Shoppers Critique

Hi Guys,

I am wondering if I should perform shops for Shoppers Critique. I have heard from others in the mystery shopping industry that they are not worth the trouble so I wanted to get some feedback here.

It depends on the type of shops and the editors. There have been a changes in personnel there so it may be worth a shot. The schedulers are great. You can reach them by phone and email and they are responsive. SC pays like clock work. The phone shops are not worth the fee considering the reporting requirements. Some of the other shops are well worth it. If you do choose to work with them review the details and guidelines carefully and get answers to your questions through email to cya.
I found them relatively easy overall although the fees and the types of shops offered here are usually of no interest to me. I completed a couple of shops with them early in my MS career. The editor actually called me to go over a report and offer real suggestions which helped me with not only SC shops, but mystery shop reports in general. It always impressed me how she took the time and worked with me in such a positive way.

I've only done a couple of shops for them also but found them easy and straightforward. They call me about once a month for a shop near my home but I'm a regular there and they all know me, so can't really shop it anymore.

I have only done their hair care shops in this area. The schedulers have been pleasant and informative. Pay happens on time and in the correct amount.

I do their retail mailing services shop fairly regularly, and on occasion, their delicious chocolate store shop. Aside from the mailing store report being very redundant (the two main narratives are almost identical in what they ask), I find them to be easy. I like having the flexibility of a range of dates from which I can choose to complete my assignment.

I wanted to add, they had some video shops here this past summer. They are new to video and on one of the three shops we had problems with the upload requiring me to do it several times. The scheduler added an unsolicited and generous bonus for what ended up being a relatively minor aggravation. The video shops did include the same report used for traditional shops and were fairly priced for the combination.

I have only completed a handful of non-video assignments for SCI, which in my opinion didn't pay very well and weren't of much interest to me. However, I did a few video shops for them this past year, and those did pay well, were local, and were much more interesting (luxury apartments downtown Chi-town). I wish they had more of them nearby. Overall they are a great company to work with.
I have been shopping for them since 2003. They have a few clients that I really like. I have had no issues with the editors at all.

I must say that my hair is fantastic. People comment on it all the time. I have oodles of high end products.
I just performed three shops for them in the past two weeks. They called me before assigning the shop to me. They were all the same type of shop for the same company. First shop did not go according to Hoyle with them. I was rated above average in quality. Second and third went well. Was rated higher.

They gave me a week window to get them done. Almost blew it for the first one as I forgot it until the last day. Had 24 hours on any day before the due date, report due by 2 PM on the due date.

Overall I received the ratings I earned. They called me ahead of time. There was good feedback and their report was not hard to do.

These guys are one of my favorite MSCs to work for. Their phone call shops pay below average so I don't bother with them. I usually do one of their retail store shops. I find the report pretty simple and the guidelines clear. The pay is ok, but I find if I wait a bit I can get the shops with a very generous bonus...without even asking.
The schedulers are polite and professional and they pay on time. I haven't had any problems with their editors. I have no complaints. If they offered more shops in my area I'd be working for them much more than I already do.
