Shoppers' Critique - What does this mean???

I requested an assignment on the Shopper's Critique job board a couple of days ago. Now on their website, when I view Available Shops, I see "Requested" with "(Cancel)" under it in the Request column, and TheClient'sName with "(1 shopper in Waiting List)" under it in the Location Name column. What exactly does this mean? Does it mean it was assigned to another shopper, and I'm their backup? Does it mean that I've applied for it, and another shopper has also, but it's not yet been assigned?

I'm confused! The only thing I can figure out for sure is that the job has not been assigned to me (yet).

I've seen the same thing and was a little confused, too. I think it means there is a shopper and a backup assigned. They would only contact you if neither of them are able to complete it - I'm not positive, though. I haven't had it happen myself.
I was wondering the same thing. I thought that maybe they only assigned a certain amount of shops. I have about 5 sitting on my board with the same message. I just hope they don't assign them last minute.
Not quite sure what it means. I always thought it was assigned and another shopper had applied for it. They will normally call you to assign it and extend the due date.
Lisa, I believe it means that you haven't been assigned but that you've requested it. The cancel button is so you can cancel the request. The shop has been assigned to someone else and if they don't do it, it will then be assigned to the first shopper in the list. If you don't want to wait to see if it becomes available, you can cancel.

That makes sense. I'm not a big fan of being a backup shopper, so I'll likely cancel my application. Thanks for the info!
You always have to option to decline when they assign you as the backup at a later date.
