Dear Bare International,

It is very misleading to send e-mails titled "If you're 21 and over you can shop!", only to read in the body of the e-mails that you must be between 21-30 years old.

Perhaps you are having difficulty filling these shops (which I'm assuming you are because I get roughly 10 of these a day), but I don't appreciate the misleading title.

Sincerely,
Annoyed Shopper

The email is actually written by the scheduler not the company offering the shops. They know I am way over 30 but my daughter is in the age range. the scheduler got mad when I told her I could not take my daughter as she was undergoing treatment for cancer and could not drink. Now I just delete these and move on.
Yeah, I don't do those anymore. You want me to drive an hour away on a day's notice for $5 when the reimbursement doesn't cover everything you have to order?

PASS.
Can someone give me an idea of how complicated these 21-30 dining shops are from Bare? I am considering one with a nice bonus, but don't want to spend two hours on a long-winded report to eat the type of food served at their client's establishment. These are the "reveal to manager if not carded" type. Not the most pleasant shops around if the server/bartender fails, but that is his/her responsibility. Better a careless server lose a job than a minor being served alcohol and driving drunk...that often does not have a happy ending.
The report will take a new timer 45 minutes to an hour. I have done several and it only takes me 30 minutes for the report now. The report deals with timing and taste and presentation of the food and drink. The main focus is the carding for alcohol. They do expect you to order alcohol, an appetizer, and an entree. They also expect you to tip 20%. It is hard to get in under the reimbursement and impossible with another guest. Hope this helps. Ed

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Trashman: Skip it. Reimbursement will not cover. It takes me a good 90 minutes to do these to the standard they expect, and one I did took closer to three hours because the service was so awful. I refuse to do them anymore.
Thanks for the tips, Buffalo & Nina. Looks like it will be a month of "Sundays" before I accept this casual dining joint shop!
I actually just grabbed this shop by me for lunch with $10 bonus will do myself.

Warning Warning Warning..... Alert...

Do not take this shop

1) I just completed my last of these shops. It was not the steak one but is the exact same shop otherwise. It is impossible to do with 2 people for $35 and meet the ordering requirements.
2) The report is very detailed and long long long. It has several narratives and a ton of yes no questions. It took me an hour to do.

I had a $10 pay bonus plus reimbursement. But between un-enjoyable meal due to timing and paying attention to everything plus the legnth of the report total time 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours for free meal and $10. May work for some but most no way. Does anyone remember who originally had this client shop was just about the carding and you could order what you wanted the manager comped the meal you just paid the alcohol and it was single person?

This is posted in a similar new thread may get combined.

Sounds like the latest version of this shop--with steak and shaker drinks--can only be done by one person for the money they are giving the shopper. No thanks!

What my question is with these is we all know that it is not good for a minor to drink and drive (if served). However, is it any better for a 21 year old to drink and drive? Just because it was legal to serve them, does that mean just because they are 21, they won't be driving?

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
