Amusement Advantage deactivation

I've been registered with Amusement Advantage for quite some time. I found out they only have one shop in my area (which I don't meet the requirements for). this morning I got an email saying that because I hadn't contacted them they were deactivating my profile.

Is it worth reapplying on the off chance they'd pick up other clients that I might be able to do?

Do not hold your breath for any new clients. They are all about the same clients. The paying for parking (out of your wage) five times makes this shop not worth it. At all. Their response but you got a free ticket to the venue. Had to laugh at that one. It was a free farm show. All tickets were free. Another was a concert. Concert tickets ( to a non sold out event) were less than ten dollars. It is not really a profit shop at all. Oh yes free concessions....
I gave up on them...they do have a handful of shops in my area...but they are very involved..the directions were written wrong for one...even though they admitted they screwed up, I didn't get paid......and you only end up with a small profit after how much you have to spend....it might be worth it if you can take a group of kids and they all get free tickets and you would otherwise be going there anyway.

And you have to be careful about the seasonal venues...they when they 'pay' you will tickets for your next visit.....if you go near the end of the season...by the time you get the tickets, the place is half closed already and will be fully closed 2 weeks later....and the tickets expire at some places...even if they advance you the pay if its near the end of the season....many people don't have time to go back within a week or 2.

Haven't done any. I did see one today for a local amusement park. They give you tickets and a parking pass, but you're required to buy several food and beverage items, as well as a gift shop item, at your own expense. Instructions state you have to stay a minimum of 4 hours, and that the report takes another 2 hours. No thanks!
Well there are many older threads about this company. I have done several of their local shops and got paid in money and reimbursed my entrance fee on all of them. No ticket payment on any of them. There were a few ticket payment shops but I did not take those.
Kathy G I would think you might want to stay as a shopper of theirs if you think you might visit a location at a city where they have a variety of shops and do a shop there. Not sure you would want to do one of their shops while on vacation but I guess it depends on the type of vacation you take. If I ever took a relatively long vacation in a place with these shops I would certainly not mind carving out a day to visit one of their places and write a report in exchange for the entrance fees, food reimbursement, mileage write off and also leftover cash which I always seem to be able to finish with. In Southern and Northern Calif there are a variety of places you can shop and get $$ reimbursement, not tickets.
I did one shop for this company, while I love the company I hated the report so much that I never applied again. I have never seen a report more long or more details in all of my time as a mystery shopper. The schedulers were great they paid on time but the report was just too much for me.

Haven't done any shops for them. The tickets to the amusement park they shop here is awesome but I cringed when they said the report was VERY lengthy. For a few tickets and parking I think to spend 6 hours there? Take photos of each employee? Do a novel of reports after? No thanks.

Kathy, it's really up to you whether you decide to keep shopping for them. It may be good if there is no bad blood to keep your account open in case you see something you really want to do.

An amusement park shop is significantly easier to report on than a complicated casino shop. I can knock out their most difficult reports in about an hour once I have my notes organized. They have a boatload of work in my area. I just have too many choices of things to do. I can't do everything. I do a couple of jobs of year for them. Some of their clients are seasonal.
I registered for them last night and figured out that I had wasted my time. They post a really high pay so that jobslinger pulls them up as a big bucks one. So you go register and that is when you find out....oh they pay 70 dollars, but you have to buy your ticket and pay for your parking. The ticket was 60 dollars. I am thinking that Sassie needs to come up with a way to exclude them from their high payers section.
Is it worth it?

If you want to make money - the answer is no. The fees are set up to give you slightly more than your on-site expenses. It doesn't cover mileage or your time to do the shop.

If you are going or want to go to their 'fun' clients, then it is more worth it. You can bring guest(s), enjoy the experience, and get some cash for your time. As such, this company's shops fit more into a "life enhancement" category of shop.

An exception was a membership shop. The shop was to purchase a one year membership in addition to visiting the place. It was a nice perk. smiling smiley

I got deleted after six months, too. Just didn't see anything worth the fuss considering BARE also does some of the same sites here in Houston and for much less fuss. It may work if you have enough kiddos and a spouse to take along, but for me/myself/I, it's not worth it.

With BARE's city "animal farm" shop, I didn't have to buy anywhere near as much stuff or make near as many visits/checks on employees. If I can scrape up some money for a visit, I may check out the new gorilla exhibit. But, I digress.
Thanks for all the advice. After reading everyone's posts I've decided that I can always apply again down the line, then see if their shop availability has changed.
