DSG Associates

Has anyone ever done any work for this company? I will not again. They called me to do a phone shop for a local car insurance company. I accepted. The pay was right for just having to make a phone call. The insurance company told me that they could not give me a quote because of something that I had on my driving record. I called DSG back and told them that I was not able to do the shop, and I gave them the reason why. The lady had the audacity to ask me WHY was that on my driving record. Plain and simple lady, NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

I "expressed interest" once in a shop and when the scheduler called me back the fee offered was well below even this industry's standard for the same job. I guess that is why they don't post more than 1 or 2 words of "information" about the job on their site--they figure the scheduler will sell you on doing it. I don't even check their job board any more.
Watch out when you do those insurance shops.... (for any company) if you give ANY personal info you credit report is often tapped.....

I have signed with them, but have yet to do a shop...keeping my mind open, but not sure about them. Something isn't kosher, if you know what I mean.

Update...DSG called me today to tell me about a number of jobs they have in my area. We spoke and I was going to do a couple...then he says, oh, by the way, do you speak fluent Spanish...I say no, and that was that. No jobs in my aea for English speaking people. The first job they had that I applied for was a supposed Hotel. I try and make the reservation, and they won't accept reservations, because they aren't really a Hotel, they are a timeshare. Do they know what jobs they have. Be careful.....

I have done seven shops for them and only gotten two checks. Their pay is low, but I find it good practice for just starting out.

I did that in the beginning. I took whatever for the pratice, and believe me, thats the way to do it. Practice all you can, you'll see your skills get better quickly. When I look at my writing now, compared to then, it's amazing. Good luck.
I have been working for DSG for about a year and I never had any problems getting checks. I do cell phone shops for them.

Good, whatever works....cell phone and elec., now and then, I'm a retail, restaurant person.
Hi,
I do a lot of shops for DSG.
I haven't done any insurance shops thought. Just about everything else.
I find them good to work with, pay well and on time and the schedulers work with you.
I can't say that for some others though.
The Graduate
I have worked for them several times. I forget what types of shops they were. No problems, other than what others say..they are slow. They do have a schedule though and they follow it.

Regarding the person that asked you 'why it was on your driving record' - you know the answer...'there are all kinds of people, some are wonderful and some are unbelievably rude, such as this person. It boggles the mind! I would say that you need to not let these people get you riled up. Wish them well and move on to something important.
