North Fork

Good morning, I have been MS'ing for about 10 years and recently decided to tryout a company called NorthFork. I use Geo-Verify, the time I entered (re geo-verify) indicated the correct time). the receipt had the wrong time, it showed a couple of hours earlier, and the store wasn't even open. I notified the scheduler and an email response said it was not a problem. However, I get a note from an "anonymous" editor about the time. I forwarded to her the emails between myself and the scheduler. With this issue came another issue of how long I was in the store. The anonymous editor is not only unresponsive but lacked any communication at the company. I have never had this issue, usually (rarely) I have phone contact and well, it is truly frustrating to have an editor insist I am wrong not the receipt (technology).

They remind me of insurance companies, you send a question, have an issue and they respond with something that has nothing to do with what you asked. incompetent.

I shop for them quite often, and have never had this problem. So don't give up on them- this is not representative of them in my experience. I did have an issue once with a Garden Center cash register printing an out-of-state address. I mentioned it in the narrative, I think they may have emailed me to confirm, and that was that.
I'm not sure what starting two threads on the exact same topic reminds me of, but I'm sure it's something.

Hello Kim and welcome to the forum. I hope you're able to work out your issues with North Fork. Your first experience is not representative of my long term experience with the company. I certainly sympathize with your frustration and if you normally base your opinions of the companies on your experience with one shop then I can see how you would have no interest in continuing with them.

I have limited experience, having done only two bonused shops. The scheduler was pleasant to interact with, the reports were reviewed quickly and I was paid within a couple of weeks. I have had no issues. I have been hoping to do more jobs for them if anything comes up in my area that I am eligible for.
I am sorry that you have had problems with Noth Fork. My experiences with the company have all been positive ones.

I find it helpful to include a note in the report clarifying the correct information when there is a discrepency between the information on the receipt and the actual time, date or location. That way the editor is sure to see it and won't need to email for clarification. Any information sent to the scheduler may or may not be forwarded to the editor.
All my experiences with North Fork have been really straightforward and without any incident. Don't let this single incident sour you on them.

I have never had a problem with North Forks. They used to have more shops in my area. Now they have a somewhat eclectic mix including one high end chocolate store which is snapped up as soon as it appears.

Thanks everyone for feedback and experience. However, I believe when a company only has 10-11 employees the communication should be a better. I covered all bases and well, nothing but rhetoric continued. So, needless to say there are so many reputable companies out there that letting this one go and will not do any harm to my MSing. I have maintained 9-10 scores so the lack of communication with this company sent me for a loop momentarily. It's done, I'm done and their done. Thanks again for all your experience.
Kim,

You are not being very clear. As has been noted, had you mentioned the timing issue from the receipt, in your report, the editor would have been properly informed - thus the client properly informed.

If your email to the editor was as ambiguous and short sighted as your post here, I can potentially understand the lack of response.

My posts are solely based on my opinions and for my entertainment, contact a professional if you need real advice.

Kim,

I am the operations manager at North Fork Research and I wanted to take the time out to respond to your complaint. Please note that we value all of our shoppers at North Fork Research and we do our best to maintain constant and professional contact with them. It is important to recognize that while our reviewers work over the weekend, our office is closed. Therefore any communication sent on either Saturday or Sunday, will be addressed on Monday.

In reference to the Geo Verify code, while that is something that our system offers, we do not utilize it. Therefore when the editors review the reports, they are checking the time stamp on the receipt versus the time frame of the shop. If you do utilize the Geo Verify code and notice that there is a discrepancy between your receipt time stamp and the Geo Verify code, please note that in your report.

After reviewing this situation, I wanted to clarify that the time stamp update was not the only update that we needed in order to finalize the report. A request was sent to you regarding these updates, in which you responded with a blank email. I am sure that email was sent in error, however that did not change the fact that we still needed the updates to submit the report.

As I am sure you can understand, accuracy is extremely important in reference to the submission of the reports. All of the reports are sent directly to our clients, for their review. Therefore we cannot send a report to a client if there are any inconsistencies. For this reason our editors will send the shoppers reminders regarding updates that are needed. This practice was implemented in your case as well.

Our goal is to resolve this situation and come out with a positive outcome for all parties involved. In addition to my response on this site, you have also received a response from our director of quality assurance, explaining the updates that are needed to submit your report.

I also wanted to clarify that we employ over 25 reviewers and that is the reason for the anonymous setting on their email.

