Gapbuster is a class act.

They call me for the cell phone shops . They paid $210 for 3 shops in Maine. Then I shopped the wrong location in NH. OOPS. I offered to reshop or cancel . They asked me to reshop and would pay me $17.00 for the wrong location.

Assuming I get paid correctly (our relationship is new...heck, I'm not even sure what schedule they keep), I like them! Or, at least, I like their shops.
They called me the other day and wanted me to do one of those phone shops 150 miles away. They said they were "willing to open their pocket book to get me to do it". I said I don't think you can offer me enough to get me to do it but lets see. He starts out with an offer of 100 and I said that would barely cover my gas. He says ok then what will it take to get you to do it because you are the closest shopper we have to that store. I said its going to take me all day to drive out to that job and back and its going to be 95 degrees which is going to be rough on my vehicle. He says Ok then how does 250 dollars sound. I said you are getting closer to the figure Im looking for. He then says how about 350 dollars and I say for $400 dollars I will do it. Then he says he will have to check his budget and will call me back in 20 minutes. Sure enough he calls back in 20 minutes and I cant make myself answer the phone! I know that hes decided to pay me the 400 and since then I have decided I dont want to do it for 400. So I dont answer. He ends up calling back 4 or 5 times that night and I dont answer. I hate to pass it up but I just dont feel like driving on an all day 300 mile road trip on a 95 degree day to make 400 dollars that I wont see until the end of October anyways. Maybe if it was not so hot and I was more broke. He should of took me up on that 400 while he had a chance.
Those sound like really nice phone shops...

I have a bad taste in my mouth for GAPBuster right now. I did 2 shops for them that was quite a ways away, for much less than that. One was a mall kiosk, which I'm almost certain the instructions said that a photo was not required for. So I got a business card instead of a photo (I didn't take my phone into the mall anyway so I wouldn't accidently pull it out since you're not supposed to be familiar with smartphones). They rejected the shop, so I only got paid for 1 of the 2. To their credit, the shop did show back up on their board so they didn't just find a reason to reject and use it anyway.

They dropped me YEARS ago for the "no reason".....way back when they had all the fast food shops....haven't worked for them since.
HA! Someone with a very bad accent just called me from GAPbuster (at least that's what I *think* she said). Private number on the caller ID and no number in the "urgent please call back ASAP" voicemail. LOL

They are at the end of a roll out on those phone jobs and just have a few dozen left scattered across the country. If one of these road warriors in this forum wanted to make a couple thousand dollars real quick nows the chance. These guys are desperate to get those jobs done. You could get 2000 out of them real easy to do a route of 4 or 5 of those phone jobs. I should do it and I might do it this week but right now Im taking a pass on it.
Yeah, that's what I figured.

If I had a car, I'd be all over that. I got one local one for just under $50, so I'm pleased.

Don't give Gapbuster your cell phone number, though. They will call you internationally on it and you get to pay that charge regardless of whether you end up completing any shops or not.

That sounds like "urban legend" at best!
Gapbuster has called me from Australia and the only thing it does is use my cell phone minutes if it happens to be during the day.

Anyone else have a problem with these getting cancelled/unpaid?

I happened to have very rude staff members at the cell phone shop I visited and now I am not getting paid. sad smiley

I too havea "bad taste" in my mouth about this company. I did several shops, which were bonused, several months, maybe a year ago. I still have not been paid all the money promised (bonused portion) and owed me for the shops I completed. After several unaswered emails, calls and more calls, I gave up. Although they "hounded me" by phone and email to take the shops. Never again.
