GFK has finally hit bottom ???

@Dante, I too want to express the same sentiments as parkcitybrian. I never personally worked with you, but I got a good sense of the integrity you have when scheduling, and working this business. I also respected your comments and insights about scheduling and MS in general. I'm sorry for additional burdens you and your wife are experiencing. Big, big, big loss for GFK!

Dante, I'm sorry to see you leave them and also sorry to hear how you were treated. I hope you get your money. I only worked with you once and we didn't need much interaction but you treated me well. (Big bonus.)

I'm hoping that their loss will be a more competent companies gain.

I am going to approach this company with extreme caution from now on.
Dante, I'm so sorry to hear they owe you big bucks. That's big time scary and I sure hope you get your money. I find it shocking that a company takes 60 days to pay its schedulers. It never occurred to me there would be that kind of extended drag on such meager fees. Perhaps that the norm but I just never thought about it. Best wishes on finding work with other companies.

Parkcitybrian, on a serious note here, is it possible to see the film of Lisa violating you? I would be willing to rent the film or if you plan a screening, would be willing to fly in and purchase a ticket. Please advise.

My wife is also owed over $1400 for assignments completed.

Schedulers are less than human to them. Up until recently, they took 60 days to pay schedulers and bonuses came out of a schedulers invoice. Additionally, those retail audits (the big ones), only pay the schedulers $5 each. The phone audits only pay schedulers $2 each. The phone shops only pay schedulers $2.50 each. The only way to make decent money with them was to schedule a bunch of assignments.

They owe me over $5300.

Now we know why there is a revolving door on the schedulers office and how they manage to get so many incompetent schedulers. That's not directed to you Dante since I never worked on any of your projects.

Dante...although we have had differences in the past i've never had the opportunity to work/deal with you directly in connection with any opportunities with GFK. That being said, if I had a company I would want an associate like yourself representing my interests as you always presented yourself and the company that you represented (in this case, GFK) in a positive light. I'm sorry that this experience has left such a bad taste in your mouth and it certainly seems that this is GFK's loss. Hope you get your $$$ and also i get mine (about $500-ish) and all fellow shoppers get theirs.

I told that company to stuff it almost 3 years ago. I don't put up with BS. smiling smiley

Dante? I'm sorry. Shame on them. I hope you and your wife get paid. Good luck and take care.

Lisa, Lisa, Lisa...Freud would never, ever be seen in a slip. with Freud it was all about Oedipus. I need a chuckle or three to get my mind past the probable fact that GFK will go the way of Grass Roots (and not pay what is due). GFK are good initials for them. GFK = Giving us a good royal F..King?
The best part about your post is there are several people who use the screen name LisaSTL and I only use it on mystery shopping forums. Betcha there is one with a Reddit account that will be getting a lot of hits now.

@DanteBeck......I mentioned you as a positive source for "US" shoppers. I enjoyed reading and listening to your comments and posts. I figured you would an insight that you would be able to voice here if GFK was "hitting rock bottom". I am sorry, they burned you and your family. I will still listen and read your post about any MSC you schedule for. You offer valuable information.smiling smiley

I have been a shopper for GFK for five years, but have only done limited shops for them. It seems the chump change they were paying us they were also paying the schedulers. Again I am sorry.sad smiley

There has been a call in to GFK scheduled for tomorrow to discuss their convoluted "new business audit" or something like that. I deleted the call in number and details about what time, etc. Does anyone know any of the details because I would verrry like to be a part of that discussion to discuss a few other items that are on my agenda.

Thanks,

Brian
Update- I was notified by Jane Edwards-Hall, the Senior Vice President of GfK Mystery Shopping that, "we will be paying your June and July invoices shortly and you have our guarantee that they will be paid. GfK always pays ICs when they have performed their work according to their contracts. Your June invoice was processed last week and will be paid shortly. We will be loading your completed schedules tomorrow for July and then you will receive the information to prepare your July invoice shortly afterwards, which will be processed upon receipt."

