bestmark not paying for shops

Bestmark has not paid me for shops I did in July even though they were marked paid 7/29. Also did not pay me for the shops that were due to be paid on 8/20. They refuse to answer my emails or phone calls.

They pay by check. Maybe it got lost in the mail?

I've been receiving mine 2 days earlier than scheduled. I just got my recent pay check on Wednesday. $130. They pay the fastest.

They've been great to me.... and I will continue to be awesome to them in return.
I get direct deposit. Was pleasantly surprised to be paid 10 days from doing a shop. If it involves a check it may have been lost or perhaps it was direct deposited and not noticed?
I've been doing shops for Best Mark for just over a month now and have already had 2 checks.
They have direct deposit now?

"How do Shoppers get paid at BestMark? Can I request Direct Deposit or Paypal?

At BestMark, we pay by checks that are processed every other Friday and mailed the following week. Direct Deposit or PayPal are not options at this time."

Nope. They don't.

Dunno what FlawMan is talking about...
Maybe we should protest, start mailing in all our Best Mark shops on paper, paper checks = paper shops!
I will work for them again. Fast pay. No annoying clarification emails. Not a peep was heard out of them and then I got paid PDQ! smiling smiley
BESTMARK, INC DIRECT DEP 49504066799 <-I cut off near the end from my online account.

When I click on my profile and then on "Update my Profile" in the large window to the right of the screen (Third box down, the one below e-mails) I have my direct deposit information.

Started it about 9 months ago. However, it used to be checks only. I think what M L is quoting is something Bestmark should update or is from an outside site with old information.
I'm looking at my profile right now. Below "emails" is demographics. There is not anything about payment or direct deposit.

I was intrigued also. I went and looked, and I see what Lisa sees. I did take the opportunity to update a few details, so that was good. But nothing about payment (other than my SSN) or direct deposit.

I have done several jobs for Best Mark and never had a problem with getting my check on time. In Fact it one of the places I first look for shops because they have always pay so good. My question is why do so many places pay with Pay Pal. Not only to you have to wait for the firm to Pay Pal but then you have to wait other 5 to 7 days to receive your money from them.
I believe that many companies use PayPal because it is less expensive (no paper check, no bank transaction fees, no envelope, no stamp, no need to hire someone to put the check into the envelope, etc.) and easier (many of the same reasons, plus they are not required to send out a 1099 form at the end of the year since that task gets passed onto PayPal). Yes, the MSC has to pay a fee to PayPal in order to pay you, but I am sure that the economics must favor using PayPal for many MSCs or they wouldn't be doing it. I have a PayPal Business Debit card, so I have instant access to funds and I get 1% back when I used it as a credit card. I never have to worry about a check getting lost, or a check getting stale because I forget to deposit it. [The issue of when PayPal is required to send out a 1099 form has been discussed many times on this Forum; suffice it to say that the regulation they have to follow has an aggregated payment threshold that is so high that I have never gotten a 1099 from them.]

Flawn, if you don't mind, can you copy the link to that page here? It won't direct to your page. I just want to make sure we are talking about the same Best Mark.

The delay in receiving funds from PayPal could be related to the way your own bank or credit union processes ACH transactions. If I initiate a transfer from PP to my bank account on Monday, the funds are there on Tuesday. The app and confirmation email both still say to allow up to five days, but I've never had it take that long.

If you go under my profile, there is an option now on the second column of the Update Your Profile page to give your direct deposit info.

For some strange reason you are seeing the same thing as FlawnMan while the rest of us don't.

It also states that after you sign up for direct deposit, you will still get paid by check for your next shop but a test direct deposit will be made to make sure acct info is correct. (shortened version of very looooong explanation on website)

Just looked at mine. Early august shops were approved on 8/18 to be processed on 8/19. They were just processed yesterday 8/26. Should be in the mail then. They've paid me before on time.
I'm looking on my Profile page also....nothing about updating for direct deposit...like Lisa, 3rd box down on the right is about demographics! Are there 2 similar-sounding companies, by any chance?? Or maybe this is just in a test phase and some shoppers see it and others don't??? Sure is weird!
I have a few question about the Pay Pal card , how does one go about getting one, is there a monthly fee on it and if so how much. Do all places you do business with take or is it hard to use. Thanks for any answers you can give
Alieda, instead of hijacking this thread, create a new one on the Mystery Shopping forum.

You have some good questions and you'll get more answers there.

Mine is to the right of the right...lol There are 2 columns on the right side of the profile page. The first column is contact info, payment and tax, demographics, etc. On the second column over to the right the boxes are phones, emails, direct deposit information. Employment info is right under direct deposit.
