Bare shipping shop question

My first shop for them, I was supposed to do the box the location sells and my item did not fit into that box. I tried every one of the boxes the location sold. nothing would fit completely. My box ended up weighing 17 pounds. Don't do that!!! I was extremely blessed the editor took my report and stated she would try to get the client to cover the payment but it wasn't guaranteed. They did pay a portion of the shipping. It was completely my fault. I didn't realize their boxes would be so small and I was shipping to Michigan. The next shop I did, still did not do very good. It only had 5 little pieces of something in it and the shipping was over $8. I love these shops cause they are easy to do when you do them the right way, but I prefer the other way to ship that I cannot mention here.

I have double checked to make sure I haven't typed anything that doesn't need to be here. But if you see something, please no hate mail. I am still learning too.

The complete shipping cost is only covered for 2 (exactly 2 pounds, not a fraction of an ounce more) to Zone 4 or less. Sometimes I ship between 2 and 3 pounds to Zone 1 and it costs a little more which I am prepared to pay. I report the full charge, and occasionally the full shipping fee is paid.

There is a limit on how much they will reimburse for a purchased box, whether you purchase it yourself at a different store, or at the location you are at. The limitations are different for every type, and they reinforce these to the penny. There is one box which always costs me $0.09 too much to buy.

Unless you are shipping bell bars or similar hunks of metal, I am hard pressed to figure out what could weigh 17 pounds and still fit into one of the boxes they sell. Maybe multiple 5 pound bags of sugar (anyone notice that 5 poudn bags of sugar now only weigh 4 pounds?), but I am not sure they would fit. Reams of paper from Staples, maybe?
