Any recent info about DSG?

Hi all. I did a search for topics about this company and what was available seemed to be old threads. Does anyone have recent experiences with this company? The info presented in the older threads didn't look overly promising.

The shops that were open by me looked OK, but when I logged in, I couldn't figure out how to wander around their site, other than areas that were offering the actual shops. <--- This made me a bit nervous.

Do they pay in a timely manner?
Do they nit pick reports?

The only thing I know about DSG is they used to call me constantly and I could never understand a word they said because of a horrible overseas connection and a lot of background noise. I had to ask them to have only people in America call me. Haven't had another call since. Since I've never understood what they were offering me, I've never done a shop for them.

I had frustrating experiences with their schedulers (I was told by one of them that they were in the Philipines, but I am not sure that is true) who kept telling me that $15 was high pay for driving 50 miles to conduct the shop. On a few closer ones, I got a reasonable bonus. We parted ways when I was called to go to a credit union when I was on the road, and indeed I was only 5 miles away, but it was on a military base and I had to drive around to the visitors entrance and then try to gain entrance, and once I got there, there wasn't enough time left on that Saturday morning before they closed. Then I had the audacity to decline to drive back there again when I wasn't in the area.

Trust me, this was *not* an accent problem. This was a crackly, echoey, noisy background and the call would cut out every other syllable. I couldn't hear enough of it to even tell if there was an accent most of the time (occasionally it wouldn't be as bad and I could hear the accent then). It sounded like those old long-distance calls, only with cellophane and in an echo chamber. It was so bad I flagged the phone number in my cell phone as "DSG bad connection" and wouldn't even answer the call. The messages they left were so horrible I finally sent some audio clips to DSG so they could hear for themselves how bad it was. That's when they told me they would mark my account to not allow calls from their overseas schedulers.

I have never, not once, ever been able to tell what shop they were trying to offer me. And they were calling me a couple times a week for months before I finally sent them the recording a couple weeks ago.

Would the shops be problematic if you were careful in choosing them? On principal, I rarely take very, very last minute things.
I agree that accepting the shop on a military base was a problem which I helped create. I was in the parking lot of another credit union doing the exact same scenario. I was assured that the base was right down the road, and I knew that to be true. I just didn't know the entire story. Had I been at the right gate at the right time, it would have ended well.

They used to be a wonderful company. You could actually call in and they would take the report over the phone..an actual live, well-spoken and pleasant human being you could speak to. However, they now have schedulers who call from out of the country and to say it is difficult to understand their accents would be an understatement. The connections are horrible. The accents are not understandable and they are a real PITA when it comes to choosing locations. Instead of having one in mind to discuss, they go over a long list of locations that are so far from me I would need $50 to consider them, and they only want to pay $10. It goes something like this..how about blah blah blah, No, too far. I see, how about blah blah blah. No, too far. I see how about blah blah blah. I ignore their calls now because I usually end up hanging up on them when they just don't stop talking. Actually, you all should try one just for the experience and laughs.

Would I have to chase them for the money?

I NEVER answer my phone anymore, just in case it's a follow up call from a shop I've done.
What's ironic is that despite all the phone calls I get, if I go to their site to find jobs it shows me that they have jobs within 100 miles of here but I am "not qualified" to do any of them.

so why are they calling me? I don't even know what kinds of jobs they have because I can't understand them on the phone and I can't see the jobs on the board.

I was paid by them on January 20th and February 27th. I do one shop for them. They haven't had time to pay me for the most recent assignment. I don't have any problems.

I just got a call from them, I could not understand a word that the scheduler was saying the call was crackling, breaking up and full of static. I told her that her call was breaking up and I could not understand her and asked if she could call me back, she proceeded to continue talking, I asked again, she would not stop talking telling me about the assignment that she was signing me up for. I asked her to email me, she said that she would but so far she hasn't. I'm pretty sure that she won't. I'm sad because I used to LOVE this company.

I have done one job for them and they paid when they said they would. Report was easy.
I sent my scheduler the recording of the message they left so she could see how horrible the phone call quality was. She was shocked and said she'd look into it. she also marked my account to have phone calls only from the United States. I've never been called by any of them since.

I'd suggest you record a call from them and send it to your scheduler. maybe if more shoppers send in examples they will dump that foreign call center and get something local. Something is clearly wrong with their phone system and this has been going on with me for at least a year and obviously is still happening.

That's my experience too. I quit answering the phone. Telling them that you need $50 minimum for a fee helps too.

Yes, they are calling from the Philippines now.
Then they should be calling filipinos. I don't know how they get anything scheduled on that horrible connection with those undecipherable accents. I don't even know what kind of shops they have because I've never understood a word they were saying.

It's sad, they were one of the MSC's that I started out with and I really enjoyed working with them because their editors were great, they would call you if they had a question and they were friendly and polite IMO.

Yes, it is sad. They outsource the scheduling to save money and end up with nobody taking the jobs because they have no clue what they're being offered. And I don't think I even get emails from them. I hope they do something about the problem while they still have a company left to save. They must have something in my area or they wouldn't have called me but I still don't know what kind of shops they do.

In my area, DSG shops some of the credit unions. That is all that have seen with them for years. I liked doing them, but the scheduler apparently got mad at me when I couldn't get access to a credit union on a military base on a Saturday with less than 30 minutes notice. Since then, when I check their job board, I am neve eligible for anything (don't even know what I am not eligible for). At least no one calls me anymore.

I agreed with the noisy and broken accent/audio. It also seems they have a broken upload system on the site. The last time I saw some jobs on the site to choose had been almost a year ago. If they pay me more than $10/hour, I would upload them for all of us to see. However, I am most likely "not eligible" for that either.
I have been getting inundated with calls from this company. They called me yesterday and asked if I could do a credit union that required an account set up and I declined (too much of hassle for little $). So she said basically - you are close, why won't you take it? I told her because I was just not interested. Instead of thanking me or even saying goodbye, she hung up on me. Totally rude! So I get a call from them about 2 hours later and this lady was asking me to take the same job. I complained about the first lady and asked why I am getting another call for the same shop - she did not know how to respond. She thanked me and hung up. I will be blocking them from my phone now. No phone skills whatsoever.
