Corporate Research International- Safari Internet

Hi! I just signed up for CoRI. I use several other MSCs with my Safari internet fine. It stated something about having to use Internet Explorer. Has anyone used this company with Safari successfully? I have Adobe and am able to watch the videos fine. I just don't want to do a shop and not be able to get paid for it due to the internet type. Any help is appreciated!

There are numerous threads on here talking about cori and their lack of intelligence to make their systems compatible with all current web browsers. Their site only officially works with an older version of IE. As far as them accepting shops done in other browsers, it depends on the reviewers mood.

You can load more than one internet browser on your Mac - I have Safari, Firefox, and IE on my MacBook, and have needed each one at some point. However, I haven't shopped for CORI since I got the Mac, so I don't know if my newer version of IE would work.

Since you're new to CORI I would only do one shop for them - take the easiest and least out-of-pocket one you can find - and see if you can send your report. If it doesn't, try another browser, and another. On another thread, some people say Chrome works for them.

If it works, I would next try one shop that requires photos, and see if your photos go through. If they don't at least you know it's not the browser.

If you have issues and the report won't send, at least you're only out one shop. Then switch to MSCs that don't operate in the dark ages.

NOTE: I'm not on the forum every day. If someone comments on my post, I might not reply right away. I've been a shopper since 1991. I've never done any work for a MS company in any other capacity.
I've tried Chrome and Firefox with them and now use IE only. After spending an hour or more to do a detailed report, I almost crack at the thought of it timing out and not being uploaded.
Have problems with ff, a popup keep appearing with every answer. I forgot to use IE, after 5 popups I started over with IE. Cori must have one of the original tech guys and have never heard of Mozilla FF or Chrome.
Thank you for all the input. I am undecided on if I want to download an additional internet browser. I guess it will depend on the shops they offer.
It is generally a good idea to have multiple browsers available anyway. I have Chrome, IE and FireFox.

you should always more then one browser so if you get a virus through one you can remove it using another. Having one browser makes it much more difficult to do so.

I use IE9 and it's the only browser I have on my computer. I have never had a problem submitting Cori shops.
Can someone more 'tech' than me explain how to go about adding IE? I have some great firewalls on my Mac and have never had a virus. It's been 4 years since my husband bought it. I am a big fan of Safari on Mac. I just want to be able to use multiple companies so I guess adding another browser is necessary. Thanks for all the input!
When I decided to start using Chrome, I Googled Chrome & followed the directions it gave for DOWNLOAD NOW...You should be able to do the same thing with IE.
You can google IE for Mac, but.... Microsoft quit updating their version for Mac a few years ago, they also do not have support for this product. Unless you run some sort of parallels for Windows on your Mac your IE version will be old and outdated. The only version of IE you can get for Mac is through some other third party source.

This is very unsafe for you AND for the companies CORI works with! We could be putting forms in on an outdated IE version and be hacked easily.
Thank you, pjaugustine! I googled and researched some. There are some not so great reviews and I am not sure it would be worth a risk. I think I am just going to have to quit with CoRI. I will stick with my bug free Safari and use the companies that are compatible. smiling smiley

Thank you everyone for your input!
I contacted CoRI and let them know I would need to terminate my contract. They contacted me saying they were working on being Safari, and other browsers, compatible and should be ready in the next 6-12 months.
In general, I would never terminate a relationship with an MSC over anything other than non-payment and even that will usually just keep me from accepting jobs rather than make such a final decision. You are not obligated to take any jobs and things change often in this business.

No reason to cancel the contract, just don't accept jobs until they are compatible.

I stayed on. I don't like to stay on any company I won't use but since they are working to be compatible, I don't see a reason to cancel.
Are you saying if companies don't have jobs in your area you terminate your agreement?

No, that is not what I am saying. I am saying that if I don't have a compatible browser, I will terminate. It is my own personal choice and I prefer my bank information not to be in places I won't use.
The problem is you never know when things will change. walesmaven pointed out that she has been with one company for years and never accepted any work and now has a lucrative route booked for next month. Trying to reduce the number of companies for any reason will reduce your potential earnings.

I am on many companies I haven't shopped, for that reason. My problem wasn't the shops. It was that they require a certain browser that I wasn't comfortable using on my computer.
I picked up on that all the other times you mentioned it. MSCs change things all the time.
