The Training Factor - Apt Shops

Has anyone completed any apartment shops for The Training Factor? There are a couple in my area, but the pay is only $30. A bit low for apartment shops. And experience? How detailed is the form? TIA.

The Training Factor staff attended the recent IMSC in New Orleans. One of their staff made a presentation on apartment shopping that I am told was excellent.
I just completed a route of eight video apartment shops for them. Obviously the pay was a bit higher for the video, but I think the report alone is reasonable for $30. For me it would depend on if it was a route or a single as well as the distance to the shop.

I did one a while back and I don't remember being surprised by the amount of detail, although I believe it was this one that asked questions about the placement of furniture. Since I was "extremely interested" in the apartment, I took some pics, which were helpful when I did the report. smiling smiley

I did one shop for them and the scheduler was super nice. I had to record a phone call using her account and was having problems. It took us a while to figure out what the problem was but throughout she maintained her professionalism and patience. I would love to do more shops for them but that was the only one I've seen in my area.
I have done two shops for them within the last year. Easy shops, fast pay and good schedulers.

I was just assigned 2 of these. The forms look fairly easy but the address for one does not show up on mapquest and neither of my shops have the name or phone number of the apartment community written ANYWHERE. Also, it says the due date is 9/8 and they want it completed 5 days before to allow for the agent to follow up. I have contacted the scheduler back, but to no avail. Appreciate any feedback!
If you don't hear from the scheduler by noon tomorrow, contact them again. Today being a holiday, I suspect many are relaxing with family.

There is one place that will know exactly where the apartment complex is...the fire department in the city you're going to. I've had several shops where the apartment complex/housing development is too new to be on any maps or GPS...the fire department saved the day each time.

OH! Thanks Mr. Bond!!! 'Didn't think of that! The scheduler did respond back and told me to check my shop log. (That was her response to my email saying the property name is NOT listed on my shop log or the form).
I just signed up with this company and applied for a couple shops. I had to run to the forum to check them out first!

I did one for a new apt building just been completed. I like it, except there not many shops like this near me and I don't drive. Training Factor pay promptly.
Completed 2 shops for them. One representative did not even collect my contact info for follow up because they did not have a model to show me. Do they provide feedback on completed shop? And what does "pay promptly" mean, please? Thanks in advance for any feedback!
From my experience with The Training Factor (2+ years) sun&fun, this company pays in 30 days or less, depending on when the shop was submitted and approved by the editors. They also provided feedback on the completed shop as well, regardless if the apartment shop didn't do their part on the follow up section. Just be sure to document what you saw & experienced in your notes.

Otherwise, no real worries with TTF.
Thanks Eric! A heck of A LOT EASIER than EPMS!!! And the report doesn't ask 5 times how I got the agent's name grinning smiley!
I did my first one today. The apartment office was closed for Remembrance Day! It is a very minor holiday, I don't know anyone who gets it off. I took a photo of the sign and submitted the report, as per the instructions. Do you think that is all I really need to do? Or do you think they will ask me to go back another day?
I'm guessing you must be in Canada. Is Remembrance Day in Canada the same as Veteran's Day in the US? In the US, Veteran's Day is a national holiday. All state and local offices are closed, schools and banks are closed, and there is no mail delivery. Stores and restaurants are open, of course, but all the businesses here that are not retail or food service are closed. It's sad to me that a remembrance day for veterans would be considered a minor holiday anywhere.

I'm doing some for this company tomorrow. Seems pretty straight forward. $30 is actually decent for a non video shop.. I've done other apartment shops that had more questions for only $20 so...

$30 seems to be the market rate for non-video apartments that are random. There are some companies that start at $25 for non-video. The pay goes up a bit ($5-10) for targeted apartment assignments, sometimes.
I did my shop on Nov. 11, Remembrance Day, which is not a holiday in Ontario. The only people who get that day off in Ontario are federal government employees. I looked it up to be sure. When I got there there was a sign on the door that said the leasing office is closed. The cleaning person was there and let me in to take a photo of the sign. According to their instructions, if the office is closed all you need to do is take a picture of the closed sign and a picture of the outside of the building, which I did.

I got an email from them saying they would pay me another $10 to do the shop again. They also told me that the "whole company" was closed on Nov. 11. But they had not let me know they would be closed on a business day. I told them that since the job pays $30, I'll do it again for another $30. Then I got an email that said they assigned the shop to another shopper. My shop is still showing as "pending". I know that Shopmetrics shows rejected shops as forever "pending". I have one or two from another company.

So it appears that they got a freebie out of me.

I'm really not impressed. Just a warning.
A lot of places were closed on Remembrance Day.... I would have called first that's just common sense. I believe this company is American too and many places years ago were not closed on Remembrance Day so I wouldn't be too quick to get mad with the company over that.
