Stericycle

Hi All,

Does anyone have any insight on Stericycle's sign-up process? I completed the application, and submitted it, along with the writing sample, last week. The system said someone would get back to me. I've not heard anything yet. Is this normal for them?

Thanks!

I don't know whether the number is available from the external shell of the website, but you can try calling them at 800-977-8943. There is an extension to select for their mystery shopping division. You may have to try many times until you reach a live person. I can't recall ever having received a call back on those occasions when I have left a message.
From the "Contact us" on there website---------->Mystery Shopping............US......1-800-977-8943 ext. 1365
I had been signed up with them previously and now that I try to login I'm getting an ID/password error. I requested my password and I'm entering it exactly from the email. Still getting an error. I emailed them twice, the first time being a month ago, and still haven't heard from them. Maybe I'll try calling.

Same thing happened to me. I thought I was going crazy. I guess I'll try to call too.

I have been wondering the same thing. I did "Step 1" a few weeks ago and have heard nothing. I have no idea if that means I was rejected, they have no work in my area, or if it just takes them quite awhile to get back to applicants. If you call and get any info, please update us.
I just signed up with them today. I filled out the contractor agreement and sent it to them but now after reading some of these posts I am concerned that the site I signed up with is a scam website not the real because the independent contractor agreement I signed says, "As an independent contractor for Stericycle, you may be given an
advance payment for the purpose of purchasing certain products as part of a Stericycle project.
You agree to the following terms and conditions in accepting an advance payment from
Stericycle.
• The advance payment is to be used to purchase product as specified in the project
instructions.
• You agree to promptly submit, per the Stericycle Field Rep Manual, all eligible expenses
related to any advance payment you have received from Stericycle.
• You agree to promptly return any unused advance payments to Stericycle either upon
request from Stericycle or upon completion of the project associated with the advanced
payment.
• You agree that Stericycle, may, at its sole discretion, offset any unreturned advance
payments against payments due to you for work you have previously completed.
• You acknowledge that in the event you neither submit valid expenses and/or return
unused advance funds related to these expenses in a timely manner, that Stericycle will
have the ability to pursue all legal means of collection at their disposal. These may
include, but are not limited to, the use of an outside collection agency, wage
garnishments and civil litigation.
• You agree that any costs incurred by Stericycle to collect funds due us, by you, will be
your responsibility. As such you agree to reimburse Stericycle for any reasonable
expenses associated with these collection activities."

From everything I am reading now no company gives advance payments. This seemed like a legitimate website for Stericycle and the independent contractor agreement seemed similar to others I have filled out for other MS companies. If this is a scam website this means I have just given these scammers a bunch of my personal information. Has anyone else filled out a contractor agreement with this wording and if so were there repercussions?
I don't remember the wording, but I've shopped for Stericycke for over 5 years and they had advanced money for purchases for large purchases. Most projects, they reimburse you along with the fee. One of their project I'm doing right now involves my destroying $800 worth of items I picked up from two stores.

Good to know that they do actually advance money sometimes. I was getting worried. I really appreciate your reply. It has eased my mind. smiling smiley
Yes, I do recall projects for them and they do advance money when you have to make a lot of purchases.
I have had exact problem with not being able to log in...just assumed they dumped me for no reason
debbiewescott, we do warn against solicitations including a promise of payment in advance. As with everything in life, there are always exceptions to the rules. It is always prudent to ask questions.

Their test even has a question where they ask how much they will owe you for expenses after a $50 advance.
LisaSTL I totally agree. I am glad I checked before doing work for them. Otherwise I may have been suspicious.
cindy55 Yes, I remember this question on their test, and as I said their contractor agreement specifically covers advances. I just got a bit worried after reading numerous posts on this forum that adamently stated that no mystery shopping company ever gives advances. I am glad it is like LisaSTL said, "As with everything in life, there are always exceptions to the rules. " smiling smiley
I remember the sign up process being a pretty big ordeal, and being sorry I went through with it, because the fees for all their shops were a joke... like $4.

jay225, if I'm not mistaken the OP is talking about the division handling product recalls. Different division, different platform and registration.

Something to keep in mind about the advance as it relates to the product recalls. It is not a payment of contractor fees prior to the work, just an advance to cover required purchases. Unlike the assumption with mystery shops requiring a purchase, the product has a value to the shopper, recalls are often for product which gets shipped back or must be destroyed.

Same company, but different log in. The Stericycle recall division pays an hourly rate plus mileage.
