Question About Maritz

I have a question about Maritz.

I just signed up with them and I saw a shop in my area that I would like to do. I applied for my shop and it showing in the Requested Shops Status box.

Do they work like other MSC? I applied for it and then they assign me? It did not ask me what days I can do it.

I applied for it late Monday night and I will be out and about tomorrow and I can do it then. If I do hear anything say by 10:00 can I call them and ask about it? I will be in that area around 11.

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken they will not assign you your first shop without first......you guessed it.....talking to you on the phone. So if they haven't called you yet they are not going to assign it to you yet. I would be proactive and call them in the morning.

Thanks Bgriffin for replying. I know some you can self assign and others you have to have a certain rating.

Are the reports easy ?

Why do I have to talk to them on the phone for my 1st shop?

I will call first thing tomorrow morning.

Thanks
You do have to have a certain rating. Used to people said it was after x number of completed shops but I had a person there tell me that was not that case and there were other factors involved. She did not tell me what they were.

The reports vary by client. I won't do the hardware client. I have to really need work to do their audits. Their gas station mystery shops could not possibly be easier.

Because they are Maritz and believe the telephone is the be all end all. I mean real telephones. I'm not sure they understand cellular technology yet.

Often they will want to talk with you first, but that is not always the case. There was probably a range of dates for which you signed up. If so, you will be able to complete the shop on any of the dates once you are assigned the shop. You may certainly call them in the morning, but it's not necessary. Have fun. Maritz is a very good company to work with.

The problem is he has not been assigned the shop. And from my experience on your *first* shop ever with them you will not be assigned the shop until you speak to an actual person there. That might have changed but if so it has changed within the last year. So while technically it may not be necessary to call them, the alternative is to wait until they call you.

Thanks to all who have replied.

The shop I applied for was the gas station mystery shop one. I can't wait by the phone for them to call. I am not one of those people who are guled to their phones 24 7 and I NEVER pull my phone out while I am in a store or driving and especially at the lunch or supper table.

I will be out and about around 11. I hate to miss a call. I can do it later in te week but the sooner the better
It sounds like you probably need to speak with someone on Team 3, unfortunately they usually don't come in until late morning or noonish central time.

I am in the Central time zone. I will check my email and I will call them befre I head out. Thanks again
@Isaiah4031a, they will NOT send you an email so there is no reason to keep checking your mailbox in hopes of seeing the assigned shop. What most people have said about having to talk to a team member for your first shop or more is indeed true.

In most cases, once the shop has been assigned to you, you will need to read through all of the required materials AND a take a test (and pass within three attempts) AND don't forget to write down the security code so you can access your report. I would not recommend "winging" your first shop.
So I have to call them and tell them I want this shop and I can do it on this day?

Thanks
For Christmas I'm sending the schedulers at Maritz one of those new-fangled thingies those young'uns carry. I think it's called a tablet? It can send texts and emails, they say...but what would a Luddite like me know?
I have worked for the company for several years and am automatically assigned to shops I request, but my husband just started and several jobs sat on the board not scheduled. He was called several days ago with the dates available and when he indicated that he would not be available then he was told he should have called in and explained and the jobs would have been assigned earlier.
Is there a test that you have to take before you do a shop? I talked to some one and he said that you have to take a test. However, I saw the review questions but I don't see any place to send in the answers.

I have also reviewed the guidelines for the shop.

Thanks
