MFI's "Samantha"

I have gotten two invites from their automated system, "Samantha," and know of another person who has gotten five. I liked that it paid $5 over the currently posted rate for the job, in my case. But I didn't take "Sam" up on the offer as the job is way out of my way, and I am not willing to work as cheaply as "Sam" hopes I might. But I am curious how many others have gotten invites from "Sam". I am also curious if you got the job (she sends to 5 people) and if the rates you got offered were higher than the posted rates.

I don't expect to get "Sam" invites because stuff gets snatched off the board so quickly. It used to be that I could count on a few scheduler inquiries towards the end of the month for bonus work, but haven't even heard from them of late.

I got a "sam" invite and did the shop today. It was $5 more than the regular fee.
I only got one invite so far. Yes, it was more than the regular fee. I think it was up to $10 on the board. This must take the place of the other e-mail I used to get. The last one I got of them only offered $3 instead of $5 extra.

Nothing from Sam to me, but then MFI has never figured out how to email me, even though my profile is so configured.

MFI has forgotten how to email me. I used to get their daily emails, but do not anymore, even though I have not changed my email preferences. I use gmail, so it should not be getting lost in Spamworld. shrug.

I still get the dailies on gmail.

Good to know that it's not just Yahoo that doesn't receive. Nor do they go to spam. Several months/years ago, I emailed the help desk regarding this. Haven't heard a word. It must be the hugest glitch ever to take so veeeerrrry long to fix and respond to me.

They are obviously doing SOMETHING with their website. Previously I had to go to the advanced search and query a 200 mile radius to see the shop 4 miles away. Now for some bizarre reason the default search includes locations 100 miles or so away and I don't find anything more that is local by searching 140, 160 or 200 miles.

I used to get the daily emails. Over a year ago, they just stopped. Period. About a month or so ago, they started up again. That lasted about a week, now they show up intermittently and randomly.

I received 5 "Samantha" offers with bonuses ranging from $12.50 to $16.50. I previously would accept these same locations at similar rates, but on occasion when they were finishing up a quarter I would solicit and receive bonuses twice that amount. The locations are a significant distance from my home and I expect to be compensated time and fuel. When the "Samantha" offers' dates were not convenient, I replied to the e-mail with a counter proposal that was accepted shortly after. Of course, a lot depends on the location, client and timing, so different markets may not be as lucrative while others will be more so.

I have gotten two telephone calls from MF asking me to do rush jobs, which they added $10. However, I have not get any emails or Samatha offers. Maybe because I just started working with MF in September.

I've never gotten a Samantha offer either. I have received calls from them offering jobs for a bonus, but I haven't gotten one of those for a while.

That's cuz they keep actively trying to pay us less and less! The last one I got a call and a bonus offer on was in August. And the bonus was laughable. But the mall the store was in was a mile from me. I didn't do it. Because I had done this one previously, and it has WAY too much writing for way too little pay. If they want me to keep doing their cheapo shops, they need to keep me "checking the boxes." LOL.

Well, Samantha has come to Austin. For the 1st time, I got two e-mails tonight from MF Samantha. Both are fastfoods that have been sitting on the board since before 10/1 and nobody has taken them. Neither is bonused. No surprise. MF very seldom bonuses anything in this area. When things stay on the board long enough, somebody usually takes them. It looks to me like Samantha is just another name for MSC desperate e-mail to drum up interest in shops that nobody has taken without bonusing them. E-mail says "...reply back to this e-mail. We will take the first of the five shoppers who reply back to this e-mail and we will let you know if you are being assigned this shop. If selected, you will receive a confirmation message as you would with any other shop..."

So, MF is self-assign but any shops nobody wants Samantha sends out e-mails asking shoppers to apply and compete for them?

Sure looks that way to me, except the two I got for the same location 68 miles away for hardware the fee had been raised to $20. Lets see, last trip I took over there for an MSP paid me a $90 bonus, which made it ok because it was a beautiful spring day to go for a ride and it came with 3 good paying jobs along the way.

I got my first Samantha on Friday. FF with no bonus. No thanks. Of course, they "only sent the 'offer' to 5 shoppers in my area" Wow.. I feel so honored.

Know what's funny here in Austin? One of the fastfood shops Sam sent me Saturday, with no bonus, also sent to 4 other shoppers, had been on the board since about Sept. 27. It stayed on the board, even after Sam sent it to me, so I could have just self-assigned it to myself instead of replying to Sam (if I wanted the shop, that is). Well, it is STILL on the board for self-assigning, so I guess the other 4 did't want it either..............

Shoppers are smarter than the computer generated scheduler? Oh my gosh. Go figure.

So today I get two FF shop offers from Sam. $1 bonus. Uhm...not enough. Keep trying, Samantha.

I received 4 offers from Sam today with the $1 FF bonus. I'm pretty sure they're all locations I've shopped in the past. Anyway, I only do them if I'm going to be in the area. I usually ignore the $1 bonus offers from Sam. Instead, I wait for them to call & they up the fee by at least $5. It may not seem like much, but it makes it worth it to me.

I had to change my email for them after about a year because of THEIR system. I've had the same email address for 10+ years and the ONLY emails I ever had trouble receiving were from MF.

In the last few months, I've gotten four offers from Sam. The first one was $8 above the board fee, so I jumped on that. Since then, they have only been between $1-$3 above the regular fee so I haven't taken more.

I haven't ever done any of her offers to me...there's a reason they stayed on the board! But this was the lowest bonus she offered me...

I got an offer from Sam today also. It was for a FF shop. I can't remember what the bonus was, but it wasn't enough for me to do. I also have a FF shop tomorrow and printed out my CPA that didn't have a bar code on it. The first one I have ever had. They must be having troubles with their bar codes?

I get "Samantha" offers all the time, usually for FF shops that are 30 minutes away and proposing a $2 or $5 bonus.

My fave was a phone call for the same ff shop location, if I could complete it within the next 24 hours (report and all) I would get the regular pay and a $25.00 bonus. Much better. I completed it last month and just got paid.

I get a bunch of Samantha offers, usually with an extra $1. ????? If I didn't want it at $7.50, will I want it at $8.50? I did get one last week with $3 .... and realized I was going to be next door doing a shop, so took it and did the next door shop and grabbed lunch, But it was the first time I had taken a Samantha offer. Samantha seems to just be MF's way of dumping the shops nobody wants without having to make phone calls and without bonusing the shop. Their fastfoods seem to be staying on the board longer. While I never used to get the daily e-mails, I am now getting them. And I like that .... I have actually taken a few shops because of seeing the daily e-mail......

A lot of their shops here are hanging around long time these days, here, too, AustinMom. I get numerous calls from them each month. Hello! Pay better...it helps when you do not ask shoppers to do two shops (D/T and W/I FF) for $7.50, ya?

Last month some of their FF shops stayed around here long enough to get to $25. I truly enjoyed doing the one I was able to grab.

I have seen one in a location that is 3 hours round trip go to $20 from time to time. I wouldn't do it for that, either, since there is nothing else out there. Other than that, they seem to be able to get most done here around $9.50. I only do W/I only stores and only bundled with several other shops at the mall or in Waikiki.
