Gfk Mystery Shops - All for Males in my area

Hi All,

I live near N. Myrtle Beach SC and for Gfk the only emails I keep getting are for a restaurant (name deleted by Moderator for ICA violation) and be a male between 18-44 years old. On my profile it says I'm female so I don't know why I keep getting these emails every day. The restaurants close to me are male only, the only one that gender doesn't matter is for one in Carolina Forest, which is too far away for me :/. I think I'll be glad when I move back to CT as it seems more shops are available for most companies than in the South.

N. Myrtle Beach, for that matter the whole Grand Strand, is pretty limited in shops across most of the MSCs. I'm pretty close to you, and end up doing the same jobs over and over and over. Not complaining. For a second income it's not bad money, but I feel your pain, its frustrating when all you can get is burgers and gas stations.

Jon, at least you could take the male Wings. LOL

Be careful of ICA stuff! smiling smiley

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
Ugh, a fellow shopper just deactivated from this company for the spamming they got for these shops. I don't blame them. I don't need individual emails for each location and each scenario. When will they (Brooke) learn?
I'm not signed up with GFK or I might take ASanar07 to lunch. lol.

ASaner 07, you can always take a male of the proper age with you on these shops, so they're not "spamming" with these e-mails. Although they send so many it can be frustrating!

At the end of the month, they often drop the gender and/or age requirement if they haven't been able to schedule all the shops. That's usually when I take them, because DH & I are older than 44!

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!

She can take me with her and let GFK buy us lunch!!!

The schedulers for Illinois & Indiana are rather friendly, they do email a lot up here, but I've also learned if you ask them about a restriction they can usually work around it. So even if it isn't the end of the month, if you want to do one, shoot them an email and ask.

Agreed -- I mentioned that to the scheduler once (that they were all for males only that I saw), and she stated that if I am able to bring a male of the needed age, then I qualify (the scheduler for my area is Christy, who seems quite reasonable). I don't worry about getting spammed. I actually like seeing all the shop offers come in; I see them as more potential for making money.

Don't give up. I just picked up one with a higher bonus than what was offered (it needs to be completed soon). I get to go eat wings with my hubby, get reimbursed AND get paid a bigger fee for going out to dinner. Sounds good to me! : )
I did this a few years ago. I thought I would make some money, but in the end it was not worth it. I recently signed up again because I found myself going to certain restaurants that had been listed. I figured I could do a little write up and get reimbursed for somewhere I already go. It won't make me money but maybe I can do dinner for discount or free.
I find I only sign up for restaurant shops if I'm interested in actually getting food from those restaurants (same with the grocery shops). There's no way I do these to earn money; it's to not spend as much money (correction -- I did a couple of months ago pick up a coffee shop; I wanted the coffee but specifically did it for the amount being offered as the bonus bumped it up to $17 including purchase reimbursement when it's normally $11.50 including purchase reimbursement). I just picked up two grocery shops for next weekend; I was waiting for those so I could cut down on my grocery bill for Thanksgiving since I have a family party potluck to attend where there around 50-60 of us (now that I think about it, I should try to pick up more for after Thanksgiving for regular grocery shopping).

I'm trying to find restaurant shops in LA Thanksgiving weekend since I'll be in town but only found one so far for a Japanese BBQ in Beverly Hills that only reimburses up to $20. I think I could go to a restaurant not on a shop and spend less money than go eat in Beverly Hills on a shop so I'll pass.
Are those the wings shops? It makes me mad I don't qualify because I'm over 50. We eat wings, too!

My DH and I are over 50, and some of these shops start out with a gender restriction but without an age limit (for example, a take-out dinner, male perspective, any age), and toward the very end of the month, they'll often lift all restrictions to get the shop done. I haven't signed up for one this month yet but hope to grab one next week if they lift restrictions! Am craving those wings!
