Ath Power

I have never done any bank shops before. However, Ath Power has some high paying bank shops that seem simple. Is it for real?? Looks like it's not much work for quite a bit of money.

Yes it is real. It is a bunch of uploading paperwork. But I am expecting my first check from them next week

I've done about a dozen jobs for Athpower for a few different clients. They are definitely real. Some are better paying than others but none of the reports have been too bad from my experience.

The big problem with Ath is that they EXPECT whitewashed reports, absolving any staff of your supposedly "negative" observations. All an employee of the bank has to do is to complain about the accuracy of a report, using a completely false statement, and Ath will censure the shopper, delete the report, and voila! ...client issue resolved! It doesn't take long for bank staff to figure that game out - The squeaky wheel gets the grease. CPK managers have been doing this for 20 years, as have many many other staffers at business that are accurately shopped. Ath is just the latest MSC to be a "check in the box" MSC patsy.
I have done well over 1200 shops for Ath Power during the last 7 years. Less than a handful have been scathing indictments of the employees. I have submitted many other "negative" reports. I have never had an issue with them being accepted. Once in a while I get a email asking for clarification, or even a comment like, "The CSR really told you that she was about to be demoted?"

I have written some not-so-positive reports and not had an issue--they have called for clarification or to verify on occasion. ATH is the only company yet where I left the bank after waiting the required 30 minutes without being able to meet with someone, and got paid the full amount and full bonus as promised without giving me a hassle.
I've done a lot of bank shops for Ath and have had very few emails from editors regarding my reports. I highly recommend them. The reports aren't long or difficult and the pay is at least fair to me, sometimes pretty good with bonus. They have one particular shop I used to do a lot as there are many locations in So. Fla., but they added a new requirement recently which excludes me.

I had my bf and brother complete the $200 shops and I completed an $85 shop. They have not been graded, but a shop I did for them for $20 was graded even though I completed that one one month after the other. Do they grade those shops? Anyone have any input about that?
I haven't received a grading on any of the shops I've completed with them (which has only been 10).

I did a phone shop for them. I called during the time specified in the spec. The associate who answered the phone said that department is not open during that time. I wrote to the scheduler. The scheduler didn't reply so I submitted the report in order to meet their deadline. The next day the scheduler asked me if I would re-do the shop. I said I had already submitted the report to meet the deadline. I said I would consider re-doing it, but asked if the scheduler going to pay me for a second shop. I didn't even say I wouldn't do it without more pay. I just asked the question. He never replied and never awarded me another shop. After trying to get three more shops and being ignored each time, have never applied for another shop with them.
I've completed approximately 30 shops with them, and they've graded five of them.

Just in 2015 YTD I've done 54 bank assignments for them (more in previous years). I've always reported exactly what happened and never had anyone raise concerns about the negative situations I've reported - there haven't been very many, but they have happened and my reports were accepted without question. As far as ratings go, I'd say about 85% of my assignments have not been rated. The ones that were rated received 10s and very nice personalized comments.

Since two of their clients (my two favorites, as it happens) have lowered the fees in recent months, I now tend to wait until the highly bonused assignments appear near the end of the month and scoop up the ones I have time to do when I'm not working my regular job. I have always been paid on-time and correctly by aTH. I like assignments that don't require up-front out-of-pocket, so aTH's financial shops fit the bill. And there are usually a lot of them.
Love this company. They pay well , not quickly, but well. Never had a problem with any of the 19 shops I have completed.
I have done a few for them. One had an issue where I was not actually able to complete the shop as they wanted, but I explained all that happened in the shop report. They never said 'boo' about it. I actually did a couple of follow up emails with updated information on the odd situation (don't ask) and finally someone replied and said it's okay and not to worry. lol I was paid the full amount.
I only completed 3 shops for them and the first time I shopped for them was when they heavily bonused two bank shops. When I asked about the 5 rating I started with before I did any shop for them, I was told they do not rate the shops. I find them to be a classy MSC and I have not had a problem with anything, including payments.
For those of you who frequently evaluate banks:

Say you open a bank account for the shop and then close it the following month. When you repeat this shop six months down the line, does the bank have records of you previously opening it for a short period of time? Just curious smiling smiley

Yes. It had been a long time (years and years) since I closed my BOA account, so I did a shop to open a new one. The gal put in my SS# and asked, "Are you still at [my address]? Phone number still ___________?" Now this might possibly have come out of the CHEX system, but then she asked me to log back into my on line account.

Yes, they do. I hadn't had an account in over 6 years and they still had my information from my previous account with them. Not sure what I'll do if I pick up another shop and they ask why I closed it so soon. =/
Thanks! I guess I understand why the shops pay so much! I guess they have to keep on looking for new shoppers.
I found that many banks do keep your records, even when you have closed your account many years before. I did two bank shops and the managers referred to my address and other info. I was flabbergasted because I was supposed to pretend I did not know anything about them so they could sell their services. Thank God the shops were salvaged. Sometimes experience can make you think on your feet.
Yes -- but be careful it's correct information. They had incorrect info for mine. The guy referred me to Chex, who had no record of anything he told me and not even his supposed check of me. I don't know what he was looking at it, but only part of it was really me and the rest ... well, I don't know. I was flabbergasted.
My only issue with Ath is that the schedulers frequently wait until hours before a due date to schedule shops that have been sitting unfilled (but for which I and others have applied) for several days. They often send out multiple "urgent" emails during this time, with increasing bonuses. Then hours before the shops are due, they suddenly assign them.

I've noticed that also. I applied for a shop weeks ago and barely got assigned the day before it's due. I don't say anything though. Their shops are pretty generous and the shops I've done do not require much.
I do a fair number of shops for Ath and find them to be a good MSC with which to work. And I appreciate the fact that they pay on or before their stated payment date; I've never had to chase them for money owed to me.
I went to do a checking account inquiry at a local bank, and they had my information from when I had gotten a mortgage (which had been refinanced 5 years ago) 7 years before.

I was wondering how much information did you need to send to them? The assignment I am interested in says it requires several PDF files. I use a smart phone, and then convert the images to a PDF. Has anyone submitted information to them that way. It is easy taking a picture of a bank card, and I have done a few pages that way. However, some banking paperwork is on longer sheets of paper.
Ath is very easy to work with. The schedulers are responsive and will work with you when "life happens" or there are issues with a shop. Their shops are straight forward and the compensation is reasonable for what you're being asked to do. I try to scoop up as many of their shops as I can.

My only negative comment is the same as above. I apply for a shop and it doesn't get assigned until the day before. This can make scheduling other shops difficult - I don't want to miss out on another opportunity if I don't get the Ath shop, but I also don't want to overbook myself, either.

I used to see a life coach pretty regularly.... back when they were called bartenders.
