Are you checking ads or trailers? Some product ads start before the posted "showtime," but those are usually just the pre-show ads they have while people filter in and out. I have found that the ads usually start at the showtime, followed by the movie trailers. The company I have done these for (which I assume is the same one you are doing) asks you to be there 20 minutes before the showtime, but I haven't found that to be necessary, if I am checking trailers. By the time the movie actually starts, I have been in the theater for about 20 minutes past the posted showtime. If you are doing trailers, I think you might be cutting it close. The trailers for the 5:05 showing might not be done before the 5:20 showtime, but the trailers for the 5:20 might not start right away.

Could I have a receipt please?
Just the ads, not the trailers. So if I can get into the theater at 4:30 for the 4:40 showing,
4:55 for the 5:05 movie and 5:10 for the 5:20 movie, I should be okay. It says to be there 30 minutes before showtime but that sounds ridiculous. Worse case scenario, if I don't make it in time for the 4:40, I will have to go workout after I check the 5:20 and come back for a 7:00 show. Depends on how quickly things go with the manager when I arrive at 4:15.
I think I have read a similar job posting. Do you have to record the commercials or trailers? If so, do you use a cell phone or what type of device? Also, do you get to watch the entire movie (after the last check?).
We'd have a better idea if you listed the assignment code. SVB, SVAC, etc. Some you are watching for a specific ad and you can leave, some call for listing every ad shown as well as ad length and time of ad. BIG difference. The recent run of ad checks has been for a car ad.

I've done the above and gotten away with being in the theater as little as 15 minutes before showtime, because the ad show hasn't started yet and the auditorium was still being cleaned up. 20+ minutes before is a good bet to be safe as most don't start any earlier than that before showtime..
I did an ad check and had to do 3 screens. It was a small theater with only 6 screens and only two showings in each theater for the day. Never again at such a small theater. I was there for 3 hours. It was in a small town 25 miles from my area. I had a list of ads to look for on 3 screens. Luckily it had a nice bonus as they were past the deadline.
