Is Stericycle just giving up?

Why would they give up when they have people snapping up gas shops that reimburse 2.00 for gas? And snap up young adult clothing shops for reimbursement only? Those used to go for 25.00 plus reimbursement...
I can do gas station shops that pay better...

My niece wanted to try mystery shopping. A few years ago, when was doing a lot of mystery shops, I did over 500 COPRI shops, always got my money, had good support so I pointed her in that direction. They came up with one little fast food shop, 52miles away. She was going to be there for another reason so she decided to do it. WOW! HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN. She asked for clarification that evening; no response ever. She dinged them about payment four times; no response. Seven weeks after submission she finally saw a payment - $2 short. She said it was obvious she was not my favourite niece.
It's funny how shoppers used to complain about CORI a few years ago. This is actually warranted, however.
Wow that's odd, overe here I have casual dining shops posted all the time. It's from a small sized company (around 10 stores), but the reimburment is $25 and they allow single diners which I really love. I do remember seeing an email sent out a few months ago saying that the queen of ice cream will no longer be shopped as they are going toward an receipt survey system.
Martiz is showing NO shops within 99 miles of me...I"ve checked them a few times and have never seen a former Stericycle store in my area.
My experience is same -- Saw dozens of available shops on Stericycle's (CoRI's) Job Board every time I logged in for many years. Now there is nothing there. Why? If new owner Stericycle has been losing clients inadvertently because the new mystery shopping division heads don't know how manage, maintain or grow the business, will Stericycle's Senior Management take notice, step in and make changes to build the business back up? Or is what another shopper over this forum wrote true, i.e. that Stericycle just bought Corporate Research International to harvest it's parts for Stericycle's other businesses but never intended to remain a full-service mystery shopping operation after that? Can we look forward to a resumption of mystery shopping jobs becoming available through Stericycle in the future once senior management steps in to fix what the new managers may have messed up with this formerly full-functioning and robust acquisition property? Or has CoRI's business been secretly gutted and harvested for it's parts by the new owners such that Stericycle is now effectively out of the mystery shopping business but has yet to inform one of it's key assets, i.e. it's shopper force in the field? I called Stericycle 3 weeks ago to inquire but the person answering was new / didn't know anything / denied anything was wrong. But this mass exodus of clients and/or job opportunities from the mystery shopping industry is quite significant given that CoRI / Stericycle used to be one of the major shop providers. Does anyone else have any helpful information to share regarding what's going on with Stericycle's seeming dropout from the mystery shopping business?
I am still with them and won't ask them to terminate me because you never know. I check them once a week now instead of every day.

So sad. I liked this company. sad smiley
I thought my eyes were deceiving me a few days ago...the gas station shops in my area were $19.75. I snatched those up in a hurry.
I had to look and no shops in my area. You are fortunate to still have work in your area. smiling smiley
I quit logging in when their GS went from $10 to $4. I don't have the time to wait around to pick up a few random jobs when they hit $10 again. It's been at least five years since I regularly checked their board.
Gas shops reached $22 at the end of February. That's the highest I've seen them in a long time. I took a couple at those rates, but miss the days of the $40-$50 ones.

I managed to snag two bank shops here in Phoenix that were once $7 but bumped up to $20 at the end of the month. The reports were truly easy - the comment section actually had a 250 character count maximum. I've never seen that before from a mystery shopping company! These shops were back to $7 on 4/1 and are now at $9 and I'm going to try waiting again and see if I can snag more for $20 or better.....we'll see.
The one in Fountain Hills used to get up to $34 but doesn't go that high any more. $20 seems to be about it.

I don't do them any more. smiling smiley Nice bank though. I almost opened an account there once. But I don't think they're open on Sundays any more.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Here is my speculation about CRI. This was the first company I worked for and did some gas station shops for as much as $50. Those were the good old days. When they were bought by the waste management company I got a job with them to shop hundreds of their waste management clients. They idea was to check on customers they thought might stop using their services. What I found while doing this is that many customers complained about the high prices for the waste services. Higher than the competition. My guess is that this initial detailing activity didn't work out as well as the waste Managment company had hoped. And they stopped doing it. Then as with the waist business increased the cost of their service to clients like the restaurants and hardware stores and ice cream stores etc. and at the same time lowered the reimbursement to shoppers. I recently did a rare $20 + $30 car wash shop. But aside from that don't do much with them because it is not worth my time. From the waste management companies point of view there business is now smaller but more profitable. These are my own speculations and inferences.
