Service Check Is Not Honorable In their Dealings

The shops pay extremely low, their instructions in performing the shops are ambiguous, and they will decline your shop AFTER you have completed it! I think its just a way of reneging shoppers of their pay. Service Check you get what you pay for! Be more explicit in your instructions BEFORE assigning a shop and do not expect a shopper to write a book size summary for pennies!

I've only done a little work with Service Check - as they only seem to have one client with two stores in my area. However, I did find their shop to be a fair amount of work for the initial offer. Of course, that's pretty common. I just don't take the shop until it has a bonus large enough to make me think it's worth my time. Then, if convenient, I'll take it. I have found their editors a little pickier than most (it's my lowest score), but I have had no issues being paid.

I'd look at it like a "live and learn" situation: You know what they expect now. Don't take another shop from them unless you are willing to meet their expectations for the money offered.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.

Hmmm... it sounds as though you did a shop incorrectly and will not be paid, although i's impossible to tell since you provided no details or facts, only a very emotional post. I'm sorry to hear you won't be paid. Better luck with other shops. I've shopped with Service Check for several years, always been paid, and found that the clients they have pay slightly higher than those with other MSCs.

In talking about honorable dealings, I don't think it is honorable to go on an internet forum, hiding behind anonymity, and say a company is not honorable in their dealings without providing any factual information whatsoever. In fact, that sounds downright DIS-honorable and cowardly. Are you honorable in your dealings?

I have had no issues with Service Check that were not my own oversights, though I have never had a shop rejected. They do require a whole lot of narrative for the initial fee, which is why I don't do them until nicely bonused. They also have an annoying requirement of only one space after a period, which is 100% against anything I was ever taught and just does not work with my touch typing. Thus I have to remember when doing a shop for them to produce the narrative in word and then do a 'find'/'replace' of every '. ' with '. ' And for them every question, whether Yes or No or data such as date and time, needs to be confirmed in the narrative.
I've completed assignments with Service Check many times and have never had an issue. Since the OP's post doesn't state specifics, it's difficult to know if his/her ranting is justified.
I have found Service Check to be nothing but honorable. Very easy to work with, both the schedulers and the editors. The always pay on time. I quite like the fact that their shop instructions are clear, easily understandable, and well written. And while they do have some shops that pay little, they have others that pay well.
One thing I can say about Service Check is they want you to specifically address each and every question in your narrative. Nothing wrong with that, just a style many shoppers have to get use to when working with them. These rules don't apply to every company, so as a shopper, you have to understand an MSC's needs, wants and preferences.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
I haven't worked for them in a couple years, but at one time worked monthly for them. They lost a favorite shop, so hardly check their site any longer. There requirements were narrative's and then some, with grading harder than some, however, I was always paid and wouldn't say they are not an honorable company. They have been around a long time. I would chalk this up to being new and (perhaps) not understanding instructions fully....always easy to blame someone else, but we learn when we accept our responsibility.

I would not consider a forum member of 7+ years to be new.

I have only done one shop for them but got a 9 and was paid. I even forgot to check the restroom and was still paid. They do want longer narrative as they like you to address every question. Looking at there job board throughout the us many of their jobs get bonused. I think we have us another hit and run with the op.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

I don't see where the OP said that they were a new participant. Maybe you are confusing this person with someone else. There is no need to look into everyone's history. Right next to their forum name when they make a post, there is a little box with the number of years that that person has been a forum member. In this case, there is 7y with a star next to the OP's name.

Irene_L.A., your name has the same exact thing next to it. 7y with a star.
You do not have to look at a forum member's history to see how long he has been a member. Next to his pgreen's name is New Participant 7y. You can see # of years without looking at anyone's history.

However, by looking at his history, I see that tomorrow will be pgreen's 7 year anniversary. I know what they say about ASSumptions, but, given that he has been a member of a MS forum for 7 years, even though he has only posted 3 times, I think it's reasonable to assume he is probably not a new shopper.

Are you talking to me or to Sybil? If you are talking to me, you are right about me follolwing her, but I don't think I'm always negative, although I sometimes am. If you are talking about Sybil, I think Sybil and Irene take turns following each other with negativity. Irene is no dummy and she can be witty and sarcastic as well as Sybil.

In case anyone is curious, I was referring to Sybil.

Glad you clarified. I was wondering. But I take offense that your post makes Irene look like some nothing dummy. I think of Irene as a friend.

Again, why would a new poster concentrate on negatives so frequently?

I think you are indeed seeing this wrong. What exacctly do you believe is negative about the post that Sybil made? I read Sybil's post very carefully, and she provided correct information and I saw absolutely no negativity in what she said.

Your (Mod modification):assumption would be wrong. I don't have the time for the nonsense of stalking people on the Internet. When I pop into the forum, I just check out the new, most recent threads that are showing on the top of the first page. I scan the subject line and if I am interested, I read the thread. If I am not interested, I skip the thread altogether. There is no conspiracy theory here.

Because they are not a new member. A current or former member using a different forum name.

That does make perfect sense. It explains why a new poster who only registered two weeks ago has repeatedly tried to start trouble. She certainly has a negative against you. I am unsure why she is trying to make Irene look foolish but maybe that just seems like the best way to cause trouble, since there has been some conflict between you and Irene.

If she can fan the flames and cause trouble between Sybil and Irene, she can sit back and laugh. I think Sybil and Irene are both too smart to be manipulated by someone who wants to start something.

Thanks for the D-fence. azbound is just one of many forum names.

There is no need to fan the flames. Irene does not like me and I don't like Irene. It is very simple. I don't lose any sleep over it and I am sure that Irene does not either.
I agree that neither you nor Irene is bothered by your mutual discord. You are both nice people who don't care for each other and clash sometimes. Sometimes Irene follows you, sometimes you follow Irene. Big deal. But what bothers me is that it sounds as though azbound wants to use this discord to stir up conflicts. There's no point in that. From her posts, it appears that azbound thinks Irene is stupid and that you can be made to look negative on a thread where there was no negativity. That makes me think azbound believes all the forum members here are stupid and easy to manipulate. I find that offensive.
@azbound wrote:

Maybe I am not seeing this right, but it seems like you follow every post Irene makes and say something negative about her posts. I don't get.

Thank you, I feel the same way and have one foot in and one foot out...Making a big deal out of everything, who really cares, Saying a new participant weather to shopping or to the forum is an old shopper is a mood point..maybe e is new to this Co. He needed answers to his post. and I answered in my way sticking up for MSC.
I don't follow Sybil2, she follow me, we have different views and read things differently, that' all...I don't dislike her. Happy turkey day.

New or not is not the point...this may have been the OP's first job for them. Even experienced, working the first time for a new company can bring problems if instructions are not followed.

I think I said before that I just learned about this forum during the Imsc conference in Vegas. I am not trying to be negative at all, just responding to what I see here. Maybe some have been here so long they forget what it looks like to someone new. I think Irene makes some good posts and it seems that Irene knows I was speaking in her defense. Edited for spelling errors.

I did a few shops for them when I first started doing mystery shopping. As a beginner, I made a few mistakes. I made mistakes on two of their shops and the scheduler cut off my account. LOL A year later I noticed they had some shops in my area, I emailed them to ask about having my account reopened. They refused. Doesn't matter to me, I'm busy working with other companies. I thought I would help them out with a few shops. It's sad some companies are this hard on new shoppers. They loose a good shopper with lots of experience now.

Loose a good shopper? No wonder this MSC deactivated your account. You have been deactivated by many different MSCs. Maybe they loose a good shopper also.
