GFK 25 days not approved or paid, update: paid!

Hi I have been lurking for a while and learning a lot from this forum but this is my first post.

I completed a heavily bonused shop on June 30 and submitted my information the same day. My shoppers log says "received" but there has never been any comments or score. I also haven't been paid yet for the job. I emailed Donna on Monday but didn't hear back, so yesterday I used the contact the scheduler link as an alternate way to contact her.

I haven't gotten any responses so I'm just wondering if this is unusual or if I should be concerned. If they are just behind I would understand, but would appreciate a response.

Any suggestions?

I have emailed Donna and also used the contact the scheduler link but haven't gotten a reply. I have been checking my spam folder, but nothing there ether. i also found an 800 number but her name/extension wasn't listed in the menu.
just talk to anyone there...they will get you to the right person...

Donna is FAR from mean and nasty. Donna Goodwin does more to help shoppers than most people from MSCs.

I love GFK. Donna is on this board frequently, and responds in a timely manner. I've never had a problem with them. In fact, one time my printer was acting up and I could not print the paper for the cell phone audit. The scheduler at GFK offered me an additional $8 to print the paperwork from Kinko's. Luckily I fixed my printer, but I really appreciated her offer.
I took it down. I am having a bad with them. It will pass and please don't act like you all never had bad days..

Just an update, I never heard back from Donna which is frustrating.

But, I emailed info@gfk.... and got a response.

"Thank you for contacting us regarding your delayed payment. We recently experienced some issues with Pay Pal. The issue has been corrected and we are working diligently to get our payments caught up. We hope to be caught up and back on schedule over the next two weeks. "


This was my first shop with them. A little more communication would've helped alleviate my stress. Glad to know what's going on though.

Paypal froze the GFK account until the problem was worked out. Wonder why Paypal would do that?

More specifically, why did Paypal freeze GFK's account. More precisely, there might be a serious problem going on at GFK if Paypal froze GFK's account. More pointedly, I will wait and see if GFK pays me as fast as they used to for the two shops that I did for them yesterday.

Maybe I'm different but I trust that I will be paid and always have. smiling smiley I don't believe in 1,700 shops that I have done, that I have ever had to call and email about where my money was?..

If you hear nothing back after submitting your shop, "silence" is usually golden.

If 50,000 shoppers write and ask where their money is, all the time, or in 30 days, etc. etc. you can understand the "congestion."

I was on the phone with Goodwin and she was asking me about a shop I could pick up, while on the phone I did ask her the status of payment on a shop, done almost 3 months prior, but that was only because I had her on the phone...
No, I did not write for the Stooges, wish I did. I can see several things that might have happened. It's always possible there are financial problems, but it may be something so simple as the company is short of funds because a big client did not pay them, or gave them a payment which was pulled back out of the account because the client was short of funds or for whatever reason. Then there are also the well known security breaches, which can make it necessary to shut down an account temporarily. Another thing that could have happened to them is internal embezzlement. As long as they can get going again in a reasonable amount of time it will all work out. I haven't worked for GFK in a long time, but when I was really active with them they were very dependable pay. I haven't heard anything about their having changed ownership or management so I'm hoping for the best possible outcome.

My first reaction on hearing about an account frozen is just suspected fraudulent activity. It is so common these days. I've had restrictions placed on my accounts because of data breaches twice over the last 18 months.

Just wanted to update everyone that I was paid this morning. smiling smiley

I also updated the title of this thread. It was not my intent to question GFK's financial solvency.. This was my first shop with them and I was more concerned that I had missed something because I had never received a score or comments and had not been paid.

I had a past experince where one of the mystery shopping apps had an issue where their low balance notification failed with PayPal. As a result their payments failed and they were behind several weeks. Many people panicked and started "the sky is falling", but eventually everyone was paid. Lots of things can happen with PayPal and I am not concerned with an established business.

Thanks for this information. Sorry if I'm not understanding your statement correctly, please correct me if I am wrong. So GFK's account balance at PayPal got very low, due to a mystery shopping app that failed, and that this resulted in all payments by GFK failing, because PayPal wouldn't process their payments until they made a deposit to bring their Paypal account balance back to a safe level, and this caused GFK to fall behind their payments by by a week or two weeks while the waited for receivables to be paid so that they could deposit the money into their Paypal account?

I'm just trying to understand your post. Payment issues with GFK affect me directly and if payment will be delayed I'd like to be able to anticpate when a substantial amount of money will be paid to me by GFK.

Sorry I should've been clearer.

I was using the mystery shopping app issue as an example of something I have run into in the past. I don't know what the current issue is with GFK, but they are working to catch up.


I was paid this morning.
I was paid this morning for 3 shops I did just barely over two weeks ago.
