experience with BARE INTERNATIONAL

I have been mystery shopping with Bare International for quite a few years and am happy to say they have been one of the best I have worked with . Their payments are prompt. The information they provide for the assigned shops are in detail and when having any queries they always promptly reply to emails . The variety of shops they have are also good which keeps it enjoyable . Keep it up Bare International !

I really love this company as well. The assignments have dropped off in my area, but I still check, because they are solid, and fair.
I agree. I've done quite a few, though not that many of late because of the limited offerings here.
They're good...provided the scheduler checks their e-mail regularly. I had one not check their e-ail for a few days and give me a "flake" even though I told them several days ahead of time that I could not do an assignment. Management is pretty good about fixing any errors, thankfully. They do have some nice/fun assignments.
Bare international is the leading Mystery Shopping Company and is widely known and respected. They have a wide variety of industries which they provide shops for including, restaurants, fast food, and education facility. Bare is my favorite mystery shop company. I have done many shops with them and have had no problems with receiving payment. They pay by direct deposit the month after you complete the shops so at first there is a bit of a delay but if you continue to complete shops you will have steady monthly direct deposits. If the company has a hard time getting a shop completed, they may call you and ask you to complete it, sometimes offering a bonus.
This is all a bit rosy. I've done a fair amount and have to say that some of the editors go overboard on edits. I write a lot of narrative reports and they've required a few too many revisions and did not pay on the report when I picked up the shop on an emergency basis. I stopped shopping them for a year because I did not trust them. I can say I've picked up a few shops and have had very few if any shops, so perhaps it was a single specific editor? I would try them cautiously at first.

And from new participants. "The leading mystery shop company"? I can think of a dozen companies in three seconds that would rightfully refute that. C'mon BARE, it's unseemly to post pats on the back for yourself under fake names.

Overall, Bare International has interesting assignments and typically fair pay. I've done my fair share of them and have found they pay on time, or close enough to be consistent.

The editors, for the most part, have been fair with me. Looking over my account, I'd say about 5% of the feedback was 'off' and/or questionable. I was given a lower score one to 'encourage' me to do better next time. Give me a low score if I did not do it right, not to encourage me.

The shopper instructions I've found to be stale and sometimes questionable. Wording like: You MUST go inside to pay.... when there IS no inside throws me a bit. On occasion, when I've followed instructions to contact the scheduler/project person they have been unavailable for days. That would be my biggest complaint: Bare could use more people to respond seven days per week. Shops are expected to be done on weekends, Bare lists what to do if you need help or have questions, but there is no help available until Monday.

They only seem to have one client in my area now. It's not a bad client and I've done it, but I wish they had more here.
This is ridiculous, folks. There's nothing wrong with positive posting. I have no connection to Bare except as a shopper over the past year. I do not appreciate any inference being made that I'm not genuinely joining in on a bit of applause for an MSC that I have had no issues with and enjoy working for. What a shame it is that people cannot accept the positive with the negative. A lot of people like Bare. Like all MSCs out there, some don't. That's the biz, but don't start making assumptions either. We need good news; we need positive vibrations. Goodness knows, there's enough negativity on this forum. Don't try and take the light from every single post of praise because there are not that many.
There is precedent for posts from those listed as "new participant" "new member" being fraudulent. No, there is nothing wrong with legitimate positive posting.

From one who has been around the forum 8 years, opinionated postings by new members is nothing new. I enjoy reading a positive post from a first-timer member much more than a negative. Many times the most opinionated posts come from first-timers and they are bashing posts - and the first-timer becomes a one-time-willy.

