I have been paid either close to on time or on time exactly once that I recall. Otherwise they have not been terribly late, but late is late. Add that on to some long terms already and it's too much.
When a company cannot pay shoppers until the client pays them I do not write them off. However, I am extremely cautious of shops requiring a reimbursement. IMO, companies whose cash flow is that tight are not set up to ride out any downturn. While losing out on my time sucks, it doesn't suck as much as losing actual cash.
I've been through that before with a company shutting their doors with absolutely no notice. It was made more aggravating because they must have closed up right about the same time as my last monthly route of videos for them which cost me $35 in cash, $25 in gas and five hours time. The reason I know it was before rather than after, they didn't even bother to send that work to the client. A phone call or email would have saved me the time and money since they were current on payments at that point.
Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