This was received yesterday. I will reiterate that I stated GfK "owed" me over $5300 for work performed in June and July. I never once said that GfK was "late" in paying me; although they have been late in paying me in the past (one time it took over 70 days for me to receive payment).

I wanted to clarify this, because, while most shoppers and posters understand everything without needing it spelled out, I didn't want to mislead anyone into believing that GfK was having financial difficulties, going under or anything similar.

Glad you are getting paid Dante. It sounds like a big sum or money, but based on the number of hours you probably worked to earn that, you were way underpaid.

I only do a few random (extremely high paying off-the-board) projects for them. My guarantee to get paid is based on the integrity of the person who gave me the job. He would personally pay me if there was an issue.

I have been thinking maybe I should just put GFK on "no emails" because they consistently pay so poorly that I never even want to read the emails anymore. I just delete them. It's not worth it. They are in New York City also, so the drastically low pay surprises me. They know what the cost of living is in this town. I know some people will take any shop, but I'm never going to work for $10 or less unless I'm getting something I really want out of the deal.

If you don't want to receive emails from them, you'd be much better off deactivating yourself entirely. Putting them on 'no emails' just stops the automated messages from being sent. Messages directly from schedulers will still come through. It will just cut down on the number of messages received, not stop them completely.
Some of those messages directly from schedulers may contain bonuses. Why give that up? Over the years I've found companies change, schedulers come and go, management changes or decides on a different direction for the company. Since it just involves deleting a few unwanted emails, to me deactivation is a drastic measure and better saved for something more serious than too many emails or low base pay.

@DanteScheduler Just wanted to say thanks for your help in the past. I wondered at the can of worms I opened a few months ago by commenting on GFK's shops. I'm thinking now that GFK might mean: Gawd! F@#k! i was Krazy to do this shop. I'm sending some positive thoughts your way. Let me know if you're ever scheduling in California!
I have no idea what GfK is doing bad now other than they had an awesome and simple device shop that was heavily bonused.

I just came in here to say that Dante is awesome!

This is a national census of beverages which you will be assigned an area, or "segment", that you will be required to travel the entire area you are assigned. All data must be entered on a tablet through our mobile application, Sassie Rover. This assignment may take 1-2 days up to 2 weeks depending on the size of the area assigned. You're shop sticky note will contain a map that will show you what area you will be required to cover.

We will pay you for each completed visit but the entire segment must be visited to receive compensation for any of your visits.
I am with you guys on GfK. I did some cell phone shops expected to use their mobile app. What a joke!
I had one of these assigned to me then the scheduler cancelled it quickly. The map for the census covered a few blocks near where I live. I would have had one supermarket, a restaurant and at least 3 convenience stores; probably workable. The new dates for this shop don't work for me. I hope to read about people's experiences with the beverage census here.

Thanks for the clarification and good luck to you, Dante. I've enjoyed the ones you scheduled for me. Glad you're being paid!
Hope you and you wife are healthy now. Miss talking with you.

I like GFK's high paying shops, but the lower paying shops are a bit frustrating. This is a bit of some constructive criticism, but I don't like the forms that they use. They start out short but then more questions continue to be added as you go along. At one point after taking quite a long time to fill out one report , I saved and got up to take a break. At that time I had only 30 questions left. When I sat back down and started filling in the form again I found that I had 87 left and the form continued that pattern until I was very tired. I like to know how many questions I have at the beginning, so that I can manage my time for my other shops and not be burned out working for hours on a shop that pays $10 or even $20 for that matter. If they want to continue to use forms like that they should up the pay because they take a very long time. If they don't want to pay more then they should use a different form. I have done a few of their phone shops when I first started but won't anymore.
I think your comments regarding GFK in relation to owing you and wife money and insisting you work while hospitalized were deliberately inciting.
Why would you see the need to inform the readers here of the amount of money owed and when it was owed if not to engender some anxiety?
You state "while most shoppers and posters understand EVERYTHING without it being spelled out".
That is very arrogant of you to assume what "most shoppers and posters understand everything".
