BestMark Review in MSM

Great review, @vlade5394! It was informative and made even more so by your personal experiences.

I have to ask, would you really let your next new car purchased be influenced by this MSC's shops?

Great article.

I have to say that I would let it influence me. I bought a new car (for the first time) in 2013. It was from a dealership that, turns out, is shopped by Bestmark. I signed up for an oil change for that dealership. I was very impressed by the service I have received from this establishment, not to mention the free oil changes and tire rotations I get as a result for doing shops for Bestmark. I have always found the people I have interacted with at Bestmark to be helpful and friendly. I would definitely buy another car through this dealership.

Yes, my next car purchase will definitely be influenced by mystery shopping. In my area with my current vehicle, I have to make an effort to search for too-infrequent oil change shops. In fact, I'm about 3300 miles since my last oil change right now and still searching. On the Bestmark board are frequent and nearby visits to auto dealers for oil changes and tire rotations. If I had a required vehicle, I could easily add those visits to shorter routes. If I want to drive a bit out of my normal area for any reason, personal or business, the travel bonuses can add up to a $100+ payday plus reimbursement for the service.

Or maybe I'll just buy an electric car.

Well-written and nicely balanced review. (:

I like how the potential negatives were pointed out and explained. *So* annoying that the client isn't named on the job board... the deadline is *really* short -- especially for me, since they say midnight their time (and I'm two hours earlier)... and then the fee deduction for being even a little bit late. (Glad to hear they seem to be making some exceptions to that, lately.)

But I like that all of the positives were highlighted, as well. I actually got some really nice and encouraging remarks from a couple of BestMark people, back when I was new to this. And, I honestly wasn't aware of all of BestMark's blogging on MS topics! I'll have to go and check that out, now. (:

Also loved the part about how you may pick your next new car accordingly. winking smiley

As for me, I don't have that kind of car either... but BestMark has one retail client -- a farm store -- in my area where I'll take the shop even though it only has a $5 payment... because it has a $15 reimbursement for something I really, really need and would otherwise be spending my own good money on. So that makes it equivalent to a $20 payment, to me. (:

I've noticed that more and more new cars are coming with engines designed for synthetic oil, which allows longer intervals between oil changes. I've also noticed that many oil change shops don't allow synthetic oil.
