Sea Levals (MSC name intentionally mispelled) Dealer Shops

The price quoted, by dealer, is only for registered dealers and is not the final price. You may not understand the legal terms being used. Edmunds can not properly add the State fees. They also do not add the dealers processing fees. If you provide your information, a sales person may choose to verify where the vehicle is being registered and provide the additional information.

Edited to add: I just utilized Edmunds, they force you to provide your contact information to get a dealer specific quote. I read all of the guides, the TMV is based on a discount from MSRP, that is it. Edmunds changed their disclaimers a while back but here is a useful link which makes it clear the price they provide is before additional fees:

Rich is not a gentlemen. He is a trainer only, and an SOB and a bully. After 2 and 1/2 years of doing mystery shopping with SEE Level HX (Atlanta, GA) based MSC,) and doing hundreds of car negotiation shops for their company, i finally got smart enough to de-activate myself from the stress of working with him and this company. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I went back to certain dealer ships to get back certain templates ( as you call them) to still not get my shops accepted) only to have Rich not accept the shop and not get paid. In the end I wrote to Lisa Van Kestern, the President and Woman Owner of the MSC to never be heard from for the way I was treated by this company. For those of you who think you are going to win, and be treated better by this MSC you are kidding yourself. Their goal is to NOT TO PAY YOU FOR THE SMALLEST REASON if they choose not to do so. Yes, this is a 10 foot pole situation. I am sending blessings to those of you who will hang in there thinking you will be paid by this horrible company..

GB, your description of Rich is an accurate one based on my experience with him. I will continue to do shops for SL, however, the dealer shops involving Mr. Rich I am done with; one and done. If this post accomplishes anything, it's to alert others shoppers to proceed with caution. If you wanna take on one of these shops be prepared for a fight.
To Love sync. Thanks so much for your support. I only wish I had more support from other shoppers and had de-activted sooner and not wasted precious time out in the field attempting to negotiate shops with dealer ships that would not cooperate. Best wishes to you for a wonderful holiday week-end.
I, too, have embarked into the car negotiation shops. I went in today and even though I flat out told the sales man and his manager that I wanted to purchase the car that day using the scenario I was assigned (lease + cash purchase) the dealer refused to give me a written quote without running my credit for the lease option. I even told them if j didn't get something in writing then I'd buy the car elsewhere. Made no difference to them.

Not sure if these shops are for me. I emailed the same gentleman you are referring to for tips. Wonder if he'll respond.
Call back tomorrow, tell them your credit is very good and you will not run it until you are ready to buy and you are able to secure financing w your credit union or bank but want to save the trouble if the dealer rate and terms are close to what you could get independently. Keep calling/txting the salesman, you want the car this weekend if they can make you a deal!

Do a little homework by looking up rates at your local credit union. Use that info when you call, fudge a little if it is a bit far from dealership offer.
I used to do these shop. The guy you are talking about R*** is very difficult to work with and generally has a low opinion of shoppers and a very high opinion of himself. There are a lot of other much easier shops out there for both the amount paid and the trouble of dealing with this guy. When you consider the $75 pay divided by the two visits and include time for travel, the actual visits and report preparation, its really not a bargain.
If it is a lease scenario, you can not use your bank.

I've never done one of these shops and I'm really grateful my instincts have always told me to pass on these.
I found many comments on this MSC, and individual, to be right on the mark! I have these shops on my 10 ft. pole list also, due to aforementioned issues. I attempted the shop due to the fee + bonus being over $100. I should have been suspicious when I saw the postings as the dealership was being shopped twice a week! I've done many auto shops, and personally, have done many vehicle transactions.
The shop went well through negotiating until the actual paperwork was being offered, and with several critical items not listed. The sales manager explained that he would not put them in print until a sales contract was signed. They appeared to have become "shopper" aware due to the number of previous shopper visits. I contacted Mr. Snarky, who demanded (yes, demanded) that I go back and get the complete figures. I had already invested too much time, and effort, and told them to schedule someone else. At least I didn't waste time trying to do the report.
It was a great deal on a high-end automobile, the salesman was exceptional and contacted me several times trying to close the deal. Had I not made a purchase several months prior, I would be driving a different vehicle now.
I do shops for them but won't do the car negotiations as it takes a unique person and the right dealership to come together to complete correctly.
I used to do these shops as well. I had one for a luxury car, where the salesman was antisemitic. He literally told me that he would not give me the written quote because he suspected I was jewish. I left, having done everything else I was supposed to do. Rich would not pay me. I finally negotiated with him to get 1/2 pay. I was just glad to get anything for the shop. It was a horrible and disgusting experience. Most of the shops I had done were not that difficult. I demanded what I needed until I got it from the salesperson. Most live up to their reputations. (not in a good way). I agree that Rich makes a fortune off of these shops, at the shoppers expense.
What a shocking story, Crookedtoez. Seeing as these are clearly not for the dealer I wonder if you could report the salesperson to the dealer or even better the car brand itself to let them know that a hate-mongerer is representing their brand without violating your contract with the MSC.
I have done over 50 of these successfully. Rich says that you just have to push and he is correct. I have not failed in any. If you push and come up just a hair short, Rich will support you. Some of these are easy money and some become hard but overall if you follow the instruction, you make money
Yes, Same Issue. Payment excluded after I went back 2 additional times and gained the right information based on exact specifics. Not worth it.

I'm calling flat out bullshit!
i think that I have been eliminated from doing any car shops from this company. Although it is very hard to get the correct paperwork, it can be done and I have been doing it for the past 2 years. I love the challenge, however, in the last two shop, both being small dealerships, they had no computer program to print out the paperwork that I needed. They, of course, would give it to me if I sign the papers, which, of course I would not. After banging myself against an impossible to work with sales, person, manager and finance manger, I realized it was time to just give up on this shop. Even though I miss the money an the challenges, I do not miss the stress. My advise: move on

With multiple visits required it would be hard to do these as a route. How many places in the US have that mamy luxury dealerships in driving distance?

I have signed the piece of paper saying I will buy if they the get the #s I am happy with. It is not legally binding and it is an old school tactic. I have walked away many times when buying cars and shopping. They also are not running my credit until I get to finance office and I am 100% happy with the deal.

That said, not my favorite shop and on my 10 ft poll list too!
