Intellishop non payment

So I did a shop for them in May. The editor asked me to make some changes, which I did. I answered everything she asked. The shop was very long since the store was understaffed and the salesman was working with me and another couple at the same time, running back and forth. Long story short I did not get paid. I never heard back after I submitted the changes. I patiently waited to get paid. Finally this week I decided to ask where my money is. I was told I did not submit the changes and therefore wasn't going to be paid. I checked some reviews on them and on the BBB page it seems quite common for them to not pay shoppers. Just a warning to all. I'd rather spend my time shopping for a company I know will pay me and not give me the run around.

This is why it's always good to save a PDF of your original report submission as well as one showing any revisions made. Then, if there's a question, you have proof.
After providing clarification, did you go back to your shop log to check on the assignment?

If you do a search here on Intellishop, you'll see you're not the only one.

I sometimes email an editor back who asks for any changes or updates to my report letting them know I got the message and will take care of it right away. You are making me think I had better do this all of the time, not some of the time. And, are you sure you hit "submit" after you made the changes and not just "save for later"? There have been times where I thought I submitted a shop and was getting ready to do another report for the same company, then noticed that the shop I thought I had just submitted was showing as "incomplete" in my shop log after refreshing the page. Things like this are known to happen, especially if we are tired or unfocused for some other reason. If you accidentally didn't submit, then the editor might not have looked at the report to notice the changes, as she would have just seen it was still incomplete.
Mod note: Post removed as it breached the Forum guideline which states, "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies". Additionally, it is usually an ICA violation to name both the MSC and client.

I put a lot of time in it. Last time I went to XXXXXX and they claim I used the same photo of a burrito even though

You do realize that you revealed the name of a client in your post, right? Our forum guidelines specify "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies." In addition, the Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) of this MSC contains a confidentiality clause that prohibits revealing proprietary information, including the names of their clients. I had one shop out of 75 rejected by Intellishop. I was notified and there is a note on the shop log. It also happened to be my own fault so this isn't a gripe, just an example of how they handle itsmiling smiley

I am having an issue as well. I have been in communication with two people that have referred me back to my scheduler who is being unresponsive after several attempts over a course of several of weeks. Who do I contact that is above the scheduler?
When email doesn't work, I start calling.

I've called...several of times and spoke with three different people who have all referred me back to my scheduler.
When I have called, I get a voice mail menu and choose my scheduler from the directory, and then leave a message (in addition to the emails). Have you tried calling the scheduler hotline as well as emailing the scheduler?
Yes, their mailbox is full. It's been full for several of weeks. They were on vacation but was suppose to return the 19th, their away message is still on

eta: the specific scheduler mailbox is full. I've spoken with a different scheduler who referred me back to the scheduler that is being unresponsive. I've also communicated with two separate people in accounting that has referred me back to the scheduler.

I am still mad about this. It shows the date I first submitted and the other date I resubmitted, yet they claim I didn't make the edits. To Lisa above, you seem to be one of the few as you can see. I was not notified. I made the changes. I assumed I'd get paid since it listed the pay in the column. And I agree , with them doing this so frequently to shoppers I have to wonder if they do submit our reports, but just don't pay us.
I can't see that I am one of the few other than on this thread.

Immw, did you take a screenshot of your shop log and send it in as proof? I don't blame you for being upset. I am definitely from now on always going to email the editor back and let them know I am fixing issues, then another email letting them know I submitted the changes. I have never had an editor for that company (I have with others a few times) send anything back to me so far, but mostly I do short and simple shops for them with barely any narrative.

eyelove2, I hope your issue gets resolved as well.

I have two completed but pending shops right now. Thank goodness they are just pizza shops and not likely to have any issues. Most of their other shops (car dealerships unless very heavily bonused) are on my 10-foot pole list.

I agree with Lisa on this one. I don't see that she is one of a few. This is a big company and a lot is written about them. They pay low fees and they have many jobs that are worth a lot more than the pay and there are many complaints because of that. But, as for the problem you are angry about, you are actually the one who is one of the few. I so far, knock on wood, have never been not paid by Intellishop, and I've worked for them since 2010. You've been given some good ideas that will help you in the future. At this point, my advice would be get over it and don't get defensive with other shoppers because they haven't had the problem you had.
I'm not passive. I feel if you are owed money you should politely pursue the issue. I had a singular issue with MF that I won (imagine that!). If someone can communicate and properly persuade the MF Helpdesk, then they can get paid by Intellishop if money is owed. But, you can't be passive, and while discussing this on a public forum may be therapeutic and give you great ideas (like mine, hahaha), it's not going to help you get paid. You must contact the company again, politely, along with proper documentation. And again, politely....etc.
I wholeheartedly agree with JAS because I am one who pursued the issue with Intellishop and was paid after a shop was invalidated. Part of being in business for yourself is being assertive while professional.
