Heads Up On Maritz Clarifications

In the past, I got emails at my email address when they needed clarification on a shop. Those emails have apparently stopped, and now the clarification request is on the website only. I didn't check in for two or three days and I missed the 24 hour window for clarification on a long pump rate and clarification on a dimly lit location, two different jobs and one of them at night. Both reports were correct as reported. I recently deleted my phone number from the site, not that I ever minded getting calls about work available. I deleted my phone number because of a different type of call and certainly from a different type person than I usually deal with. If you're counting on your emails to your address to alert you to difficulties, that may not work. Or maybe I'm just getting more specialized personal treatment.

Hmmmmm...I received an email stating that I uploaded the same photo for 2 different gas station audits. It stated both were being deleted and returned to me for correction. So I log in to correct them and both of them still say no action needed. So I sent an email..no answer. Thats been 3 or 4 days ago and they still havent been returned to me for correction. I wonder whats going on with them.
Well, at least you got an email, so they're still sending them out at least part of the time to at least part of the shoppers. On three of mine, I didn't get any notice except in the emails on the website and I don't even know how to get to them except that they pop up on sign in. I caught one clarification request in the current shops listing, but I missed out on two jobs that were perfect as far as I know. Neither one of those reports needed correction. I don't know what's happening. Maybe they're going through a rough patch at the office. Their office is supposed to be open right now according to their own automated greeting, but it's closed. The greeting goes something like this: Our office is closed now. . . We are open Sunday 9 a.m. to whatever CST. I called at 9:16 a.m. CST and got that greeting.

I wonder if it has to do with the lay off's that were mentioned a while back? There was one I did not get an email for. I just happened to notice it when I loged in to report some of my other jobs. At the time I just thought I caught it before they had a chance to send the email. Reading your post, I guess not, so good thing I had other jobs to report or I would have lost out on that one.
Yes, we all need to check the website every day until we're paid. Can't depend on email notices from them anymore. It's tough to lose that work. Both of those jobs lost were problematic for me, one out of the way and the other a shop in the dark. I didn't realize I had to watch my back to that extent. Now I know and I hope no one else loses work.

Well I am so dumb. Of course Maritz was not open earlier. The time changed last night. Duh Duh Duh.

MDavisnowell ~ Didn't you read my post about "Reminder to Fall Back?" One poster didn't see the MS relevancy. I think your situation is a perfect example. Maritz seems more phone call friendly than e-mail friendly. I hope everything works out with them. Keep us updated.

I noticed last round of shops they weren't sending out reminders on "on hold" anymore. I can't stand that. I have to log in constantly to see what is going on. I did get an email about a duplicate photo for 2 different locations. But that wasn't true, they were independent photos of that location taken on the appropriate day. My job was never returned to me for clarification, so I guess they realized their mess up accusing me of duplicate photos. Oh well.

On a side note, it seems like it is taking the green team a lot longer to edit jobs and get them cleared off your board. At least mine are. They are about 3 weeks behind me. Frustrating, I need the reimbursements back for more shops for them.
I called Maritz again and got an answering machine that took a message, then called back later and got a person. The person I spoke with hadn't heard those emails weren't coming through and was concerned. She said someone from the team would have to handle it and they would call me Monday. I have no hope regarding those two shops. Too bad for us they're no longer sending the personal emails on clarifications and didn't let us know. Disappointing.

Shop2, I didn't see your post in time. Thanks for making the effort.

Do you think the sudden cessation of emails might have anything to do with you removing your phone number?

Okay, I know I should probably be too polite to ask, but then I wouldn't be me, so-o-o-o can you give us more details about the "different type of person" or the "different type of call"?

There is a very gruff and unfriendly person who works there who cuts you off, won't let you speak, and is generally very rude. I'm assuming mdn was getting calls from her and didn't want to anymore. I know I wouldn't like getting calls from her.

That was exactly what I was thinking, but she wouldn't drive me to deleting my phone number because I enjoy telling her "no".

Stillearning, I'm going to assume the phone calls are not connected to procedures on handling the shops themselves and will give them the benefit of the doubt unless they tell me different.

I don't think the phone calls and emails are related because they still have both of my phone numbers and use them 2 and 3 times a day, but the emails stopped a couple of months ago for me. I happen to be on my Maritz account a lot because of my gas route and I just happened to see the on hold shops. I was puzzled because I never got an email, didn't go to spam either.

