Maritz - necessity of auto insurance proof and picture ID?

I'm still in the process of getting signed up with companies. Martiz has accepted me as a shopper, and I've filled out the Independent Contractor agreement and the W9, and the "Forms" section of my profile reflects that; however I haven't uploaded proof of auto insurance or photo ID. I'd rather not if I don't have to. I can't seem to view any shops, but I also can't find anything stating that I need to upload those two things.

Did you have to submit proof of auto insurance and photo ID before you could view shops?

Thanks!

It has been a while since I started with Maritz. But, as I think back, I just gave them my insurance and driver's license as a matter of working with them. I did that before I attempted to view shops.

So, that is my round-about way of saying, yes, you undoubtedly do have to give them that particular information before you can do any work for them.

Besides, why would they request it, if they did not want or need it?

PS: I would also say that if you do not have an ID or car insurance, they might assume that you would either be driving illegally to their shops or have someone driving you.

Either could be grounds for not working with them, IMO.

Agreed. Many of their shops require a vehicle. If your vehicle was to cause damage to the end client Maritz had a valid reason to want to ensure you have it.

This explains why I have never been accepted for a shop. Time to update my profile!!!
I can't recall if I was required to or not. But I would not have a problem doing so. A properly insured car is mandatory.
