Ipsos

Talk about jobs drying up. What happened to all the shipper shops. Barely nothing for the entire month of February. First payments get delayed and now this.

All I see are [client name deleted] shops tongue sticking out smiley

I assume they completed my area for the quarter. If I expand my search plenty pop up but I'm not willing to drive 6 hours to take them. I'm hoping some more cell phone/tablet jobs show up for my area but maybe they've completed those around here as well.
It seems to me there are a lot less shops for the shipping jobs. The locations by me used to be done every month and now I don't see them as often. Has anyone else noticed this?
There is another thread where Judith answered some questions about timing of the [client reference removed by mod] shop releases. There are many locations that I used to shop that I have not seen at all since they moved companies.
Were these done every quarter and now they're not? I mean, are shops ongoing? When does the quarter begin again, assuming it's something different then the end of March? I emailed because there's only one in my area but it's a 45 minute drive and asked about a bonus. No answer and it just sits there, all by it's little self, waiting for me to do it for an extra $25

There is no question that they are not posting new shops. I know from the previous MSC that they rotate about every 3 weeks. Now since end of Jan - nothing new. The ones that are out there are the ones that they had even dating back to Jan. Nothing new. so either ship shops are no longer with this MSC moving forward or maybe a contract problem? Either way- this MSC has really seemed to have lots of growing pains.
Without further information, it isn't really possible to know what is happening. It is quite possible that this contract is different that the one with the old MSC. I don't have any reason to assume it is the same. Clients often change things like frequency of visits when they negotiate a new contract. There isn't anything about this that alarms me.
I would imagine they are completing the Q2 shops before releasing the Q3 ones to the job board. Not sure how their quarters are set up, but would venture a guess that the Q2 ends on 3/31. This jives with some of the dangling shops being slightly bonused to wrap them up by the end-of-the-month.

Aside from the slightly late payment last month, I see no cause for concern here and fully expect to see the Q3 shops roll out within a month or so...

Ipsos has always had the contract. They sub-contracted the work to the other MSC. We are usually not aware, but it happens much more than you think. Many contracts do coincide with the calendar year so if the changes started January 1, I would assume it was part of the renewed contract.

Oh, I didn't know that. I haven't done these due to long lines at area branches. I have seen this other times, but I'm sure it happens more often than I know. In reality, I guess it doesn't matter too much. If I get paid a fair amount, I am happy.
A lot of new ones were posted in my area last week, and I have been working on them this week!
Alright OCyou2! I have a bunch of boxes left that I bought at Walmart altogether so I'm hoping they have some near me soon. I won't be taking the ones from the "authorized dealers" though. I enjoy doing these, they're very relaxing.
They changed the fee on the large mostly empty box shop to match the old one. They do not seem to post bonuses yet on shops not completed. I am watching 4 shops in which I earned double fees before the transition back.

why don't you want the ones from the authorized dealers I did do one and was not paid for the shipping BUT i contacted payroll and was paid
Hello All,

FYI, from October and on the Regular box shops execute only once a quarter vs. twice a quarter last time around.

Thanks,

Dhaval
Hi there!

I was under the impression it was only happening in my market, but it seems that its happening all around.

Those are not so good news. : ((

I can't speak for the original poster but it might be because some authorized dealers charge more than the reimbursement amount. I think this was mostly a problem for the authorized hazmat shops.

Dhaval, thanks for the info on scheduling. It's disappointing but makes sense why we haven't seen the shops listed as often.
so the home improvement shops they have now that pay $15... no go, they're crap.

The two large national Big Box office supply stores always charge the same rate as the Mother Ship. Based upon comments on this forum, the Big Brown stores apparently are loyal to their own mother ship and inflate the cost to try to keep all the money in house. I have never done one at Big Brown. I have personal experience with small, independent copy and print stores, and some of them have charged more. One which I did with the former MSC bordered on extortion! [I got reimbursed for the entire cost on that one.]

myst4au I know we've talked about this in another area but just to be clear for other shoppers reading here, they were not willing to increase reimbursement to cover the full shipping cost of my shop that was going to be extortion high. I'd hate for someone to do a shop thinking the MSC would cover the extra only to find out they may not.

I feel like they have, in fact, raised the reimbursement. On the last Hazmat shop I did (at the big box store), the reimbursement was listed at $17, of which I only used $9 and change.

Edited to add: I do think, however, that on the last round of shops they were unable to raise the reimbursement amount after the shops had already gone out.

I just looked at some of the currently posted HazMat shops, and the reimbursement is indeed listed at up to $17, That is a significant change. One is at one of the national Big Box stationery stores, and I know from experience that shipping to Zone 5 would cost $9.45 there. I haven't done one at Big Brown and haven't looked back to see if $17 would cover their inflated prices. I guess reality is beginning to set in. I feel for those who in good faith did shops as directed in the previous round and then found out that the MSC would not fully reimburse them.

the $17 wouldn't have covered the shop but it would have been closer. I don't understand why people went through with the jobs when the amounts were so far off (this wasn't $1 or $2). I made an excuse saying I'd come back later, left the shop and immediately contacted the scheduler to see what she wanted me to do. The contract I had with the MSC was clear how much they would reimburse me, I wouldn't expect them to double that amount without talking about it first.

I do not see any March Regular Box shops...

Shopping Central Jersey Shoreline. WHAT? I'm an adult?! When did this happen?! How do I make it stop?!
I got an email today from the scheduler who handles some of the zip codes further north in Pennsylvania (responsibility for shops is allocated based upon the NDC ( = network distribution center) of the location and often crosses state boundaries. "My" NDC is physically located in South Jersey and also handles northern Delaware). She said that they are wrapping up left over shops, and that new shops would be appearing in the next quarter which I interpret as April, I picked upon some bonused Dim Wt shops this week.
