TrendSource

Is it my imagination or do these people have some of the nitpickiest QC editors in the world.

I am reading their "Issues" that they sent me, and I have to go back and tell them things like:

"The answer to this question is already in my narrative three different time, explianed in full detail, in question 1.1, question 3.2 and question 5.4 (a)
But yes, the employee did stand on one leg, stick his finger in his belly button and say 'Welcome to Tennessee Tom's Tattoo Trailer, Two tatoos for twenty today'? as required in the manual."

These were my first jobs for this company, and although the pay was decent, I'm not sure it was justified by the time I spent doing the tedious reports or by the amount of time I have spent dealing with nitpicking.

Is it just me having a bad day, or are they always like this?

I have not had that experience with any MS I have done for them. I have had it once or twice on a BV, and what I really dread is writing over again, ad naseum, "I checked the entire store, including blah blah blah..." for the price audits.

Ugh. sorry you are having to deal with that. I've only done one shop for them so far. It was pretty easy, no issues with the report, and I got paid the very next day!
Is that typical to be paid the next day after a report is turned in and accepted?
Not at all. Most companies take 30-60 days to pay. There are a few that pay every two weeks or so and if your work is completed with all proofs of visit submitted by the day before payments go out you will sometimes luck out and get paid REALLY fast. I have worked with some very small MSPs that put a check in the mail the same day they got/reviewed/accepted my shops, but this is rare. Many companies will tell you what their pay cut off dates are, but just because it is the last day of the month to then be paid the 15th of the month, don't expect your shop submitted on the last day of the month to be paid on the 15th if it has not been accepted with all proofs by the end of their working day.
Trendsource is definitely not the norm! They will often verify on the morning of their check run for a shop done the evening prior, and pay you on that check run. Except for the fact that most of their shops do not pay that well, I like TS. Their shops are easy and they always pay on time.

I have done many shops for this company. Due the shop, do the report and they may take up 5 days to approve it. This being said, they pay on the 5th and the 20th. (or there about)
So if you do a shop on the first, they take the 5 days to review it, you would get your check on the 20th.
Could never understand how come it takes them so long to process a report that is more or less a yes and no format, with a reciept.
oh well, I will still do them and wait for them to do their thing

Wow. I've never had a shop take 5 days to be approved. The longest has been 3 days and that was a shop done Friday night and it got approved Monday morning.

If I do a shop on the 4th, it has always been paid the 5th (or 6th or 7th if the 5th is a holiday/weekend).
The only time anything has ever taken more than a day to verify for me is when there was an issue, like a store was closed and they had to check it. Other than that, everything gets done by them right away.

I had one issue with them on a report and I had the same repsonse. I think they are almost "canned responses" where they just fill in the blank and the email goes off.

They do pay fast though!
I think the majority of editors have a set of canned responses to choose from, and a few will either add a few words or actually write something personal to the shopper.

TrendSource is a great company and although they might put you on 3 months probation, (got in over my head at the beginning of MS) they are forgiving, unlike another company I wont mention. And if you apologize and ask to be re-instated, they are human about it.
I was surprised to see the deposit show up in my bank account, but with no notification! Is that always the case, that they don't issue notices when they pay?
Yes, they do not send notices of payment, but you can track it directly on their own website.

Yes, I saw it there, too, thanks. I Was just surprised to find out about the payment by reviewing my bank statement! Every other company with whom I work sends notification, so this was something new for me.
Odd, there is only one company I shop for that does send notifications when they pay me via direct deposit.
Wow, Mert. That's too bad. They never had an oil change here. Only three companies ever have them. One only does them about once a year; one does them monthly, and one does the dealership that there is only one of on island, and having been to them once, I would never waste my time returning, as they were horrible (so the report was, too.) :-(

I do the "reimbursed only" oil change on my little runnin around truck, every three months like clockwork. with another company...

I have done the "get it inspected" take it in to be checked, "go back and get it reinspected" service with another company once, it wasn't a bad deal, it paid well, but it took all day to do, so I would suggest someone only do it on a slow day when it comes up
I've always wondered about that "get it inspected" deal. I have always laughed because I get routine maintenance done usually a little early, so it was a bad joke to go into an oil change shop and have them 'warn' me that having my radiator flushed was 'urgent' when I had had it done several months before when I hadn't yet actually reached the recommended mileage for it. They were going by mileage rather than actually checking anything.
I've ruled out some oil change locations as they're incompetent. My TrendSource shop was $8 and $35 and my shop was a great location with qualified and honest employees. I did it quarterly, with both my car and my son's. Plus, if the oil change was less than $20, reimbursement would still be up to $35 (if a brake light was out or I needed tires rotated, for example).

I'll have to shop around for another good shop.
I just started for them doing some pre-paid check cards hopefully this goes well. I don't mind being experimental with cash that will be honestly reimbursed as opposed to those who pretend to reimburse your funds~Those are 'Horror Stories' and I usually shy away from them. I stay the course if it sounds too good to be true it usually issmiling smiley
I think they may have done some changes with the editors. They haven't been like this. I too have started receiving negative feedback and I have been doing the same type of work. It's like HUH? Have the rules changed. But I think it's the people. ie, The shops I do like to do have had maybe 10 different schedulers since I started in 2005.
I could be wrong, and lord knows I frequently am, but it seems to me that that is the department that all newbs start out in at this company...

I noticed the other day that I wasn't paid for a business verification done in March. When I checked my history on their website, it showed that they never received the receipt for the visit, even though I'm sure I submitted it. I sent them a message, and got a response the same day- they made the visit available for me to upload the receipt again. Kudos to Trendsource!
Yes, and they will likely deduct 'late fees' for the late receipt. I find that VERY annoying that you submit the receipt with the report and then have to submit it a second time, and sometimes that second window does not appear immediately so you need to return to the site later until it does show up.
Sometimes I wonder about TS. Like today.
I did a pet store on Wensday, summit report, receipt, ect.....
Today in the mail I get this "please check your prices, out of line for a cat food"message.
So I go back through my notes, DUH, what are they talking about? All I had on my list was dog food. So I wrote back, telling this, including the projet number and other information.
Low and behold, another message. Opps sorry about the confusion. Our mistake.
At least they admitted to their error.
