Gotta love MarketForce (no, really)

Q: How did you place your order? a) in person b) online c) over the phone
A: I placed my order in person

Q: (Flag) Why did you place your order in a different manner than was assigned to you?
A: Doh! Dammit. Dammit. Dammit!

Guess I just bought myself a burger, fries, and a milkshake. Luckily whoever designed MF's online report form was kind enough to gently let me know before I wasted my time reporting it, and MF allows me to reschedule the shop for tomorrow and do it all again.

So you are stating that you performed the shop incorrectly? I get these FLAG messages all the time at MFI even though I performed the scenario correctly. I ignore them.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

Was it determined that you performed the wrong type of shop? Were you paid?
The Flag questions are always there. It's how you answer the Flag questions that dictate the next question you see after that. Flag: Did you visit the restroom? brings up either "why didn't you visit the restroom?" or "Was the restroom clean and well stocked?"

There's usually one at the beginning too... "Flag: Did you visit the 123 Main Street location that you were assigned to?" Or something like that.

I have never seen that, "Why did you place your order in a different manner......" I don't think that is a normal flag question.
It is a normal question, has been there a long time. There are three types of shops, walk in, phone in and website (app). If you performed the wrong scenario the survey at least gives you a chance, as the OP noted, to reschedule and not waste time completing a useless survey. Same with the /did you pay cash' question they have for another client.

I've never seen that flag question. I always study the paperwork the night before about whether it's in person, on-line or over the phone for the burger place. smiling smiley
They always have this information in caps on the CPI. Even if you have done the shop 1,000 times, ALWAYS read the CPI. I cringe when I have to do a call in shop at a location that I shop frequently and I know the shop window will be a time when there is very little business. This screams shopper.

The app shop is great if they allow you to pay with the app. In the nicer neighborhoods, they will let you pay with the app and you just walk right up to the pick up window. In the rougher areas, they disable APP payment, so you place your order on the app and then go stand in line to pay for it like everyone else. This also screams shopper.

You may want to keep this in mind when deciding if you will accept a shop, if you have a location that is very close and don't want to be outed as the shopper. I'll do the call in shop for a location that is not close to me, but I won't risk it for my less than 3 mile away location.

OK, I now understand your response. Yes, you will never see it if you never mess up the order type. It is not really a question as much as it is a warning.

Yes, it's the first time I have seen that question, also, It only shows up if you shopped the wrong scenario, like I did.

I scheduled this fast casual shop weeks ago because I wanted to add the location to my list of "previously shopped" in case bonuses come up for it in the future. At the time, I was very aware that it was an online order. I just forgot. Even though it was on the CPI. Even though I read (OK.....hastily skimmed) that CPI on the day of the shop.

I did get a kick out of the wording, though. Tempting to answer: "Because this shop was sandwiched between two other shops and my son's orthodontist appointment and the traffic sucked and I went into auto-pilot mode. Next question?"

Did I get paid? I hope so!--for the correctly done shop which I was able to reschedule for today.

i genrally place my orders via smoke signal from somewhere in the parking lot. By now they know to expect darn near anything from me.

I had one of their shops a couple weeks ago and when I was answering the flag questions, I got a pop-up response asking why I performed the shop incorrectly or something to that effect. After a momentary panic attack, I went back to look at the CPI and I had performed the correct shop. When I went back to the questionnaire, the pop-up was gone and all was normal??!! I remember thinking "that was weird!: The shop went through without another hitch and I didn't see anything unusual after that point.

I screwed one up today. Had a station and tried to use my credit card on three different pumps, none of the readers marked out of order. Finally carried my little credit card inside and swiped it, thinking I was doing the right thing. Maybe. Turns out not, apparently. Apparently if I went inside I was supposed to buy my gas with cash. Received my clue on that when the report exploded. Ah well. Onward and downward.

The 1st time I did one of those shops after they started the different ordering methods...it asked why I used the wrong method...but I didn't...i used the right method according to the CPI...i just explained that and was paid...
Oh, the dreaded "pump won't take my credit card, I'm 150 miles from home, and I don't have enough cash to buy enough gas to get home! (And I'm too exhausted to drive another 30 miles looking for a gas station!)" I did the exact same thing -- took my card inside, asked why the pump wouldn't take it. They didn't have a clue, offered to run it through inside the store. OK. While they did that, picked out my snack item and paid cash for it.

Got home, started the report. Humph. No place on this report for my gas purchase? Well, that's silly. Very strange. Don't recall EVER doing a MF gas station where gas purchase wasn't required and reimbursed...oops, wait a sec, this wasn't MF! Same gas station, different company, LOL!!! No gas purchase required!

Lucky, I guess, because if it had been, my report would have been invalidated, just as yours was.

I have shopped the wrong location twice and not figured it out until I got to the part of the report that states to put in the address. Oops - cancel and re-shop with lesson learned. Always check the addresses even when my mind is screaming that this must be the correct address. Who puts the same store 2 blocks apart? Many fast foods and cell stores.
Checked the history this morning and they approved it. I owe them one. Or maybe we're even. Anyway, thanks Mama Force.

Good news!
On my Google calendar I now include the shop type in the title, (dine in, call in, web/app order). I put in the full address, try to remember to put in any important phone numbers.

I really screwed up entering a report for the wrong location today. I didn't realize it until it was time to submit CPI. I immediately sent an email to Help Desk and entered the information into the correct form. I got an email later in the morning saying that it was invalidated. I replied that I realized my error very shortly after submitting and asked if it was possible to have them returned. Later in the day I go another email. I fully expected that they both be invalidated. To my surprise they were returned. The correct one still had all of the information so I didn't even have to re-enter. Read through the summary and submitted. I would have been ok if it was invalidated as it was my fault. It was very nice to get the chance to correct the problem.
do you noticed any changes from Market Force regarding groccery shops?

They have one flag for the male/female, male alone, two females. If you checked the right box for the shop requirements, then you just ignore the flag. It isn't required to answer on that particular question.
