CORI Java Script Error 4454

Has anyone else had issues with Java script error 4454 when filling out one particular gas station shop?

I called in and was told it is an issue with the settings on my computer. I finally got the report to submit, but it took several tries. I googled "Java script error 4454 & was inundated with fixes I could purchase and download.

Anytime they tell you it's your computer, I assure it is cori. They NEVER take responsibility for their problems. They stopped challenging me on it when I called them out on their bs since I'm involved heavily in the tech field and can swim laps around their entire staff when it comes to anything tech related.

The big problem they have now is any new laptop or desktop pc has no "officially" supported browser. Internet Explorer 10 is built using similar engine now to chrome and firefox which cori doesn't support. They remain stuck in the 19th century and want you to use old versions of internet explorer which have plenty of security holes. Not to mention java itself is dealing with big security issues this week, which is what their site is based on.

Don't they want something like IE 7? Before transitioning to Chrome I was up to IE 9 and never went back even though I humor them and use IE for the reports.

Ok, so I will throw it out there, this is kinda on/off topic but I am a complete tech-less person. I have no idea what the difference in Chrome and IE. I understand that they are browsers for the internet, but why would one be better over the other? I see how many people like Chrome or Firefox, personally I have IE 9 because that is what was on my computer when I bought it or told to upgrade to from IE8. I think my computer moves pretty smoothly, on occasion I get error messages from CoRI or other websites, but I just try, try again.

Maybe someone can explain in very plain language and tell me why I should probably have other browsers and how/why switching between the two is done. smiling smiley Thank you.
Still have the Java Script error. SO, I called my Dell tech in India, of course. I allowed him to enter my computer. He assured me that a Java Script is definitely the fault of whatever website I am visiting. Period. So, it now takes about 45 minutes to submit one gas station shop. I have 7 from today. Scheduling says to just "keep trying." I am at my wits end .
I asked the person who answers the phone at CORI if they had a an IT dept. She did not know what I was talking about.
Ok, rant over.

use chrome and when the first error pops up check the box dont allow this page to create more errors. it will submit ok just make sure you fill in every box because it wont prompt you like i.e. does to do it and they will use that an excuse to have you resubmit.

Thanks for the tip. Wish I would have read this before spending the last hour & a half on 2 shops. Now all I need to do is figure out what Chrome is. I'm with SecretAgentMom...do you switch between the browsers? I went ahead and installed Chrome...now what?
oy.
Open it and import your bookmarks from IE. Go into the settings and decide what you want it to do and if you want it to be your default browser. If you want it to save usernames and passwords make sure you check the correct box and it will ask the first time you go to a new site. It is no different from using any other browser like IE or Firefox, except I find it moves much quicker.

it's also good to have another browser so if you get a virus it disables the one browser you were using and you can then go to the other browser and use it to download the fix to eliminate that browser. I can't tell you how many times I go to fix a friend's computer that got a virus and they only had one browser. Makes it much more difficult.

You are both AWESOME! And in plain English, no less. Thank you techman, thank you, Lisa.
Since you are mentioning Java, I'd like to share that I recently received (on 1/18/13) an email alert about a Java vulnerability from Norton By Symantec. You can either Google "Java vulnerability fix" or you can try these links to get more information & determine if this is what is causing your problem:

Oracle (Java) site:

Norton/Symantec site:
[community.norton.com]

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Norton, Symantec, Oracle or Java and I AM NOT A TECHIE PERSON!

Hope this helps!
The govt recommended last week everyone disable java until a real fix is issued. That would mean no one could enter cori reports if shoppers did that since they use java which is fast becoming an outdated standard as everyone converts to html5.

I am officially s Chrome user now. Literally, it has been life altering for me. No messages, no problems getting reports through.

Happy Girl.
To avoid the java script errors, I type the comments in a word document, cut-n-paste it into the report, then move on until I have to put in comments again.

It's is a pain, but it gets the reports in. I agree. There's nothing wrong with my computer or my program. ATT techs even helped me check programs to insure my end of the communication network is working correctly. Cori still says it's a problem at my end. Well ATT and I say it is not.
Interesting. I have 9 to do for tomorrow. I will use this trick if I run into the problem again. It looks like I am not the only one. BTW, I only get the error when reporting one particular client. The other gas station client report does not get the error.
Thanks.
I have decided to stop doing one of their clients until they either upgrade their system or they are going for $50. I can get through their other reports, but one gas station is horrible.
Thank you all! CoRI had me thinking I was crazy. For several weeks I've been getting that same error message for CoRI reports just for that one major blue and white gas station client. All other reports have been fine.
I began using Chrome, and could stop getting that infernal error message, then proceed normally with my reports.
HOWEVER...
Now CoRI is not receiving all my submitted photos. Can't submit the report without required photos, right? I've been submitting, but they're following up nearly every report with the dreaded "noon tomorrow" deadline for missing photos. On top of that, they're not getting the pictures when I then email the photos to them. My "missing" photos can only get through as additonal receipts uploaded onto the bottom of the CoRI home page.
I did over 350 shops with CoRI last year, well over half just for that one particular client. Only this year, after upgrading to a Windows 8 system and IE 10, do I now have problems.
The CoRI scheduler actually told me that I was the only one with the trouble getting the error message in reporting and the only one whose emails aren't reaching her, so she couldn't submit a tech support order. Further, I was told that the random photos turning up missing on the CoRI end were because I had reported through Chrome.
Can't report through IE, can't be assured of a complete report received through Chrome.
Glad to know that at least it's not just me.
I'm brand new to the forum (found it out of desperation, will stay because these discussions are great), so I'm not sure what protocol is for sharing information that's been posted, but would you guys mind if I let CoRI know that this problem really does exist beyond just me, and either point them to or send them copies of this thread?
There are problems. A family member of mine works for them. He sends photos thru IE9 and they don't get them. Yes the report won't go unless all info is there. He called them on it and the scheduler admitted to him it was THEIR software and she was sorry, but still needed the photos regardless of who's fault. That was the only reason she was giving until noon deadline, she/they knew it was their fault.
I was ready to spit nails last Saturday after repeatedly getting the 4454 error message. I finally went to my neighbor's computer to get the red and white gas station report to upload. I haven't been doing this client as the starting commission is too low, but this one went up enough to justify. Had I known the headache and frustration it was going to cause, I never would have taken it. Both my husband and neighbor said the same thing--that this company needs to enter the 21st century along with the rest of us.
Major breakthrough! I found that if I click on the "Compatibility View" button (looks like a torn piece of paper or a mini-cardiogram [which I have come close to needing when filing these infuriating reports!]) just to the left of the "Refresh" icon in the address pane at the top of IE10, then I don't get the constant and maddening error message referenced in this thread. Gotta press that button at the start of the report (after the receipt image has uploaded) because if you press it part way through, it wipes out everything you've entered so far.
Just filed two reports, and pressing Compatibility View did the trick both times. I'll wait to see if all the photos made it through before I declare complete victory.
But for now, Yay!
