JM Ridgway Co

I see there has been some comments on this JM Ridgway company, for myself I have in the past done several (company name removed) Mattress Co shops in my area and have always gotten paid within 60 days, but the last shop in Janyary 23, 2015 I have not and have not found a way to contact them.

Second, it's only been 40 days not 60.

If you go back into your shop log you select Help/ contact and you can send a message out.
I was just paid yesterday for my 01/15 shop with them. Your payment should be coming soon.

I haven't done many lately with said named MSC. But I never had any problem. Got paid and shops straight forward. Used to do those places to store your stuff, but now payment is lower than past. Need higher $ to get me to do, just me.
I have always gotten paid, and it seems like forever, but it has never been over 65-70 days. I did terminate myself once because the accounts payable guy was a jerk to me, but, I talked to a nice lady there, since (who agreed with me) and reinstated myself. I found their phone number but..um..you do NOT want to call that guy..smiling smiley
For the last year my payments have been from 45 to 50 days.

My story with this company is long. I thought the shops were easy and the forms were short and worth the money. However I contacted Frank for payment and he was very very rude and implied that he really disliked us dumb shoppers for even having the adoscity to email them regarding our funds. So he set me straight. I received payment 50 days after the shop. Do not expect it any sooner. Now I am waiting on one shop done on 1/21 that has not been paid. It has been over the 52 days which frank said was the deadline and I have emailed every scheduler and him and he has not responded or returned my email in Three days. I have emailed them every day. I do not think I will be paid and I am reporting them to who ever I can. I would not work for this company. When I initially contacted the scheduled she was nasty to me to and said it was pretty much not her problem. The shop that I have my been paid on was one at a mattress store where I did one in a neighboring town the day before. The next day I went to complete my shop at the location the same guy was there. I acted as though I had no idea and I was just shopping from one store to another. But he said he was a manager and he already received the report and he new I was shopping. I had to leave. I emailed the scheduler and she said that to fill out the form and I still would be paid. I guess that's not the case and no one will resolve this for me. I will never work for this company again.

I had an unpleasant experience with this company myself but i believe at least some of it was my own fault. I signed up for a shop where you had to take a photo of an employee to verify that they were wearing the proper uniform and then I found myself feeling uncomfortable about taking this photo. I emailed the scheduler - Paula - and relayed to her that I didn't feel comfortable in taking this photo and perhaps it would be best to pass this shop along to someone else. She emailed me back saying that I was making things hard for her as she would have to find someone else to do the shop now (this was not at the last minute, either). I felt bad so I let things stay as they were and then found I couldn't do the shop and I did the inexcusable in my book - flaked on the shop because I was very uncomfortable with the snap a photo of the employee requirement and it was clear that the scheduler was not going to be understanding. This is my one time I flaked. What I have learned from this is to look over any shop requirements and if I am not comfortable with anything, to pass on it right then and there and not sign up to begin with. To end this story I was deactivated from this company, and I'm not thinking that was harsh at all as I did flake.....the only reason I flaked though was because of how the scheduler responded to my initial email. I also see myself at fault here as I should have been more firm and said, No, sorry, this just does not work for me and I didn't man up and do that. Live and learn, I guess.

You need to stop bothering everyone about your pay. This is not an employer where you can expect money every 14 days. This is a mystery shopping company and your pay can be anywhere from 30-60 days.

I would never write the MSC unless it were 90 days out or more...

You bothering them is going to get you less or (less than zero) shops in the future. If you think my response is rude, then keep doing what you are doing and find out the hard way. You are what they call a pain in the ____ and you don't want that kind of notoriety. Word can get spread around amongst the schedulers and pretty soon you are high balled out of many companies.

If you are a new shopper, it's a warning you should heed.
"you are high balled out" Does this mean they give her a cocktail before deactivation? grinning smiley

Highballed: noun

1.

a long iced drink consisting of a spirit base with water, soda water, etc

2.

(originally in railway use) a signal that the way ahead is clear and one may proceed

verb

3.

(intransitive) to move at great speed

4.

(transitive) to drive (a vehicle) at great speed

I guess I meant #4. To get out of the way quickly, (as a scheduler) when you see this shopper, coming after you for his/her money and you quickly decide you need to go the opposite direction when he/she asks for a shop. tongue sticking out smiley

Or should I have said "blackballed" the shopper?

This one fits better:

Blackballed

verb (used with object)

1.

to vote against (a candidate, applicant, etc.).

2.

to exclude socially; ostracize:
"The whole town blackballed them."

3.

to reject (a candidate) by placing a blackball in the ballot box.

Lisa, I love your response here, LOL!!!
Wow now I want a high ball. Not really sure what kind of cocktail that is but I could use a strong one right about now. I do not call about pay issues. Some are very slow pay and that is not going to change no matter how many indignation emails that I send them. More than likely it will get you deactivated for being a PIA. That said I have always been paid, may not have been as fast as I prefer but that is what I signed up for. As far as JM - I work with a great scheduler there who always responds quickly and is flexible - they are one of my favorite companies.
I vote for a highball too.

As to the repeated requests for payment, while it's true you may catch more flies with honey than vinegar, with either one if you use to much you'll just drown the flies and end up with a mess.

Does anyone know what I mean by that? I sure don't. tongue sticking out smiley

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
I like working for this company, too. I don't pay much attention to how long it takes them to pay. Since I am working for a number of companies, money is always coming in. Some pay in 2 wks., some take 30 days, others take longer. The only one I've had to chase was done last July and I just got paid for it this month. That one took a few emails from me to get cleared off the books. Everyone else pays eventually.
Well I finally got so fed up with Frank I emailed Scott Ridgeway directly and told him what an old curmudgeon I thought Frank was. Turns out Frank purchased a big chunk of the compamy from Scott. Oh well, still got a personal email from one of the schedulers today asking that I do some rural shops. I accepted.

And BTW, unless you want the wrath of Frank, wait until you haven't been paid for 53 days. Then and only then are you allowed to ask. And believe me. He will count to be sure it's been 53 days. If it has only been 52 days, all you will get is a lecture about reading the payment schedule on the website.
