Thank You Maritz!!

In the old days when I was doing shops for Steri, I could not really schedule routes until the day or the week.

Now, with the manner in which Maritz allows one to assign themselves the shops for a certain week or time period, the route planning becomes much easier and gives me the opportunity to stay home on these miserable days when the temperatures are below zero, the snow is unending and the car is dead.

I did plan a route today (even though the outdoor temperature is clinginging to 3 with reported wind chills -35 to -45), however, hubby's SUV decided it did not want to start.

Hubby now says that the battery (an 84 month warranty) is dead. He says he shall have to install a new one.

It was 85 months old.

So, thank you Maritz for giving me the ability to re-schedule the shops. I'll probably do them this weekend when it warms up to 10 to 15 above zero.

And thank you my dear husband for being so kind (and able).

Maritz is great about rescheduling. When they are available in the office and not on vacation they are easy to reach and helpful :-)
It's really sad when you have to say "warms up to 10 or 15 above zero." Here's hoping for an early spring (and a new battery).

Same temperatures here tonight, it warmed up to 11 below once the wind died down some.

I couldn't agree more. Being that I'm sick tonight, I can push my work back to later on in the week. Thanks Maritz!
I wound up with two shops I was going to do this weekend because they called me and offered a $10 bonus on each, but my kid is coming to visit. So I am able to do them on another day with their flexible schedules.

Thank you! And I second that!

When I do my shops this weekend, I shall be certain to be cognisant of the football game. Meaning, do not ask silly questions whilst game is being broadcast.
The majority of my shops for the majority of the companies I work for on a regular basis have date ranges, flexible dates and self-rescheduling capabilities. That is one of the main reasons why I take those jobs and work for those MSCs. My schedule in work life and social life is always in flux.
The flexibility is one of the main reasons I love shopping full time. Try asking your boss, "Hey, I can't come in today.. but I could definitely come in tomorrow night."

Hello,
I recently was accepted to become a mystery shopper for maritz, I currently work full time in the retail sector, of course I informed them of that when I applied to become a mystery shopper. I'm turning 66 this month, and have applied for and have been accepted to receive my full retirement amount from social security admin. . The motivation to needed make me become a mystery shopper was largely due to how some of the customer's get treated in my store. I really hope I made the correct choice in choosing maritz.

I just found out that if you wait longer to collect your social security benefit, you can collect more than 100%. The percentage amount will continue to increase every year until you reach 72. You can check it out in their online calculator.

Welcome to the Forum! Couldn't tell from your post if Maritz is your very first company or if it's just that you registered with them recently.
If it's just that you recently registered with them, you'll probably wind up loving or hating them, or both. Search the Forum for many, many Maritz threads. Stick with them through the probationary period and gain self-assign rights before you make up your mind.
If you just got into mystery shopping and Maritz is your first MSC, then immerse your self in reading the New Shoppers section of the Forum and start registering with many, many more MSCs from the Official List that you see linked below.
Dear elcarev68,
Yes Maritz is my first company to do mystery shopping for, I'm looking forward to getting started. So glad I found this forum, so how long have you been a mystery shopper ?
Thanks,
David
Yes, but from what I understand it isn't a fiscally wise move. Even the financial gurus like Suze Orman say to take it as soon as you can.

You will end up collecting more $ in the long run (assuming you don't kick the bucket early, another reason to take it as soon as you are eligible).

Hi Boutique,
I surely don't consider myself a 'financial guru' by any means..but I feel like I did do one thing correctly, that is wait till I reached my 'full retirement' age (66) before I applied for my social security benefits. To be honest..I never thought I'd live this long..and actually be able to start receiving the money. The biggest downside with receiving the benefit is having to pay income taxes on the amount at the end of the year..that has never seemed fair to me, we pay taxes all of our working lives, and the we have to pay again when receiving the benefit :-( . Of course that's just my opinion.
David
David, if you don't have a lot of other income you won't have to pay income tax on your social security benefits. If you do have a lot of other income, congratulations on making a plan for the future (now) that fortunately worked out.

I'm on the negative side of this company, probably due to a poor scheduler and worse editor. One probably has to have a little luck with any company to get hooked up to good people.
Hi All,
Upon last checking on the Maritz site, I already have a lot of shopping 'jobs' available for me to go do, I told them upon signing up, that at the present time..I'm still working a full time job [retail sector], so at least for the time being..this can't be a full time hobby type of job for me. Also, I've yet to go on my first mystery shopping adventure, but when I do..I want to get it right, so it benefits everyone it's supposed to.
Thanks,
David
