There's always discussion on this forum about lack of financial reward associated with shopping for Maritz as well as some of the other large national MSCs because they offer work at modest base rates.
For the benefit of newer shoppers, I have some concrete information about shopping for Maritz that is not based on opinion. On June 12 this company cut me two checks for $209.14 and $880.69, a total of $1089.83 for those two checks. On June 29 they cut me a check for $942.08. That's $2,031.91 paid in June. This did, of course, include gas reimbursements associated with part of the shops which covered all my gas expense for the month. In fact, I left some gas at the pumps. Disregarding reimbursement (gas and minimal inside purchases) I was still left with a nice sum for the month.
The Maritz shops formed the base of my day routes and I was able to pick up other work along the way that increased my income. Since that work was along the day route I incurred no additional expense to pick it up. We are all different, but for me personally "Do not shop for Maritz" is a crock full of bad advice.
