How long do the MCD Menu Audits usually take to perform because they raised the pay from $6 to $7.00!

I counted four MCD Menu Audits remaining and they raised the bonus making total pay $7 plus $1.00 for food to provide proof of visitation or justify why your sitting down staring at their menu without ordering anything. Are you using your phone app or laptop to get them done? When its time to get the final photograph how do you get the entire menu shot?

I like the Carl's Jr.(No Reveal) shops for $12 plus $8 in food where you go through the Drive-through, park and evaluate the cleanliness of their stores. Can you do a MCD Menu Audit at $6 in 30 minutes including the report and uploading photo and receipt? What advise would you provide for someone who has not done the MCD Menu Audits because they used the key term "Very Fast Shop"!

I've wondered the same thing. In my area they are $7 with a $5 bonus. I'm still not sure it's worth it. Anyone?
When I read you have to take a picture of every individual panel, after answering all of the pricing questions, I passed on them. The pictures must clearly show the pricing, the same pricing you already manually entered. I preferred the old ones where you just took pictures of the drive thru panels and the company gathered the pricing.

Holy Moses! They raised it by whole $1. Might as well start doing them now. winking smiley Definitely not a fast report for an FF shop.
I did one because it happened to be right along a route I was doing and It was NOT worth $7.

I had planned it as a fun stop on a long afternoon shopping with my 5 year old. I figured I could get him an ice cream cone and I would have a good excuse to sit for a few minutes while I read the menu. I happened to get a trashy McDonald's attached to a gas station. The bad language being used (by other customers) was so bad I felt like I needed to keep my hands over his ears!

We sat in the closest booth to the cash registers and I could hardly read the menu. This particular McDonald's had an old style of menu with teeny tiny font. When I was done with the prices and needed to take the pics I knew there was absolutely no way I could subtly take pictures that were close up and clear enough to read the 10 pt font. I just decided to go for it and stood up and took a bunch of pics with my phone, when I got a funny look from the cashier I just said it was for my husband so he could decide what to eat.

I was able to use the mobile app and fill out all the prices on my phone so that was easy, I don't think I would want to do it if I had to take paper notes, no way to be subtle about that.

The moral of the story is that if they are bonused enough and you happen to know that the McDonald's has an easily legible menu board these might be worth it. Otherwise prepare for 40 minutes of eye strain and dirty looks from the employees.

That's what I am trying to figure out, somebody here has had to perform the new audits. They did raise the price beyond the $7 mark? Their largess knows no bounds, thank you for answering my question along with the rest of our posters. Its nice to know we have Shoppers who take the time to answer even if its just to confirm they too are unsure of the duration of these shops.

When I was young a child there was a commercial "When E.F. Hutton Speak's, People Listen"! Keeping with that theme(this commercial is probably before most of you all) I feel when Shoppers like "Isaiah, Spanish Tulip and Rising Horizon" provide their insights its well worth getting those ears perked up. I was not sure if the $6 to $7.00 price raise had made them more valuable because the email stated "These shops are really quick and we want to process them quickly so you get paid fast"! Once again you all help those of us who have not performed these audits a way of seeking out price discovery. The Scheduler or Email made them sound "Easy and Fast Audits with one photo"!

I thought these shops were to locate a few items missing off their Menu, not plug in each item on our smartphone and stand up and take photos of the main board. The MSC was not mentioned in my email, it was one of those "Reach Out" emails from another firm.

@GuyFawkes

I saw these on the Field Agent app last week. They are gone now in my area. I've seen similar audits from different MSCs, for various fast food clients.

Thanks for the recognition and also for the great question.

A few days ago, I received the "bonus" email that said they would add $5 to the fee if they were done this weekend so I decided to take a closer look into the requirements. I originally thought it was for photos of the drive thru menus. I decided to pass when it wanted close up photos of every menu board inside AFTER recording all the prices. If I'm going to be that obvious for low pay, I'd rather be on an announced audit.
Guy, only some stores are bonused $5. After reading about Spanishtulip's experience I am going to pass on this one.
I did about 8 of these at McDonalds and Wendy's the past couple weeks. I only picked locations that were easy for me to get to on the way to something else so no time wasted for driving. I had no problem getting these done in about 15-20 minutes in the store. It helps my galaxy s7 edge has a nice zoom on it so I could get a good picture without looking too much like I was taking a picture. I could see why some people don't like these jobs but I thought they were not bad.
Does anyone have their flash on while taking pictures of the panels?

Reminds me of that fast food menu audits I did last year. Those were simple, as I was able to go through the drive-thru for those. Those literally took no more than 5 minutes total for both site visit and report time.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
I tried to do one this week and sadly was not able to complete it. I sat at the closest booth and could not read the menu from there. It was a really big location and there was a wall between the ordering area and the seats. I was sitting out in the aisle to be able to see around the wall and it was too far away. I tried to take pictures but the electronic screen couldn't be captured very well, the brightness was throwing off my phone's camera. I won't try this again but definitely not at a location that has the same layout where there are no tables near the menu board.

