Cirrus (Payment practices)

I worked with them last year and it was target shops. It was a headache to say the least and it ended in a huge mess. I fought with them about being paid on 2 of the shops. To date my records show no payment from 12/13 when the shops occurred.

I am willing to let that past experience go to the wayside since I was fresh with the company and the assignments. I had just gotten into ms full time and was branching out. I had not used them since.

There is a slew of really nicely paying shops that are not target shops that are right next to my own home. They do require the recorded phone call and a visit to a certain location however overall the shop seems simple enough. My question is: Is there any special instructions that Cirrus does not post about receiving payment. Also is there anything to be weary about with this company? Finally, how often do they pay?

feeling like I am looking over the edge of cliff...

Just lost trying to find a fire pit in a concrete jungle wishing it was a wooded glen...

if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all

I have worked for Cirrus on several projects; Corporate food retail, Swedish furniture and apartments, to name a few. Make sure you send in the invoice after your assignments. I can not remember the pay schedule for the company. They sometimes take longer to pay than stated. You could follow up with the Bookkeeper about your unpaid shop, it is unusual to wait almost a year for payment. I have found the Bookkeeper and the Owner helpful when I have had trouble with my shops.
I decided after one shop not to shop for them any more. The shop was fine, the reporting was fine. I did not like having to submit one invoice for the whole month. It was four months after the shop date before the payment was due; I should have been paid "about the middle of October" and wasn't paid until the 27th, and only then after I asked about it.

The problem with the one invoice a month thing is I nearly forgot to submit it and they say if you don't submit within (I think) three months then they won't pay you.

So I decided I can live without them; there are so many other shops to do that are more respectful of the shopper. The scheduler doesn't get involved with payment; my emails got a response saying "I don't have anything to do with payment, contact this person..."

It just seems very haphazard and unprofessional to me.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I've done 2 of the Swedish furniture, and know that I did space on the invoice. Forgot all about it. THEN, I couldn't get my computer to make a working copy of the invoice part, so I could send it in.

I wrote them and was sent 2 different forms of the invoice, and thankfully, one of them is workable, on my machine.
You've done *two* of the Swedish Furniture shops?

You're a better man than I am..... I wouldn't touch one for less than $250. And probably not even for that.

Yes, Cirrus advertised a higher amount, then reneged and after all work was submitted said that they would pay me only $90 for 3 days of work. They never paid. Cirrus simply steals. They do not compy with the contract and make it very difficult to get paid, forcing us to do more work in order to obtain money. We should not have to fight to be paid. If they do not simply send the money as agreed, they have stolen the money. Why is Cirrus still advertising on all of these jobboards? Why do they have money for advertising but not for payment for contracted work? Cirrus steals. Those who promote Cirrus promote fraud.
I only got paid after bombarding them with emails. I did one shop with them and now I'm done.
I'm signed with them, but have never seen anything in my area - now I don't feel so bad. In another part of my state, the apt shops are going for $25-$40 (bonused!) - I get way more than that from EPMS. The furniture store is $80 ($45 + $35 bonus). Thanks to this forum, that shop has been added to my "ten-foot-pole" list. I would do cell phone and bank shops for DAYS to make the same amount of $$ without the headache of that one. Thanks for the warning!
I sent an email to Francine Bryan at Cirrus on 12/1/14 inquiring on payment for shops I did on 9/3 - 9/4/14. This is the information that I got back from her:

"You need to submit an invoice. If you have invoiced already, the pay schedule is listed below.
Cirrus Marketing Intelligence pays via PayPal. See below for the approximate date, according to the month you shopped:

January paid mid-May
February paid mid-June
March paid mid-July
April paid mid-August
May paid mid-September
June paid mid-October
July paid mid-November
August paid mid-December
September paid mid-January
October paid mid-February
November paid mid-March
December paid mid-April

I have done four shops for them, three last September and one in October. Does anyone else find it odd that they require an invoice to pay? I have worked for scores of other companies, and this is the first time I have seen this requirement. But what the heck, I could get over that if they would just pay me. According to their schedule, payment for September was due in December. I have sent a couple of emails requesting status, and (at last!) received a reply stating payment will be made on January 16th. After two years of mystery shopping, this is the first time I have had an issue with payment. BTW...while working on these shops I received excellent support from both Francine and Monnie, and was left with a very positive impression of Cirrus. Unfortunately, this payment issue has completely undone that. Can't say I will be working for Cirrus again!

