whats the best company you guys have worked for?

hey all whats the best company you guys have worked for? for me it has been CRI... i really enjoy the fast payments... its not the greatest pay wise but im just wondering... mainly cause i have given my social security number out to about 30 different companies and have only found 2 that really do shops in my area...

so far i have completed shops for sentry (60-90 days to get paid is idiotic), CRI (which seemes to have really slowed down now), Certified (whoo hoo did my first theater check for them it was short, fun, and pays 15 for about an hours work), and franchise compliance (only had one posted shop in my area but it was 7 bucks for about 10 minutes of work which equals a whopping 42 bucks an hour)

I think my current favorite is A Closer Look. All the shops available to me are reimbursement only, but they are mostly casual dining where the two of us can go and have a nice dinner without worry about going over budget unless we both go top of the menu. Their reports fit very well the way I think so are quick and easy for me. I wish they paid by direct deposit or Paypal, but they still pay by check. Their payments are timely. They drive me crazy because you MUST leave at least a 15% tip but they do not reimburse beyond 15% and warn you the client may reject the shop if you goof and tip under 15%.

They haven't had anything here since March, but that 15% thing drove me crazy too. If the service was wonderful, I would tip more. If the service stinks, I would not give 15%, and if really horrible might not even come close to 15%...so them forcing me to give 15%....Auwe!

My favorite companies are favorites for various reasons, but always, respect for the shopper is the big one; sticking up for the shopper and the company, not just throwing the shopper to the wolves as if the shopper could never be right; paying well and per contract; nice to deal with always goes a long way, too.

In no particular order: CSA, Customer Impact, SPG, Premier, TNS, Dynamic Advantage.

Market Force. NOT!

Decent compensation is also part of the equation, but that's not the only factor. I appreciate being treated like the intelligent honest person that I am. And I appreciate being treated like a person in general, not just a "shopper number".

In no particular order: Mintel, Kern (I know they are scheduling, but I still enjoy working with them), Beyhond Hello.
I love Customer Impact, too - they pay on time & are SO nice. Also Sinclair Customer Metrics - not a lot of shops & the pay is not the highest (not the lowest, either) but they have reasonable report forms & are very nice & always pay on time. (Pay on time is important to me - along with not having to beg the MSC for my money.....once I've earned it, I just want them to send it when they say they will....) One of my new favorites is MINTEL - I see few jobs here with them but the pay is pretty good - & they pay FAST - like within days! Feedback Plus used to be my favorite but I haven't seen any shops to speak of here in several months - they are a great company, nice schedulers & pay fast - so if you get a chance to work on their shops - grab them! Consumer Impressions is another of my favorites - but I don't see much with them - they have a fastfood chain here - but my scheduler is wonderful & they pay fast & scheduling is easy - wish they had more shops available. The best thing to do is go to Jacob's list on this forum of MSCs & sign up with lots - that's what I did - and e-mail notifications of shops start pouring in and yu can pick and choose. You'd probably sign up with some that will never have shops in your area, but you never know.
I've been trying to decide who's my favorite. I just don't have a 'best' or 'favorite' MSP. I have favorite kinds of shops though. New homes, banks, grocery stores and services like carpet cleaning and oil changes.
I haven't been doing this for all that long, but my favorite so far is About Face. I wish they had more shops available. Easy forms and wonderfully nice schedulers.
I just did one for AF and I would not at all consider it "easy"...It was lengthy and narrative intensive for the $. But it depends on what you are shopping. I knew going in it was going to be like that, and I wanted the shop for personal reasons.

Okay, Mert, if you don't have a/some favorite firm/s, who is the least likely to annoy you of them? :-)

I also like Feedback Plus, Austin Mom, as well as Mintel. However, neither have shops that often here. But both are nice, and pay really fast, as you said. I haven't done anything for either in 2009 as there wasn't anything here. But both are good.

Secret Shoppers. Sorry about my non-answer before. I wasn't trying to dodge, but I like every MSP who pays fairly, respects our relationship, and has good jobs.
yeah i know... lol after what you guys have said i went back and applied at another 40 sites all from volition... sigh... still no luck... oh well... maybe i need to move.. lol like that is going to happen...

so far i have run across three site that want you to send them information by fax such as a w9 form, drivers license card, and proof of insurance... do any of you guys have any experience with something like that?

W-9s are standard with some MSPs and I wouldn't hesitate with a secured site. Driver's license would typically be needed to prove age for compliance shops. Proof of insurance - is this car, home, life or medical?
If I have found information on them from a legitimate source I will accommodate as long as they seem to have a positive shopper reputation.
it just seems like a long drawn out process to me... i dont even know which companies they were... just wondering if you guys have had experience with any that demanded all that paperwork...

Yes, and I have had ones that wanted me to send a photograph which they stated was because they wanted to know/see who they were talking with. But my reaction was that rather they wanted to be able to compare the photo to client report of having spotted the shopper.
yeah there was that too... totally not interested in giving my full name, ssn, w9, AND photo... seems like a red flag to me...

i prefer to be able to blend in to a crowd...*waves hand* YOU CANT SEE ME!

You are going to rule out a lot of opportunities before you even see them by drawing a line in the sand at this point in time in your shopping ventures. If the company is reputable you have minimal risk.

Has anyone worked with Intl. Service Check....I just applied, for what I think is a MS job....not a spokesmodel, but you could have fooled me with that application...
I shop for them about once a month. It has always been through a scheduling company. Their forms drive me crazy as they require you say done before the next question comes up, but for some shops they pay well and they give good feedback on your report.

Unless you don't mind waiting 4 to 5 months for payment, stay away from JC&Associates. Did shops in March, got paid at end of July. The pay is all reimbursement, so that hurts!
Can we keep this to the BEST companies and leave the negative stuff for other threads about companies?

I've had good luck with Ath Power, Maritz and Bare. Some excellent people at all three of those companies.
