Scam

Homebound1961-

I am sorry to hear that you decided to take something like this to a public forum in the manner that you have. I'm not attempting to cause an argument or further distress-but to see that you have only posted once to this forum, provided little information to support your issue, and did so in an unprofessional manner- it causes me to wonder about your intent.

I must say, I find it hard to believe that you are providing strictly all of the details of what occurred- for instance what was the shop date? My guess is that it was on or about the last date of October 2013. That would mean that it had NOT yet been ninety (90) days since your original posting. As Sentry states that the shop was accepted on November 1. That would make February 1, 2014 at ninety (90) days. Do you dispute the date that Sentry gave for the date the shop was submitted and accepted?

Let's face it- As Sentry Marketing responded to you- not only when you called (in directing you to place a trouble ticket), but also when you placed your trouble ticket correctly. It is clearly indicated on the Sentry Marketing website (www.sentrymarketing.com) how, when and in what manner to place a trouble ticket. This is not some obscure link found “somewhere” within their site- it is right there as part of “Contact Us” and available without logging in.

To contact twice in one day without reviewing the shopper agreement (which is clearly provided to you with the payment cycle) is not going to get your payment to you any quicker- or outside of the terms of payment set forth in the shopper agreement. Sentry's payment cycle is clearly communicated at sixty (60) days- which based on the above information would be January 1, 2014- yesterday. Also- you need to remember, this does not account for the time it takes for the United States Postal Service to deliver.

Do you realize, Homebound1961- that your post is considered Libel? This is a serious offense that can be a federal offense- as it is over the internet and more than likely crosses state borders. Just putting that out there- that your post is defamation of character and punishable by law.

There are so many true scams out there that hurt this industry- why attempt to cause more with inaccurate accounting of experiences to a company that is legitimate to cause more issues with this industry. As the posting guidelines state- We're in this together, add a positive/ viable (my word) contribution to the community and be honest.

By the way- schedulers do read this board (and others). They also have their own forums which they communicate between each other- not just within one company, please do not be naïve in thinking that they do not- it will only hurt your chances of being scheduled for shops in the future.

Off the soap box now. smiling smiley

After reading the posts here ( I commented once), I signed up with them before New Year. My hard drive is on it's last legs but I ordered a new one which should be here next week. I intend to finish my application with Sentry. The OP has done nothing to change my mind about what this company's about.

I know if I had a problem with a company, I would approach them and if it didn't work out, I would NOT post here like the OP did..it is so unprofessional.

Have a great day, folks! smiling smiley
Be careful with Sentry, they will be very nice to you the first time you perform a shop, then after the first, they will tell you to use cash, this is where they will find a reason not to pay you. They gave the client my report, but told me that the report was not useable...right.

Let me know if you need help with a shop that you were told was not used, they are beginning to earn a reputation for this type of activity. I have been working with a Mystery Shopping, Mystery Shopping company that reviews MSC's for large clients.

Expose the MSC's that have no scruples.
Okay okay...are we on camera here? Smile! Here we go again folks...

They gave the client your report but it wasn't useable? How do you know that? You have inside information? I bet Sentry would love to know this.

Am I still on camera?
You may think they used your report but you can't know they used your report. That's not the way it works. Neither the company nor the client would tell you they used your report.

western,

I do not know who you are, if you are registered to shop with our company, or if you have completed an assignment for us. If you believe that we have wrongly withheld payment from you, please contact me at your first opportunity so that I may have research your claim. My email address is dave@sentrymarketing.com.

I hope to hear from you soon because shopper payment issues are important and we take these matters very seriously.

It's hard for me to imagine how strict the non-disclosure rules would be on someone who's mystery shopping MSCs. And I'd think that anyone who had a personal animus toward a company would definitely be ineligible.
Ok folks, things are getting a bit "titchy". I can say from past experience, Sentry has always paid as promised, and I have never needed to send a reminder. If you have an account and go to the knowledge base area, there are instructions for how to follow up on a payment if need be. With that said, I can understand how we can get nervous when we are worried about being stiffed, but we need to keep in mind that errors do happen on both sides of the fence. If something happens with a payment, it does not mean that the company is bad. They are as human as we are, and sometimes there really are issues beyond their control. I have come to this group with payment questions before, and actually considered dropping a company, but in the end I realized that the issue was not an intentional error. The scary thing here is the threats to go to the client. We sign promises to never contact the client. If we start using that as our threat, then why did we sign the agreement in the first place?
We signed the agreement because we expected to be treated fairly. If we are not, simply kiss the contract good bye and do what you must to receive a fair result...

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.

They were nice to me the first time and each subsequent times. The reason to pay cash and use an alias is so that you can continue to do those (nice...relaxing...great for my back) shops. I am too lazy to go back a few years to dig up my records, but I'm pretty sure I have done around 8 of them, using cash. My reports were accepted and I was paid according to their schedule.
