I was in looking for a prepaid for grandma, no credit check needed. He got to talking and gave me the "thought you were a shopper speech..."
So just a heads up.

It was not a warehouse shop. It was a private company located in a warehouse district. They hardly spoke English but sent someone to the door to see what I wanted.

How odd. I've done non-pink (don't know who that is) cell phone shops and bank shops, where I have to act like I'm opening an account at that time. When they ask for ID, I act (it wasn't an act the first time it happened!) surprised at their request. I say that I'm just looking for information right now, and everyone has been fine.

They apparently are trained no ID- shopper alert. We all have done the banks and other cell shops and blow off the ID check ALL the time.
The pink just has their own red flag...

That must keep them on their toes. I've seen a lot of people stop in those stores to look at phones and leave without supplying an ID or having a credit check.

I have done a number of these shops and to be honest they are not worth it for $11 (to me personally anyway) which is why I have never completed one for even close to that price!

The shop itself is pretty quick at around 15 mins but for the first time shopper there is a lot to learn, a quiz and the report is not super quick, with multiple drop down boxes of narrative.
I would say for a shopper doing this for the first time you would have at least 1.5-2 hours of work to complete.
Once you have learned the senario, have all the paperwork and know the shops off by heart then its around 15 mins of shopping and 0.75 hours of admin time.

I have done a shed load of phone shops and have never been asked for an ID so I am not sure why that would ever come up.
The reports aren't so bad. They look bad, but go really quick. I would rather answer 100 questions, then answer 10 questions with narrative. Narrative takes so much longer. I rather like GFK.

Also, I would never cancel a shop once I signed up because of the questions. I think that would be wrong. I would do the shop, but learn not to do anymore for that company. I would not want to be considered flaky by dropping shops because I didn't like their questions. Besides, one person's idea of bad, is another person's idea of ideal.
I have done a lot of the 3 initials cell phone company (defintiely not pink) and the shop takes 10-15 minutes; the report with store front photo and business card uploads took maybe 20 max. I still say they are easy. MtlShopper and I are doing one type and y'all must be doing a different "easy" cell shop.

I am scheduled for my first one this week, so I'm relieved to see some opposing opinions!! I was getting worried!
The quiz for the $11.00 cell phone shop is totally ridiculous! I can't believe they expect shoppers to spend 1-2 hours learning all of the potential scenarios. I personally think it's crazy. Quite frankly, it doesn't seem to be the simple type of quiz well are all used to taking. I call this one unpaid training!

Thanks for all the GREAT advice.

Shopping off and on for 20+ years in NE Arkansas.
I did my first one with them on Tues. It took me 3 tries to pass the test, one of the questions is worded very oddly. I called my scheduler and he had me verbally answer the test questions to find out which one I kept getting wrong.
The shop itself was similar to other cell shops I have done.
The report is a bit intimidating when you first look at it but I found that it was striaghtforward, and did not take me all that long to complete. I will do more of them if they pop up in my area and I need a filler for the day.

Once you've taken the time on the qualifying test it pushes you to do more jobs to offset the unpaid time spent on the training. Hmmmm, maybe that's the goal, lol!
