mVentix question

I'm wondering if anyone here who shops with them can help me.

I am looking at some shops at big box stores. The instructions have a section about auditing at Sams or Costco which suggests ways to do the audit without being a member. However, later in the instructions, it says that a receipt must be submitted for the shop to be accepted.

Is there a way to either
a) buy something at these places and get a receipt without a membership?

or

b) submit another form of proof?

Well, looking over the information on the shop, it is pretty clear that a receipt is the only form of proof acceptable. I guess that leaves a as the only option.

Can non-members at Sams and Costco buy food? Do they provide receipts for the food?
You can get a receipt at the outdoor food stand, and you don't have to be a member to buy there.
At our Costco, you can get a "day pass" to shop there without getting a membership. But I like the food court idea better.

Neither Sam's nor Costco asks for your membership card at the indoor food counters. At Sam's, you can get a big refillable beverage for about $1.
I have memberships to both, but had some jobs for mVentix and wanted to get out of the store quickly when finished. Stupid me, I spent as long waiting in line at the food counter as on the shop.

oh, I forgot about that. Darn. I guess I'll have to plan on the visits taking a while.

Wow, I thought a day pass only allowed you to browse. My daughter tells me that she gets an alcohol pass to get in Costco. I guess they aren't allowed to restrict who buys the alcohol. Too bad I'm not much of a drinker.

Never heard of the alcohol pass, but I thought they couldn't restrict prescription purchases to members only.

Yes, I have entered Costco for the pharmacy. However, you can't buy anything unless you have a prescription, so, no receipt. I once was at a Costco that had the pharmacy in in front of the registers rather than on the other side with the merchandise.

Leave it to a 23 year old to know about the alcohol pass. It could be a state by state thing, too.

I was refused a browse pass the other day at a Costco nearby which really threw a wrench into my work as I had a shop inside.

I usually bring a clipboard and wear a name tag and just smile as I walk by and say "vendor." Oh, the lies I have learned to tell as a mystery shopper.

Well, maybe it's changed. It used to be (at least at our Costco) that you could make purchases that one day with a day-pass. Never heard about the alcohol pass, either! Hmmm.

And at LisaSTL... know what you mean about the food court lines! Good Lord, I've seen the food court line as long as all the regular check-out lanes put together. Almost stretching to the big warehouse doors!

It does beg the question "Why?" You would think it was gourmet food at McD prices or something.

It very well may be like that still. I haven't tried or asked. I just assumed and you know what happens when we assume.
Actually at our Costco, someone stands at the door and you have to get in by holding up your Costco card.
They don't check it, you just show it as you pass by.

So even if you can borrow someone's you'll be fine.

At the food counter they have the most delicious huge hot dogs and a drink fo $1.50 with receipt. So that takes care
of purchase.

Uh - P.S.

Am I correct that the MSC and its client are mentioned ? Shouldn't the MSC name be removed or the clients names? One or the other ?

In this case it's all good. The stores mentioned are not the clientsmiling smiley

Thanks for the info. Although, I'm not sure delicious and hot dog belong in the same sentence. smiling smiley But that's just me. I don't really eat that type of food. It may be only $1.50 now, but treatment for heart disease and diabetes are a damn sight more costly and me without health insurance.
I did a Private Members Club with no membership. The lady at the door said, "You can look around but you can't purchase anything." So, I got some brochures from the three departments and prayed I would not be asked to provide a receipt. The next day my shop was graded and acceptedsmiling smiley

not to worry Bay

I rarely eat meat at all - if I have a hamburger twice a year its unusual....so if I tell you this huge hot dog is delicious, with relsih, mustard and sauerkraut, you can believe it. If I have it 4 times a year, it won't be the cause of cholesterol I'm sure.
Also I stoppd drinking soda a year or more ago, so I dont think the decaf cola is gonna do me in either.

Now, those are expensive!
I do like Costco's food, pizza & kosher hot dogs & those bake things & smoothies & such... and it is reasonably priced... but still, with the lines you'd think it was manna from heaven!

Costco smoothies are good .... and do they still have the yummy big pretzel? Haven't hit Costco in a while.....
Has anyone tried to sign on today? I keep getting weird error messages that there is a connection error. It is the same on both IE and Chrome. Obviously I'm not having problems with the Internet. I also tried sending an e-mail and it got kicked back.

I got that all day yesterday after I got an email about shops and then I tried this morning and got right in but of course no shops available.

Liz
I was able to access the site later in the evening. Plenty of shops, just none I would take. The nearest were all revealed. Since their scenarios do not change, I'd prefer not to make it worse by revealing myself to the stores within a 5 mile radius, lol!