Well, I figured that it was a presentable amount of money to be in 1 place. My first one FREAKED ME OUT! I found out from employees that FREAKING OUT customers happens.

I shaved MASSIVE TIME off the second visit and KNOW that I could make it workable. BUT, show me the money!

I wrote the person who acknowledged receiving the invoices, earlier this week who told me that payments take 3 months.

I do not see me doing the Swedish anymore. Will keep you posted as to pay. IF they paid right away, I would be willing to tuff them out.
Wish they had the Swedish shops here. I'm in love with Sweden and their famous furniture winking smiley Signed up with this company long time ago but never get any emails about shops from them. Dodged a bullet?

I have found that if I just resubmit the invoice and remind them of their payment terms, I get paid within a few days after.
Did some shops for them back in november, if I don't see the money by the end of February.. I'll start worrying.

And it does take a strong man to do a Swedish shop. I did one, and wouldn't do one again unless it was very heavily bonused. I guess if one did a few I could probably see there being a routine to them, but there usually aren't that many in a given area.

I did 3 October Apartment shops for them. I still have not been paid. I have invoiced them every month. I did my job, now I think they could at least do theirs.... If it were not for Mystery Shoppers, they would not have a job. Oh, I have never heard a thing from them after the E-mails I have sent. I am going to send yet another invoice, but this time, pretty much everyone in the comapny will get one. There are 3 MSC I work with now. Never again will I do anymore work for this one. I also tell everyone to stay away from this company.
Wow, that is just way too long to wait for reimbursement. I was considering signing up, but it doesn't seem worth it after reading this.

I only got paid after starting the process of emailing every employee whose address I could find. And I did this every single day after the 90 days passed. It took 3 days. Good luck.
I did two apartment shops for them and it took forever to get paid for them, and I had to fight for it.

No company that takes 4+ months to pay and then makes you fight for your money is worth working for!
I will no longer shop for Cirrus after being forced to hound them for payment. I was eventually paid, but only after sending messages to every email address I could find on the site. It's no big deal to send an invoice, but we should not have to ask them over and over again to be paid. They claim to pay in three months. Two of my shops with them went unpaid for over six months.
Resubmitted an invoice. No response. Going to call them today -- then start emailing like crazy. I dont want to work for them further; but I want what I am owed.

They paid out for me once I reached the right person as well. I wish this MSC would pay a little quicker... I'd be all over a LOT more apartment shops if they did.

I did 2 apartment shops for them about a year ago. After 5 or 6 months of not getting paid, and emailing anyone with an email, I sent them an email stating that if I was not paid in 24 hrs I would report them to the authorities for not abiding by the contract. It was quite a nasty email I sent them, and regretted it after I sent it, however within the 24 hours I heard from "monnie" who tried to weasel out of paying me due to some vague "problem with the shops", but she sent the money immediately via paypal. I had to threaten them with a law suit and reporting them for taking so long to pay and said they should be ashamed of themselves. I said that if their clients took 6 months to pay they would be out of business, then I realized that is probably what is happening. I would stay clear of them. Totally unprofessional, and their shops are ridiculously complicated.
run, run, run, they take well over 4 months to pay, and you will have to chase them down. DO NOT SHOP WITH THEM, EVER.
I finally Got PAID. It took almost 5 months to get it. I no longer shop for them. If anyone is considering signing up with these guys, DONT.
I used to do a ton of the Swedish furniture shops with them. When I started, they used to pay every 45 days which moved to 60 days then 90 days. I used to love them and traveled between four states to complete the shops. But then when they started getting slower and slower with the pay I decided to drop them. Too much work for far too little money.
As far as I know, when you owe money, you have to pay whether or not you get a bill. You owe the telephone company whether or not they send a bill. You owe the electric company and they even claim you know exactly how much to send them because you can read your meter and their rates are public tarrifs. Cirrus knows exactly how much they contracted for and they know how much to send you without an invoice or "bill". I don't think it is legal to say they won't pay if you don't send an invoice within three months. First it would be unconscionable and not upheld by a court because its contrary to public policy. And second, debts are valid for seven years and an invoice or bill is not required for a debt to be valid. I don't think you can sign away your right to be paid if you don't send a bill within three months. I'm not a lawyer but I'm pretty sure this is correct.
I will not do work for these guys either. I submitted my invoice on payment on a Target shop, twice! Emailed Francine as well to get the information, still nothing. My shop was completed and accepted at of Jan 2014, its not April 2015. This company doesnt pay and I dont have time to chase them down. I just wont work for them anymore.
