Maritz Question

Hey there!

I decided to apply for Maritz, but this is the first company I have applied to that has asked for a copy of my car insurance. Is this on the up and up? I just felt a little uncomfortable and don't understand why they need it...

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Maritz is a stand-up outfit. I've done hundreds of shops for them. Great support, dependable pay.
They do LOTS of shops where you'll need a car, and by requiring proof of auto insurance I suspect they're covering their backs re. liability, or their clients insist on it, or they will filter out shops where you need a car if you don't provide insurance.
They're a really good starter MSC. Enjoy!
I just signed up for them recently. They haven't asked for a copy of it... Is it in reference to a shop or did they just ask for it in general?
Well, they said it was part of the application process. Weird you didn't get it, too.
I guess it depends on how long you have been with them. I was never asked for either one. I would not hesitate if they asked me now...

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
Same here. Never had to submit either a DL or proof of insurance.

The DL and proof of insurance was something new they started when they made the big move to require EINs for all ICs. Then it was not well accepted by the ICs and Maritz dropped the mandatory EIN requirement. I think they now require those things from new shoppers who register but I don't think there has been an attempt to collect the data from shoppers who were previously registered.
Shopped with them for three years - never been asked for it. I enjoy shopping with Maritz. If you get in good with the right schedulers, they will take care of you. I do red white and blue fuel shops and they are only supposed to let you do 4 in a day, but they always let me do more.

I've never had a pay issue with them, just remember their dates when it comes to getting paid - anything submitted by the 15th of the month, paid on the 30th, anything from the 16th-31st, paid the 15th of the following month.
A lot of their shops are gas station shops. They probably want to be sure you have insurance in case you crash into a pump and set the station on fire.

You could probably do their bank shops without it, since you can walk to a bank. But you have to buy gas at the gas stations, which requires you to have a car to put it into.

I pray it does not occur that the last thing I did before I died was vacuum the house or eat broccoli.
I was asked for my Car Insurance and photo ID. They prefer Driver's license. They probably have their eye on you for gas stations. A lot of <Ooops! Watch the ICA violations!!!> audits going on right now. That is my first assignment.

Welcome to the forum, but please remove the client's name from your post. The MSC is named in the thread, and we can't identify any client of a specific MSC. ICA and forum protocol violation.

Stick around. This forum is awesome!
I started with Maritz in January, and yes, I had to submit both. I assumed it was to cover the gas shops, but it could also be a background check, especially because they work with banks. Not a shady company and no nefarious intent. Proceed confidently.
