CIRRUS Ripped Off by Them

Worked for them doing three apartment shops, the last of December 2009 and fourth of January 2010. They still have not paid me. They have a forty-five day pay period. Ten days past that , when I call about my pay. They say that they did not
get the invoice (that was not attached to the instructions), even though the online reports were on time. That I would not be paid until they got my invoice. I made my own invoice with all the information, their invoice had. As I was not able to access the program they use Excel. is not installed on my PC.
Their policy also states that if they have not received your invoice in three months, you will not be paid.
Let me say this, they did not accept my emailed invoice. Why? Usually when someone does work for you they give you their invoice on their paper with their printed form or handwritten. I called and the accounts payable gal, asks to mail it to my home. Ok, one week ago, it still has not arrived. I call again, the gal is off
work sick. Called again and she asked for my address. I told her I had made up
another one and ready to mail it to them. That was ok. Still no payment to PayPal
or a check in the mail. They owe me $60.00.

They are very particular about you using their specific invoice. I made that mistake as well once.

If you want to PM me the details and your email address, I can send you back an invoice that they will accept.
Gee. And only 20 bucks a job. I'll skip them. That has to be the lowest fee for apartment shops I've seen in six years.

There's another company I know of that has them for $20. Maybe that is why I am always getting emails from them needing shops done by the end of the month.

Until Hellbent said that $20.00 was low, I thought that to be one of the upper paid jobs. Well I have seen apartment shops for $40.00, but they are usually
swept up fast.
Yes, they usually do pay a lot better than $20 because they usually have at least a phone component plus a tour. More frequently they have a target individual to shop. In general I just steer clear of them.
I thought $20 was pretty standard for apartment shops (and new home shops). Are you all getting more in other parts of the country. All the apartment and new home shops I have seen have been $20, except for one I did last Spring that was $40 .... but it was $20 + $20 bonus. It popped up on my e-mail from a company I had never worked for (and never worked for again) - they don't have a job board, just contact when they have work.....It needed to be done that day and it was close to work, so I did it at lunch and grabbed the $40. But I never see more than $20 here. I take that back - I have seen a couple for more but they wanted video shopping.....I don't like video.
I see $20 apartment shops from one MSP, $30 and $40 apartment/new home shops from others.
HELLBENT, there is another msc, that pays 17.50 for an apt., I do them only if there close. The fee s/b more like 30.00 for the details of the report. I did one for Calif. Marketing who Kern schedule's, and because I made up my own scenerio (which worked), they wouldn't pay me. I de-activated, for that $, I DON'T NEED TO WORRY IF I'LL BE PAID...I'm gettinmg so select, I'll be out of work soon....lol.

Live consciously....

Update on Cirrus. Yesterday on the 15th (the same middle of the month they pay, every other month) I get an email from the accounts payable gal, that read "I just got your invoice, and I will pay you tomorrow" the 16th. It's strange that I snail
mailed a hand typed invoice a week and a half ago, prior to that emailed two
invoices of my own form. The latest has been Pay Pal has a spot that will send an invoice from their website and their invoice. I sent them two and a reminder from PayPal.
I had an emergency plumbing job that cost $280.00 on Saturday, the money they owe
me sure would have helped out with that. I worked for it to get paid and have
money to pay my bills & support my family. You would think they would spread the wealth, pay me whats due me. I know darn good and well they dont get put off by the companies that are the real clients. You bet they get paid most generous.

No wonder, we little people, peons are starting up their own MS Business. Who better to know the business than the one who starts at the bottom?

It's certainly frustrating not to get paid when we are promised, which is happening more and more as incorrectly capitalized firms use shoppers as bank loans. However, if they do pay you today, at least it is only one day late. That is a small wait compared to what is going on in this business these days. I could live with one day compared to the 9-10 month waits with no information and the lengths I had to go to to get paid by Freeman and Restaurant Evaluators.

However, I read this as you are considering opening your own MSC firm. I would carefully read your ICA's before doing so, as many have non-compete clauses.

I don't know all of the specifics of your situation with Cirrus, seibahbah, but it appears to me that you are being a bit harsh on them, considering that you were unable to supply their required invoice in the specified time.

The wording on the instruction I have seen with them are clear about submitting the invoice, and a paypal invoice is not an acceptable substitute.

I'm not sure where you get your information about what and when MSCs get paid but I think you are a bit off base there as well. I have been at the bottom, the middle and pretty close to the top of MSC chain, and have et to see a MSC owner who is getting rich of their business. Most of them work very hard, like we do. It's not a heavy profit industry overall.

Save your anger for the credit card companies that ARE getting rich off of our hard work, and the MSCs who refuse to pay on time.
