Marketforce access restricted

I haven't done anything for marketforce for several months but I do check their job board ever so often. Today I received an e-mail from them saying they tried to call me but were unsuccessful and it was imperative that I have a current phone number on file. I did see they tried to call a few days ago but did not leave a message. I replied to the e-mail giving them my number and telling them they already had this number on file. I then went to their website and attempted to log in only to see a message that my access has been restricted and to contact the helpdesk. Not sure if I'll bother

I'm just curious as to why you wouldn't.

Well basically because they called me, didn't leave a message and then cut off my access to their site because I wasn't able to answer the phone when they called. I don't think I'm obligated to answer calls from a MS company that I have no current pending or recently completed shops.
I agree you have no obligation, however, since you don't know why they were calling, why wouldn't you want to respond and, hopefully, re-establish access to their website and their jobs?

I did respond to the e-mail. I suspect they wanted me to take a shop at a certain FF place since I got a note out of the blue from "Samantha" wanting me to take one about a week prior. They do have a bad reputation about how they treat their shoppers so I think this is just one more example. Cut off access to their site because I couldn't take their call and why not leave a message?
Maybe it is something totally unrelated and not because they are evil? My bank shut down my access to my debit and webbanking and I was pissed until I learned they had a possible data breach and they didn't want a hacker cleaning out my account. I have ignored the Samantha emails when they didn't fit into my schedule and I am still active so that may just be coincidental.
My interpretation was that they needed their question answered, so they cut off access, so that would elicit a reply. You sound quite upset and I understand why you would be.

I'm only suggesting that you contact them to see what is going on, if only to make yourself feel better. You would then be better positioned to make an informed decision about whether or not you want to work with them in the future.

Ces1948, I assure you that as much as shoppers complain about Market Force and their ways, they still like accepting work from them, year after year. Please, for your own good, don't be shortsighted in making your decision.

Instead of "suspecting" and throwing the blame already, find out from Marketforce themselves to see if not replying to that email was why you were restricted access....

Here is the e-mail I received this morning.

Good afternoon Charles ,
We tried to reach you via phone but was unsuccessful. We must have a current phone number on file at all times. Please provide a current home, work, or cell phone number and I will update your personal profile. Thanks!

Here was my response
My phone number is ***-***-**** which I believe you have. I did see that Marketforce called the other day but there was no message.
Thanks
Charles *******

After I sent the e-mail I checked the MF site and it said my access was restricted.

ces1948 – Still doesn't prove that was the reason why your access was restricted though.... That's just your speculation. I'd still find out the reason for the restriction, but that's all up to you.

Charles, for your own good, please remove your name.

After you do than, as a suggestion, you might want to call the number on your phone.

If you don't care about their jobs, then don't call them. If you do care, then call.
I have worked with MF a lot... I never got treated badly... they are in my top 10 list.

I don't take much off the job board now unless I need a quick lunch but I do check it now and again to see who they may have gained as a client or seasonal jobs that come up that I love and go fast.

I would call but, as a shopper, all of our situations are unique. Just do what is best for you and, my advice, don't burn bridges.

O.o o.O

Happily shopping New England and beyond!!!!!
Your access was restricted because they could not reach you. You need to call them to get reactivated.
Here is what happened. The helpdesk said the scheduler attempted to call me the other day and reported that someone answered the phone and said it was not my number. I did see on my caller id that they had called but there was no way someone could have answered that call and told them that. I think the scheduler made a mistake and got me mixed up with someone else.
I have always found the help desk to be extremely helpful and they get back to you in a timely manner. I gave up calling when I found how great the help desk is - never had a problem. Sounds like it may just be a human error - it does happen. I would email the help desk first and explain the situation.
I gave up on MF because of this. I tried to login and got that same message about restricted access, contacted them to have access restored. They said it was restricted because I don't work for them often enough but they turned it back on. There were no available jobs in my area at the time. The next time (a month or so later) I tried to login due to a job advertisement I saw, but it was restricted again. I figure its a waste of my time to get unrestricted every other month, I was busy so skipped the job they had in my area. I guess they have plenty of shoppers and don't need me.
I would be confused too if they called and did not leave a message. If it is important and a real business, wouldn't they leave a message. Sometimes I come home and find 6 calls on my phone from the same Marketforce number and no message. I never call back. Mostly because they have also called my cell phone multiple times

It is usually the schedulers from overseas.
Actually, it happened to me too and they said to update my profile and provide my telephone number. I told them I only provided them my landline # because that was how I wanted to be contacted. I did not want to be contacted through my cell #.

I updated my profile and that was the end of it. It seemed satisfactory. Probably that is the reason why I don't get calls from overseas. Perhaps their programs cover only LD on cell phones.
Well it happened again, tried to log in last night and got the "Access restricted" message. I e-mailed the help desk again and received a reply tonight. They said they restricted my access because I hadn't taken any shops after they reactivated it (two weeks ago) They also said that they would reactivate it again but "I better start taking some shops soon" I guess I'm taking up too much room in their database.