IDid a bonus their way. Un monton de problemas. Next one? my way. Sin problemas.

I've done several of these and won't do more unless the pay goes up to about $20. Once I got a routine down and was pretty familiar with MCD menus, it took me about 20 minutes and I could submit as I walked out the door. The trouble is that most fast food places have rules about taking pictures of their menu boards. Twice, I have been confronted by angry managers. I could not get a good angle on some of the menus unless I was basically in line, less than five feet from the registers, so being discrete was just not going to happen. I'll do some crumby shops just get my foot in the door with an MSP, but these are worth avoiding IMHO.

The two bonused ones I performed yesterday I took all the pictures before I signed up, checked them, and then took more after I ordered. I then signed up, did the price check and uploaded the pictures at home. So far no complaints.

They're going to need to match one of the other companies doing menu audits to be worth it. That's $22 per shop, a far cry from $6.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.

They warn you in the instructions to take the photo right before you leave because the employees are not thrilled to see people with cameras. Someone was doing a promotion for MCD handing out the Griddles, manager saw a friendly News crew interviewing customers and she asked the crew to leave. Ever since Super Size Me, MCD has become camera shy, how do we get photos without standing up when the best seats do not allow a clean photo? Your job will get disqualified if your photo is bad, its one of the jobs that take two or three photos when their menu is not straight but wrapped.
The first picture isn't the problem. However, by the time you are done writing down all the prices, you have most likely been noticed by the employees - it's awful hard to read a lot of the menus from even the closest seat in the dining area. So, you get some real interesting looks as you snap the first picture.... Then, you are required to get individual shots of each menu - sometimes as many as 7 or 8 total photographs. Managers tend to get terse at about photograph number 3.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
I took 1 pic of the whole menu board in the highest resolution on my camera and they said that was enough bc they could zoom in and see every price. i filled out the form first but that was fast and i sat at a table while i had coffee. i'll do more of these, ideally i wish only one photo was required as long as they can enlarge it. i like to find a bunch nearby at one time and get a batch
Not worth it. Last year these were offered at $15 and it was not worth it.
The store called the police on me when they saw me taking pictures of the outside boards.
I did 2 of these and will NEVER do them again! The shop sounds simple at first for a few bucks. Then you get there and realize that the font for the menu is so tiny there is no way for you to NOT look suspicious for staring at the menu for 40 minutes. Then trying to subtly take pictures of the menu, that's a joke. I had one Manager kick me out and tell me taking pictures of the menu was against company policy. I think it was just an excuse because they probably thought I was some creep. The small pay is not worth the embarrassment.
I attempted one of these. Got all the numbers entered and when I tried to get the pictures the backlighting made them bleary. I thought, no problem, I will just get a little closer so I stepped forward while the cashier had her back turned. Her phone rang and she swung around while still on the phone and told me that pictures were not allowed and I would have to leave. Someone saw me on the closed circuit tv.

20 minutes of entering data and I couldn't complete the shop. IMO, a huge waste of time.
I don't think they are worth it. The digital menu boards make it hard to get clear pictures and it takes longer than 30 minutes to complete, especially when you can't clearly read the menu board because it's so brightly lit up! Lol good luck!
These are double price with a bonus this weekend! From 7 to 19 bucks. If you fill out the form first and get every line they aren't so picky about the photos - I'm doing as many as I can get to while I travel to my friends party this weekend. Paid pit stops!
I don't understand why everyone is upset with these shops. I do them all the time and if I have difficulties with the inside pics, I get the best I can and then take of the outside menu board. As the instructions say, get the prices before taking pictures. I have built a relationship with the scheduler and we both understand the potential problems. In the end if you don't want to do them for the pay, move on I will do them for you if they are in my area.
I did a Wendys last week, it was pretty easy, definitly does take about 20 minutes. I'm doing 2 McDonalds today at the $19 . not too bad I think.
Summary: If you know the location well and can read the board from a dining area, etc. it could be worth it. However, some places are a total disaster to do what they ask.

I just had to cancel mine. It's an old style Wendy's with areas blocked and the dining area is so far away you can't even see the prices. So I took photos with the MCD app discretely, which wasn't that hard at the time (yes, they say not to..but this is the only possible way to do this shop) but can't zoom into each item to get the price because the app photo selection for this job is crappy. Just due to the menu, placement of people in front of it you can't really see it that well as a customer especially parts blocked off by a drinking box. If instead of he lousy app I would have used regular zoom/camera it would have been an easy enough job. Oh well. That said, for $7 THIS type of restaurant and menu board with wacky seating area....no way on earth.

It took me an hour to get all the pictures and numbers- the menu where I was is digital- pain to see and get the figures.

I cancelled the second one. Too much time for kit much $$$.
