Protect yourself from what? Yes they closed their doors of the mystery shopping division. All indication right now is shoppers will be paid. So far some have received payment for March shops. Not knowing their terms, my guess is the payments reported are on time and in full.

Now that Grass Roots closed their doors, I wonder who will take over the restaurant shops. I so much liked going monthly to dine and bringing a guest along. We will soon find out.

If you go the actual mystery shopping company discussions you will see people have been getting paid quite a bit sooner than the terms of their contracts. So it sounds like the parent company is trying to get everything closed out. My understanding is they were a mystery shopping company and didn't have merchandising projects?

I performed two shops on March 23 and yesterday (April 8) I received payment so it seems they are honoring at least some of their obligations. Prior to that, I tried emailing the woman who is listed as the Grassroots rep on the MSPA website and it bounced back as undeliverable.

How can you perform a shop on April 8th for a company that closed its doors on March 31st?

EDITED: LisaSTL is correct. I guess I shouldn't read the forum while driving in rush hour traffic.

I still have not been paid for the 13 shops they asked me to preform in February for a University food program. I am really disappointed as it is a lot of money they owed me.

Grass Roots turned over all of their shoppers to another company. They are only in Florida right now. They will be notifying all that have shopped before and will be gradually shopping more of the [client name deleted]. I spoke with them personally. I guess I can't give you the name based on the forum rules.

Mod note: It is against forum rules to reveal the name of clients, past or present, when the company has already been identified.

Are you saying that RPM Group is paying off the debt from Grassroots?

If so, then perhaps we should reserve judgement the new company and see if they make good with all shoppers. Maybe there were other factors to the reorganization that just an attempt to walk away with shopper payments....

I agree with Steve. Relevant information has been posted elsewhere, but a current post, including information I find interesting, was just added yesterday. So, while I agree with linking the additional information provided in the other thread, this thread is neither an Old Thread nor a thread that forum members should be encouraged to ignore.

yes, the new company paid me for my shop I did back in march for grassroots. I was happy to get paid !!