That's exactly what happened with me. I try to be careful when I am uploading photos when I have done several of the same stations so as not to upload the wrong one. But I do make mistsakes and I was willing to correct it. But, like you, I guess they realized their mess up as they never returned the job to me.
On one of my jobs they wanted a clarification of the pump flow rate. The rate I reported was correct but it was longer than expected because the pump started and stopped and started and stopped etc. On the other job they questioned my decision that the PID was not sufficiently lit. They said they were able to see everything in the photograph, but on site it was very dim and I almost missed it entirely on the highway and actually drove past the station before I realized I had passed it. With my camera I can take a picture of a candle in the wind and shame on me for sending them something they could see. I was familiar with the location, had worked it previously and had seen it many many times over several years and still drove past it. That's dim. If I had clarified these reports, I would have clarified them exactly as reported. They have a block on the report itself to confirm an unexpected flow rate (apparently a confirmation inside the report is just not good enough).

You know what, I'm stressed out over that phone call and now everything irritates me. I have thirteen more audits on my schedule. That's thirteen more jobs on which I have to watch my back every morning until I get paid for each and every shop. I'll sleep on it and see how I feel in the morning. The two shops I lost were part of a multiple shop route. Now they'll probably want them done over? Both of them out of town, of course, of course, of course, and one of them a night shop. This gets better and better.

MDavisnowell....why don't you call them tomorrow and speak with someone on the specific team and see if you can clarify it. I know how you feel, I would be irritated too (and sometimes am!). Maybe telling someone else on the team that the emails aren't coming thru and this is the reason you missed the chance to clarify. IDK...just trying to get you your money and less of a hassle. sad smiley
Thanks, SAM, for your concern. I'm putting that behind me and tomorrow I'll start on what's left on my calendar, finish it up, and check my backside twice a day to conclusion. Let's all stay alert that we might not receive these notices in our personal emails and let's know that we need to check the website constantly for any clarification requests.

Strange enough....I got the emails last night. Haven't gotten them in a few months, but there they were there this morning when I checked my email. Sent out 1:11 am, which would be Maritz usual time for me to get them (they are CST and I am EST).

Maybe your phone call took care of it?
That's good, but really, don't you feel like you can never depend on those emails again? Ever?

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
All right, here's what I found out for those who care. Just a few minutes ago I returned Maritz's call to me which came through after I left home this morning. I was unable to speak with the person who called me, and who may have known more, because she had already gone home for the day. The person I spoke with did not know what a request for clarification is and couldn't understand what I was talking about, but she checked the job numbers and told me both had been sent to the client. I said I didn't understand how that was possible because I never furnished the required clarification. She put me on hold and checked with a supervisor and told me it was correct that both audits had been sent to the client. That's all the information I could get.

OK, here's another HEADS UP. I'm not sure those jobs on which they sent me internal website emails for clarification ever showed up on the Current Shops as "On Hold". I can't swear they didn't, but I never saw them. I don't think we can depend on the "On Hold" notation on the Current Shops list. If they needed something, shouldn't they have been "On Hold"? Be sure to check both the Current Shops list for "On Hold" shops, and check the emails which show up when you first log in for "clarification requests".

Pure craziness. But sounds typical Maritz. It seems like unless you get to talk to who called you, no one knows anything at all.

So...this could be good news for you! Your reports went through!
Not sure it matters to anyone, but I think the problem with the green gas stations being edited is that the entire green gas station editing team leaves at 1PM daily. There is NO ONE there to ask a question for clarification after that. I had a weird one that the book didn't cover and that I had never seen before at two different stations on two different days and tried to call them.

On one day I was lucky to catch someone leaving the building, and the phone gal called her back to answer the question before she left for the day. On the other one, I was just out of luck and the gal who answered for that team told me to 'use my best judgement' and score it in any line item that I thought I could adjust to include it. (It was kind of a big branding issue, but one not addressed anywhere.)

I have one on hold today that I sent in last week on Tuesday. I have 93 of the green gas stations on my route, and I finished all of them last week. All 93 of them had the same type of photo for one of the questions, and no one ever asked for anything different, on this round or any of the other rotations I've done. The one on hold today had a request for a totally different angle on one of the core required photos.....one not outlined by the directions. Needless to say, I don't have that particular photograph.....why would I??? I sent in a note tonight....but don't have great hopes for resolution.
Quilter, do you mind saying which photo it is that they're now asking for a different angle? I do a bunch of the green stations as well, so I'm just curious.
The one of the POP on the side panel. The last request said that I needed to have a shot of the entire side panel, from the bottom of the island to the top of the valance. I've been taking pictures of the POP, or the POP hardware. Who knew?
Hmm that's interesting. I take my photos just like you do (with only the top half showing, where the POP would be/is.
I'm going to assume that it may be a new editor, or one from another team filling in? Like I said, I took the same type of photo for 92 other locations, and have had no request for anything else on any of those. I just looked, and all but 4 of them have been edited and are off to the client with no holds.

Update: I checked, and the one that was on hold had been cleared and sent away to the client. Apparently, they re-thought it.
