MFI cuts another shop fee

The 100 item audit went from $30 to $25. After doing one that took over 3 hours (and the store was neat and had less than 5 incorrectly priced items,) it would take $50 for me to do it again....And they cut it by $5 instead. No thanks.

Grrrrr. I didn't realize they had attained their 501(c)(3) tax exempt status as a charity.
THAT was hilarious. Watch and wait. They may look into it next, so that they can take 'shopper donations."

Not too interesting because the mileage for 'charitable' miles is only, if I recall correctly, 14 cents per mile. I much rather have the business mileage rate.
I meant of shopper time. We can donate our time For their benefit. :-) Then they can cut the nasty little fees out altogether! (I'm sure they are waiting and hoping for that day.)

You know, a lot of people LOVe to shop in that store. Maybe they could get those folks to PAY for the opportunity to leave feedback. Or give them a free plate of Scandinavian balls of meat.

I noticed that one. For the amount of pictures required, $12 was already on the low side.
And the cell phone shops, which I used to love at $10 a pop went to $9 and then suddenly $7.

Oh, and the coffee "cafe" shops? What the heck? $4 plus reimb?

I did those at $5, because I like the place and went there several times a week anyway, so all they were paying me $5 for was to take a minute and fill out a report, but when they decided my feedback was now worth a dollar less than it was a year ago, I decided that I can enjoy my coffee and cobblestone just as much without their help.
Yes, I am feeling that way about their casual burger shops. $8 to $7 is not a huge hit, but why scour their board and do them on THEIR schedule? 9:30PM burgers are not a big hit with me.
The lunch-time shops fly off the board. Closing time, not so fast. I rarely get them anymore.
They are seeming to cut fees across the board, including at their Certified subsidiary. Makes them less and less attractive except as a last minute fill.

I think, sadly, when they bought Certified, they were really just buying a database of shoppers.

They now claim to have over 300,000 shoppers.

It gives them ability to "stack em deep and sell em cheap" as it were...
The revealed Cell Phone audits were always good every month, but with the fee cut from $14 to $10, they're not worth the time.
Plus I always figure a reveal means you are off site with anybody for at least 90 days (whether required or not), so the fee should compensate for that loss of opportunity.
I had never seen that audit until recently. I was wondering about that. Thanks tgb for putting that thought to be for me. I should know from my 100 item audit that $-making and their name are paths that do not meet. :-)

The funny thing is the following month I did a conventional shop at the same location for a different MSP. I even asked about it here. Fortunately there was a different crew working that day.
While many/most MSPs don't ask--and really have no right to ask--about work for/with other companies, it only takes being spotted and identified to ban you from a client. It is thus for my own protection that I am unlikely to take a shop in a store where I have previously done a reveal within 2-3 months unless it is a store where I appear on a regular basis as a customer anyway.
If a shopper like myself, who has 9/10 reputation and helps out shcedulers whenever I can (well, except for Melissa Benson LOL), is deactivated from MF, who do they have that accepts $4 shops? These are the people they are emailing reminders about personal hygiene, I'll never forget that email. Of course when you work for $4 you can't afford soap and deodorant.
