I sometimes find the log on page for a company by typing xxxxxxxxx mystery shopping shopper log in. Take that any way you want, but it is not intended as snark.

Okay, okay!!! I did edit it once for typos, but sure missed that one. Thanks for pointing it out and the humor was much appreciated. I started laughing while at dinner w/my widowed mom. So she wanted to know what was going on. She laughed so hard. I have not heard her laugh in quite awhile due to her health issues. MY typo was well worth hearing her laugh.

I hope it also lightened up the mood of this topic and it gets back on track. Thanks again.

hi Anita...glad for you and your mom's sense-of-humor and I certainly didn't want to give a sense of disrespect and i'm glad that you took my comments as they were meant to be...with a dose of humor.
Let's not get MrC talking about panties because it will lead to a discussion about leatherwinking smiley And thanks to Anita for the flipping hilarious typo. So glad your Mom was able to appreciate and enjoy itsmiling smiley Happy 4th of July everybody!!!!!!!

I'd bet everyone that is happy with this company is in a rural area, and is traveling flat fast roads to do shops that are many miles apart. You gas station warriors with a route that requires a sleep along the way make a living with them.

For those that are in an urban area, they pay very little and bonus $2-$3 on the board and put it in gold background.

It's not worth turning the key in the ignition for base pay for the grocery, or home improvement. They added a bank and it's $9.50. Are you kidding me. I do a proper bank job with other companies and make much more.

I look at them as Jeckle and Hyde. If you are in the boonies and willing to travel, they will pay whatever it takes. If your in the metro area's, they will pay less than the cost of gas to get there, and if your foolish to print the survey to get the code. (Print Preview), C/P. for each job, you'd pay more in printing than they pay.
Well, you lost that bet. I simply do the locations that are near to me and wait on the rest. The gold background shops give me a mental list of places they will call me on later, when the money starts to flow...

As for Lisa, I will not push the leather issue. I am still healing from that little whip she seems to favor...winking smiley

You're wrong there scanman1. I live in a big metropolis and get plenty of bonuses. If bonuses are posted low, I often ask fro more if I feel bonuses aren't enough. I may or may not get the bonuses. If I don't and it's not worth my gas to do it for what they are offering, that is their loss, not mine. And several times I have gotten call backs later giving me the bonuses I requested.
There's always discussion on this forum about lack of financial reward associated with shopping for Maritz as well as some of the other large national MSCs because they offer work at modest base rates.

For the benefit of newer shoppers, I have some concrete information about shopping for Maritz that is not based on opinion. On June 12 this company cut me two checks for $209.14 and $880.69, a total of $1089.83 for those two checks. On June 29 they cut me a check for $942.08. That's $2,031.91 paid in June. This did, of course, include gas reimbursements associated with part of the shops which covered all my gas expense for the month. In fact, I left some gas at the pumps. Disregarding reimbursement (gas and minimal inside purchases) I was still left with a nice sum for the month.

The Maritz shops formed the base of my day routes and I was able to pick up other work along the way that increased my income. Since that work was along the day route I incurred no additional expense to pick it up. We are all different, but for me personally "Do not shop for Maritz" is a crock full of bad advice.

I live 30 minutes outside a major metropolitan area. I take bonuses Maritz jobs deep in the woods hours away, and I take bonused Maritz jobs deep in the city.

What I don't take is unbonused Maritz jobs... anywhere... ever.

Apparently Hoju likes to work deep! And quite versatile too - woods and city.
and I'm never without a huge bonus.

I unfortunately have had the same experience as the original poster. I shopped a location, two days later was asked for a more clear photo and I complied - same day. Two days after that, same thing, an email in the middle of the night asking for a more clear photo. I complied again. A month later I call asking why I was not paid and they tell me the shop was removed. I asked for a supervisor and was told "I don't even know their extension or if they even have one". Seriously?
This is unusual and should have been easy to resolve. Do you still have the visit ID#? Call them and then select "0". Ask to be connected to a supervisor for that project. If your problem was with a daytime Scheduler, call @ night. FYI, a Supervisor is usually located a couple of desks behind the Scheduler so, the problem maybe with a certain individual...

I keep a list of Maritz schedulers and supervisors and they're all ranked from most to least helpful. I typically just hang up when I get the least helpful

They've recognized me by my phone number several times. You might want to rethink that.
There are only two that I never get anywhere with. It's not something I do even remotely often but ya, that's a reasonable concern.

I have shopped for Maritz for years and have done many many shops for them. I sometimes have to explain an answer and occasionally I am asked for a picture but I have NEVER not been paid.
I do shops for Maritz and find the software to be hard to use compared to the "Sassie" system. On top, I don't care for the extra steps required in submitting an invoice. Lastly, I think the scenarios are difficult when it comes to the "big box" store and there can be a LOT of photos if a gas station has 16+ pumps. HOWEVER, I have never found them to be the slightest bit unethical. The also tend to bonus well which tells me they understand that their shops may take longer than other MSCs. So there you go.
Maritz has always paid if you follow their instructions. Their staff are pleasant and helpful. My only gripe is that there is NO APP for us smartphone users. An APP would be very helpful.
I received a call from them asking if I could do a couple of jobs I said I will see she told me just go to their site and if I want them select them so I did I checked the jobs and picked the two she asked me to do I didn't get assigned right away it just said pending. They stayed pending a couple days The day I wanted to do them I checked again it said assigned to another shopper. That happened once before about a year ago I was called and told her I had to see. That same day I picked the jobs they went pending stayed pending over a week than someone else was assigned the jobs. A couple of weeks went by and they called me the person who was assigned the jobs did not do them I was asked if I could do them. Does Maritz treat all their shoppers like this In the past if I picked a job it was assigned right away
What happened to your self-scheduling capabilities? They shouldn't be pending if you have been working for them for awhile and with no major issues.
