Cori offices being shutdown...

Received an email today that Stericycle is shutting down Cori's
offices in Ohio in July and will run the mystery shopping part
on it's own from their main offices. Looks like we will
be dealing with a new team of schedulers/editors. This
could also explain the slowdown in editing process lately

On May 28, 2013, Stericycle ExpertSOLUTIONS announced it will close its Findlay, Ohio facility effective July 31, 2013. This decision was made with the long-term future of the business in mind, as well as a desire to provide our clients with an even higher quality of service and expanded offerings.

We are confident that our mystery shopping business will continue to grow as an integral part of Stericycle's overall ExpertSOLUTIONS offerings, and realize that having top class auditors/mystery shoppers is vital to our success. Between now and the closing of the facility, all operations will be centralized at Stericycle's ExpertSOLUTIONS headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, and we are proactively working to ensure that this transition will be seamless for our mystery shopping auditors.

Stericycle remains focused on helping companies protect and enhance their brands, and are keenly aware of the value that you bring to our customers through the process. We are excited to offer some of the best mystery shopping opportunities in the industry, and appreciate your continued hard work and commitment. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact fieldservicemanager@stericycle.com.
I'm surprised it took them this long to do this. When a company gets bought out there are usually "synergies" announced from combining the two. Mystery shopping has become such a cutthroat, commoditized industry. Last year most of their employees began working from home anyway so the logical next step would be to shed the office altogether.

I hope they are just shutting down the physical offices and retaining most of the employees if they have already been working from home.

I'm guessing, but I imagine most of the employees will keep their job. Telecommuting is location-agnostic. What they are doing is shedding a physical building and the upkeep it requires. I can't remember if that building is owned by Mike Collins but recall an article about how he converted it from an old warehouse. If any employees leave (unlikely), it would probably only be ones whose job is redundant, such as accounting/payroll and maybe a management position. The editors, sales reps/account managers, etc. probably remain.

I just got an email from Kim thanking us for our dedication and time. It said she and Teresa will be there to help thru June and July.

I hope they are not out jobs. I really liked working for them.
Egads, here's hoping that any new editors aren't like some of the ones at IntelliShop.

Translation: they are out of a job once the transition takes place.

Remember, the original reason stericycle bought cori was for a certain
technology they wanted for their waste disposal business. Mystery Shopping
is not their core business so will be interesting to see if they stick with it
once the contracts with the various clients run out

Does anyone know if their shops are still going to be available for us?

They should be, right?
I love Stericycle, so I see this as a good thang.

So far I like Stericycle. What I don't love is their website, payment terms and payment method. Ironic since most of us hate CORI's website.

For the work I've done it has been net 30 (not awful) and check (really sucks).

This is depressing. I have a shop to do today for CORI and I cannot login to the shopper area.
I just talked to someone over at the Ohio office and was told they just found out about the office shut down on Tuesday. She and others at the office are being told the mystery shop department of Stericyle will remain and all the upgrades and issues everyone was having back in January and February were all part of the transfer.

I have a few reports that have been sent back to me saying "due to a Glitch in the system your photo's did not come through" I need to respond to a report from 15 days ago or my shopper rating will be affected because of their system not very good.
I wouldn't worry about those because they are sitting there submitted and being held on error. The concern is those of us that have not been able to submit because if the system comes back online and our jobs are dropped, another shopper could conceivably pick them up. Late last Friday night I received a request to submit a receipt again and it was from a shop submitted 8 to 10 days earlier. I submitted it on Monday or Tuesday and all was good.