As for whether any post is fraudulent or legitimate, it's difficult to know since most forum members post anonymously. Unless one has definite knowledge that a post is fraudulent, why would we want to call someone out on their post? I think we want to welcome new posters rather than question them.
I've done only a handful of shops from BARE...they were easy and I'd shop for them again if they do more of the big box electronic shops and if they expand with the attraction shops

Silver certified (since 2009) and willing to do shops all around the greater Chicago, NW Indiana, and Southern Wisconsin areas (including airports!.
Love them! I started out with them as my first company and did not do well at all. I'm shocked I was even paid, my scores were so low because I was navigating this on my own and added my opinion to the shops I completed. I came back to them years later and receive all 10s now. They have some great assignments which don't seem to make it to the board any longer so I'm sure to check my email for them when they get released. The schedulers and editors I've worked with are helpful and supportive. I'm so glad I was able to turn things around with them!

Doing what I can to enhance the life of my family! I LOVE what I do smiling smiley
Bare International is on my Classy MSCs list. I feel that they respect their shoppers. More power to you, Bare!
I've done maybe 20-25 shops for Bare, never had a problem, always got paid. Nothing more to say.
Scheduler Jeff Rose is awesome. He replies to emails promptly other than weekends and returns phone calls within a few hours. He was helpful with rescheduling shops and even went into my reports a few times and added info I forgot to include after I prematurely hit submit. Not done anything for them in awhile though. Sad they don't do the mailing shops anymore.
I have worked with BARE for over ten years. They are the absolutely the; professional, great clients, responsive, and wonderful project managers, schedulers, and editors. A Class Act Company.
I would love to throw a praise out to my favorite scheduler, Jennifer Eyler. She goes up and beyond for me, replies quickly to all of my emails and we have budded a nice friendship. She is, without a doubt, my favorite scheduler in the five years I have been a shopper.
Hugs, Jenaiii! smiling smiley
My only "complaint" about BARE is some of their reviwers. Most of the time, I get very positive feedback. There are some times I get commets like "Please use complete sentences". Hello? The narratives were almost identical from previous shops. I usually request a review, but the last time I got points deducted, I gave up. Talk about being inconsistent.

Besides that, I really enjoyed working for BARE. Too bad the amount of assigments has dropped drown significantly in my area.

Cheers! smiling smiley
Bare is my favorite MSC - and Jeff Rose is awesome. I did hundreds of shops for them. I miss them, but am filling in with test center shops and restaurants. I wish Bare, and all my fellow shoppers, a great new year.
Mod note: client name removed to prevent ICA violation and breach of Forum rules
Happy New Year to all also
I fully agree.BARE is the best MSC operating in India.Payment is DOT on time.Queries are promptly attended to.
I too have recently had a bad experience with Bare. I did a shop and wrote a very good report but I missed one very minor item in the guidelines. The editor emailed me and very abruptly brought that to my attention and said "no pay" and that was it. I personally felt the very abrupt comment from the editor was less than nice or reasonable so I'm not sure they deserve all the accolades. I'm sure they expect the shoppers to be decent and professional to them so I believe it's reasonable to expect their editors to also be decent and reasonable to shoppers.
I found that Bare gives you $45.00 for a shop that costs at least $55.00. My husband likes to look at the female servers in their sexy uniforms. I do not think I will ever be able to eat another Buffalo Chicken Wing in my life. I am sure the wings are not too healthy.
An LSU fan saying she won't eat another buffalo chicken wing in her life?

Not buying.

I regularly do shops for Bare. Thus far all of my experiences with them have been very positive - reports not a problem, payments correct and on time. The scheduler I work with most often has been easy to work with, understanding and flexible. I wish they had more shops in my area!
I'm new to shopping -- I was recommended by a friend of mine who did shops for BARE and they needed someone to do some exit interviews at a really nice restaurant near me. So far the work is really straight forward and I like the scheduler (also Jennifer Eyler - she's so nice and prompt to email me back when I have questions!) Depending on how efficient payment is, I'll probably keep picking up shops around me! smiling smiley
Bare pays like clockwork so you will probably keep picking up those shopswinking smiley If you are in the U.S. they offer direct deposit.

Exit interviews are pretty easy if you like the work.
Have done many. You get used to some people saying no but then you run into some really nice people wanting to give opinions. Times goes quickly then.
