Phone Shops

I did a Target phone shop where the associate left a sign saying that they would not be back for 50 minutes. So, I checked out and left. Now I'm not getting paid because I was in the store 10 minutes. They said I should have waited 20 minutes first. Anyone else have this happen to them? Why should I be out my gas and my time on a closed shop?

Oh, this happened twice. Photos of both signs, haven't heard about the second one yet. I drove a half hour on separate days each way for these because I needed the money.

If the guidelines require the shopper to bide their time for 20 minutes, that's what must happen. Enter the store, approach the wireless provider who is not there, browse the store and return to the wireless provider in 20 minutes. Report that.
Just curious, how did you know they were going to be gone for 50 minutes? Was it one of those signs with "back at 1:30" or something? As long as I am going to be paid the same if they are a no show, I can find something to occupy my time for 20 minuteswinking smiley

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
A sign which says "Back in 50 minutes" without specifying the start time is absolutely worthless. If that was the type of sign, then the rep could have already been gone 49 minutes, or they might have just left a minute ago. There would be no way of knowing.

You have to spend the required wait time regardless just in case the sign is wrong or the person came back early. Waiting 20 minutes is easy and leads to a quick report.
No, the sign said back at 5:50. it was 5:00. That kind of sign.