I hope that you have found this information helpful and if you have any further questions, you can find my contact information on www.northforkresearch.com.
Just curious, has anyone else had a time problem with Geoverify? Last week it couldn't find my location but the time was correct.
I use GeoVerify if it is in the guidelines. However, sometimes the site says it will take several minutes to obtain a code and I wait and wait and wait and still no code. Can't sit around forever and waste time when other shops are calling. Works well sometimes, but not consistent.

As far as North Fork is concerned, I enjoy working with them and have never had any communication problems. Not much available in my area except for footware shops. I have nothing negative to say about them and the title of this thread is pretty unfair.
I have learned that as soon as you can see the map and your location on it, you can leave. GeoVerify will eventually get the code. I might take minutes or an hour, but it will work. You can even turn your phone off and back on, and it will still get the codes for locations you have asked to be GeoVerify'ed. Once in a great while, I have been in poor signal areas (phone data, not GPS), and I have had to wait until I get into a 3G area for the code to appear.

Northfork is nothing but a high class MSP. I have worked with them for years including when they were ICCDS and had you sign a form for each shop and upload it with the receipt attached.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

OMG! It's so much easier now, isn't it? I really like them. I wish they had more in my area.... or that the huge volume of other shoppers didn't beat me to so many of their shops!!!!!
I have been shopping with North Fork since July and I love it. I don't have any problems and they pay with in 30 days. One of my favorite companies smiling smiley
I had an issue with one shop, where the editor alleged that there was no way that the total on my receipt could be accurate. This was a shop at a very well known convenience store chain in NJ which I frequent, and where I had done multiple previous shops in an identical fashion. It took multiple emails back and forth before they finally agreed that I had not made an error.

I am sorry you had a negative experience. However, as I am sure you can understand, we have responsibility to the clients to provide them with the most accurate information. As you can see from your experience, we always do our best to resolve an issue with the a favorable outcome for all parties involved.
I have had numerous comments from editors, especially when all employees say the same closing remark and the comment is, next time record what is said in closing. So, the rest of my report was accurate but not the closing? The newest comment was, not to say thank you, and allow the enployees to say thank you first, I guess I will need to write, " I paused, when no comment was made after 15 seconds I said thanks. Since, I do PAUSE, and wait for a response. Seems, no matter what I do, 1 out of 4 shops has a commet of what I did wrong. I completed 4 quick stores one day, per scheduler, I got gas as my required purchase, Then pumped it, and evaluated the island. 3 out of 4 reports were accepted, one, the editor wrote, purchase should be the last thing I do, and questioned the timing.
I did write in, and was told what to do in the future. Just roll with it.....Do not take it personal, which is what I usually do, as I take my work serious. Just consider it like a teacher, correct it and move on. It would be nice that when the report is perfect the comment was not automated. LOL! I also believe that all editors should have to do several shops physically per quarter. That would enable them to base comments on experience as well.
The shops that I've done for NorthFork have been paid as stated in their procedures. I have not experienced any problems with them or their reviewers.
Please do not give up on North Fork; I almost did when I was a newbie and am very glad that I did not. I learned so much from the reviewer's feedback that I am certain has helped me perform other shops more objectively. I admit some of the reviewer comments have no relevance to the issue at hand, and that I have been tempted to quit from frustration. Even recently I received a comment that was completely false regarding a submitted report. I returned a response clarifying that I did indeed clearly note a specific wait time issue. Upon pointing out to the editor that there was no discrepancy in my answer, the report was approved as though I actually did make the error, which I did not ... but not worth hassling minors, when this company is a major good one. Hang in there, this company's payment schedule commitment is worth it.
I find it interesting that so many people stick up for this companies silly comments on reports that have nothing to do with the actual report, yet Intellishop is vilified all the time. Personally, I will continue to shop for both. I just think its strange.
North Fork objectively helped me through my early days; Intellishop was far less tolerant of my new shopper mistakes, and were subjectively rude about the corrections. I welcome constructive criticism, but have no use for derogatory impatience.
Anniem,

Unfortunately, we currently do not offer any phone shops but please visit to the job board at www.northforkresearch.com to find shops in your area!
Intelliship has been very helpful for me with thanking me for my quick responses and pointing out any error. Their website sent me to North Fork where I did a shop and they gave me no issue, grade, or no error on my shop just thanked me and told me it was sent to the client.

I believe the pay goes the same if you do it say before Nov 20 you will be paid Dec. 20.

Also before I knew the about the Geoverify code I sent an email copy to the North Fork client and realized I was suppose to use the code. She emailed me back saying they do not even use our codes just the reciepts.
I knew it was odd to use both.
